Li Meilin was already done changing into her maid's uniform and hurriedly went out of her assigned room, only to end up face-to-face with her superior, Ms. Yu-- who is surprisingly calm at this point.

Even so, Li Meilin still felt the need to apologize for what she must have seen earlier and for being late for work.

She was just about to bow her head down to apologize to the housekeeper when Ms. Yu extended her hand and stopped her from doing so.

Pursing her lips, Li Meilin kept her head high and waited for whatever Ms. Yu was going to say to her right now.

If she is going to scold me anyway, well I guess I deserve it… Li Meilin thought to herself.

"So, have you already thought about what I said, huh?"

Li Meilin was silent while her brain was trying to process Ms. Yu's words just now. Since when did they talk about something that is not related to work huh?

Avoiding any contact with old hag number two, Li Meilin started scratching the back of her neck unconsciously and asked, "I'm so sorry, Ms. Yu, but I do not know what you are trying to say here."

Ms. Yu gave her an annoyed yet nonchalant look and muttered something more to herself than to the girl standing in front of her.

Li Meilin only puffed some air and then there was silence between her and her superior.

Sighing in frustration, Ms. Yu looked Li Meilin in the eye and uttered, "I've told you to win the young master's trust for him to be able to open up to you."

"Yes, I see that you are trying," Ms. Yu replied monotonously. "Anyway, go get ready to pick up the young master's dinner and be sure to bring it to his room by nine in the evening."

Li Meilin raised her right hand in a salute manner and responded in an enthusiastic manner, "Aye aye, captain."

Raising an eyebrow, Ms. Yu then decided to just ignore the girl's remark and went back to her housekeeping duties. After she left, Li Meilin was able to breathe out the air that she had unconsciously been holding in.

Putting a hand on her chest, Li Meilin muttered to herself, "Whew! I thought she's going to scold me or something. I guess she's not that bad after all."

Soon enough, it was already nine in the evening. After finishing her folding duties, Li Meilin then went straight ahead to the kitchen to pick up her demon master's dinner and went up to his room with the tray.

"Why does his dinner need to be delivered in his room every single time? Does he realize how hassle it is for the maids to bring one whole tray up here? Geez"

Li Meilin continued to murmur to herself when Lim Xian's words from earlier came echoing back inside her head.

His angelic, just side says to ignore it and treat it as rather a rubbish offer. She already made up her mind to not sell her dignity to any materialistic things this guy has to offer.
