Chapter 81: The vow of eternal lifetimes

MianSu turned her back against him yet HuaiYan held her hand refusing to let her go.

Her heart was always bound to Asuro… HuaiYan was just an accessory for her to get to Asuro but now, she desperately wanted to have him… Obsession is eating up her bones.

Looking back on the past, MianSu released fake laugh from her mouth. She sat at the topmost tower of YaoDei Pagoda where a sawtooth's spirit was kept inside a large crystal.

The purple-green glowing crystal was placed perfectly at the center of the round table. After a while, a servant came inside the room and bowed himself in front of MianSu.

"Mistress… The preparations are complete."

After the servant left, an ominous smile painted on her face. Her innocent looking face changed into a capricious look as if lusting herself for mischief. Wan MianSu got her good reputation as a high elder immortal yet despite her reputation and beauty, she's as bit as ugly within.

MianSu stood from her chair and then called in another servant.

"Tiger Swallow… Go to the human realm and kill Jin Ren. Our secret must remain a secret. If that scoundrel tells the Na siblings, all will be for nothing am I understood?"

"Yes mistress. This servant understands."

"Go now and do not return until you wipe out his life completely."

"Understood."

With a dark shroud of smoke, the servant then disappeared. MianSu's sinister smile then soon turned into a hysterical laugh.

"Asuro… Don't think that you got even with me now that you know the truth behind your banishment. I will soon send an armada to wipe out your precious humans and rule the ninth heaven."

"Your highness." Jin Ren presented himself in front of Wei Yue along with QingHai and Hong HaiLing.

Wei Yue raised his hand and all of them stood up. Wei Yue's eyes has been caught by the attention of a mysterious mark on Jin Ren's forehead and the same as QingHai's.

"Jin Ren. Stay here. The others… Please give us a moment."

"As you wish your majesty."

HaiLing held his granddaughter's hand but she refuses to leave the spot where she stood and shook off her grandfather's hand.

"Your majesty. It's best if I am here while you talk to Jin Ren. I can feel that the walls have ears and eyes."

QingHai directed her sight to MoXiao and LanRong who are standing behind the shadows of the erected pillars.

"Yes child. Stay here and listen."

"Thank you, your majesty."

Wei Yue stood up and descended from his throne. As he arrived to Jin Ren, he examined the mark on his forehead.

'Where did I just see this kind of mark… I think I have seen this a long time ago… Or I may have just forgotten about this…'

He wasn't done looking at Jin Ren and QingHai when LanRong went inside the throne room and ripped off the sleeve of QingHai's robe. Her eyes widened as she saw the glowing mark on QingHai's arm.

"H—How? Why did you do this little girl?"

"I told the bad guys that I would protect Jin Ren and cherish him for the rest of my life."

"Do you know the consequences of your actions? By saying those things, you just made the vow of eternal lifetimes with him!"

"Vow of eternal lifetimes?"

"Yes. The vow of eternal lifetimes makes two souls united for milleniums of lifetimes. The imprint wasn't an ordinary imprint at all. You imprinted on a high immortal!"

Wei Yue stopped LanRong before she could say another word. She looked at him and he shook his head.

LanRong excused herself and went to the shadows once again. Wei Yue apologized to them and decided to take them to the royal garden instead.

QingHai and Jin Ren followed Wei Yue and as they reached the garden, Wei Yue walked and reached out on the flowers and picked a bluish-white flower in his hand.

"My name is He QingHai. My grandfather Hong HaiLing raised me when I was just a baby."

QingHai bowed her head and Wei Yue took the flower on his hand and casted a spell on it.

QingHai raised her head and saw the flower turn into a tiny creature with horrendous face and crooked wings.

The creature tried to fly and attack QingHai but Wei Yue struck it with a burning flame and it fell to the ground slowly turning into ashes.

"The flower… It's supposed to be a lovely flower…"

"Yes. Sometimes appearances can be deceiving aren't they? Little girl?"

"Yes. I understand."

"Don't worry. I already called someone to undo the banishment ordeal."

Wei Yue walked further. Jin Ren and QingHai continued following him. As they all arrived at a pavillion, Wei Yue saw a familiar face which made him smile.

Jin Ren's eyes widened while QingHai remained clueless.

"Ah, XuanWu… You came."

"I couldn't keep a friend in need waiting for my help aren't I?"
