Epilogue 1: Happy Ending

The rain kept pouring outside, adding to the gloomy atmosphere in the white-walled hallway. The usual smell in this place was not helping in soothing the nerves of the people in here. An old couple was sitting by themselves, away from the young ones, with the husband comforting his trembling wife.

The sound of the footsteps from the pacing of the flaxen-haired girl was the only noise bothering the gloomy silence. Not far away from these three, another couple was standing with a kid beside them. The kid was dazed, probably still traumatized by the events that took place a while ago. She wasn't upset now with her dad quietly arguing with her mom.

The door to the emergency room quietly opened but the pacing girl didn't hear anything, still lost in her thoughts. She almost fell when she collided with the doctor that came out.

The doctor held her by her shoulders to steady her, "Are you okay?"

The girl stared at the gray-haired guy holding her and frowned. Assured that she was on her feet, the doctor talked to the eagerly waiting family, "I'm Dr. Roland Wimbledon. One of the doctors in-charge of the ongoing operation. I just want to assure you that we are doing our best in saving your relative. Please get some food for yourselves first since we can't tell how long the operation will take."

At that instant, from the slightly opened door of the emergency room, they heard a dreaded sound.
