Another Devised Plan?

Li Meilin can't believe this guy right now! Is he even in his right mind now? Li Meilin wondered to herself as she raised one eyebrow at this guy whom she's calling her demon master.

A few seconds had passed, when Li Meilin still hadn't replied to Lim Xian's proposal, the latter thought that the girl had finally made up her mind and accepted her proposal.

Therefore, he smiled, with his right hand in his pocket at the moment, and looked at the girl with that smug look upon his handsome face.

However, just as he was about to speak, Li Meilin let out a heartfelt chuckle which immediately confused and annoyed Lim Xian at the same time.

What was wrong with her? Why is this peasant laughing at me? Did I say something funny?

These were the questions that bothered Lim Xian's mind right now. As Li Meilin continued to chuckle, he couldn't bear it anymore and eventually furrowed his eyebrows as he glared in her direction.

"Hey! Why are you laughing?" Lim Xian yelled. "Just so you know, I am being serious here."

Just then, Li Meilin finally stopped laughing and immediately wiped away the tears that started to appear in the corners of her eyes.

Meeting Lim Xian's gaze, she uttered, "Oh, you were? I honestly thought you're somehow joking."

Lim Xian's patience grew thin every second as he continued to deal with this girl. He thought that as a person born with nothing, using his wealth on this girl would make it easy for him to execute his plan of making her fall for him.

But he was wrong… It would be much harder than he expected.

Darn this girl… What should I do now if this plan fails? I don't have any plans left to make her quit her job voluntarily.

After wiping her tears away from all that laugh she made earlier, Li Meilin's gaze went from being soft to being serious all of a sudden that somehow astonished her demon master standing in front of her.

At this point, Li Meilin annoyingly raised her right hand and rudely pointed her index finger at her master.

"It's funny to think that you thought you can just buy all the women in the world with your wealth, but lemme tell you this, jerk…" Li Meilin then took a step forward and shoved her right index finger rudely at Lim Xian's chest before proceeding.

"Money can't buy all the things in this world. Not. Even. Me." Li Meilin said the last part firmly and gave her master the sharpest look she could ever give to a person.

Before leaving his presence though, Li Meilin added, "You can continue pestering me at school or whatever, but I will not give up on this job. Do you hear me? I will not quit!"

It was now Li Meilin's turn to plaster that triumphant smile on her seemingly innocent and gentle face before she spun around, with her hair flying behind her, and turned her shoes on to walk away from here.

But just as she realized that she was wearing the stilettos that this jerk had given, Li Meilin immediately removed the shoes and threw them away in Lim Xian's direction before leaving this room to proceed with her maid duties.

What a jerk! Because of him, all the work that I should have finished by now would be delayed! Gosh! There's still some studying that I need to do for tomorrow's quizzes.

Li Meilin couldn't help but sigh in frustration as she walked towards her room to take a quick shower and change into her maid's uniform.

Meanwhile, Lim Xian was somehow astonished by what just happened that he was somewhat frozen to his place for a few moments.

Once he was able to regain his composure once more, he sat back on the couch and planted his elbow on the armrest before he placed his hand on it.

{"Money can't buy all the things in this world. Not. Even. Me."}

Li Meilin's words from earlier suddenly echoed back inside his head like a broken record, and that annoyed him even more.

Snickering, Lim Xian then fished out his smartphone from his pocket and dialed someone's number.

While waiting for that person to answer, Lim Xian mumbled to himself. "Oh yeah? If I can't buy you, then I will just have to resort to another method to make sure that you'll still end up falling for me."

"Hello?"

At last, the other party on the line answered his call. A wicked smile emerged from his red, luscious lips as he talked to this person about the scheme he had just devised; the man on the other line listened intently as his master gave orders.

Finally, after a few minutes of talking, Lim Xian started to wrap things up. "Is everything already clear to you?"

"Crystal clear," The guy on the other line replied with sheer confidence in his tone.

"Good. I expect nothing but perfection on tomorrow's plan."

"Trust me… it will be."

"Very well."

After that short conversation he had with that stranger, Lim Xian finally ended the call with a delighted smile plastered on his face.

In his mind, he was already forming a new plan on how to succeed in making the maid fall for him with the other resources he got aside from his wealth.

He had already seen it in movies or read it in cliche, boring manga before... so it might also work for someone whose heart is as hard as stone as that peasant's.

"Ahhh. I can't wait for tomorrow's outcome." Lim Xian muttered as he left the room and headed to his own room.
