Crafting Heroes 1

" What would be a good gift to humanity?" Alex said aloud to himself as he observed the happenings of earth.

Currently, Earth's world leaders were in a panic. They didn't know what to do, unlike what they would have many believe they never took the idea of aliens seriously.  Countries had next to no practiced protocols for dealing with this kinda thing.

Why would they? Despite many scientists saying it was nearly impossible for there not to be other sentient life forms, people tend to dismiss what they don't believe or haven't seen.

The exception was America, but that was only in case of a peaceful greeting from whatever aliens came to greet them.  They weren't prepared for full-scale war against an enemy unknown. (A/n: Did you catch the reference there?)

However, that wasn't the only problem they were facing.  With all the recent happenings, groups falling apart, Organizations self-imploding, and even countries collapsing under the weight of the sheer panic of their people, it wasn't looking good for humanity.

Right now, no for the last few decades, humanity has lacked a proper beacon of hope. Something that all people could relate to and follow. Someone that had the power and charisma to lead the people in the right direction. 

If Alex didn't do anything now it would only be a matter of time before only anarchy and despair took over the entirety of the world. 

'But who do I gift the ability to do such a thing?' Alex thought to himself.

The person or persons whom he would give gifts to couldn't just be anybody. They would, after all, essentially be the main characters of Humanity. They'd be the ones to lead humanity into the next stage of their development, and win the war against the Yinzea. 

His family came to mind, but Alex quickly dismissed such thoughts.  While he would give them something later, Alex knew they wouldn't like to be the main characters of "his" story. Rather, they would be the protagonist of the path they made for themselves. 

Thinking back in his memories the images of a certain soldier and the current president came to mind. 

One hardened by the burden of war, filled with an acute sense of justice, an incredible knack for combat, and yet still shackled by the norms of society and his obligation to listen to his superiors.  

The other, a woman holding a position of significant power, a genius scientist, a good leader, and had the motivation to forward real change amongst her people. Unfortunately, all efforts have been bogged down by the politicians blocking her path.

" These two are perfect," Alex said with a grin.

Are they the best choice for such roles?  No, they aren't, but that was the point.

If Alex truly wanted to, he could create perfect individuals for the job. However, humanity has had a long history of over-relying on people or things. So, if he created what would essentially be mini-god emperors to lead humanity when they died Alex could imagine the anarchy and destruction that'd be left behind. 

Actually, Alex didn't have to imagine the outcome. A quick look through a timeline where Alex created the perfect beings to lead the human race, it confirmed his suspicions. 

Dismissing the image from his mind Alex casted his gaze towards his to-be protagonist.

"Now, how do I do this in a way that won't cause even more problems?"

Alright, I'm not gonna make any excuses as to why I haven't updated in a while.

Only thing you gotta know is that my social life takes priority over you guys and gals.

But beyond that, I'm open to suggestions as to what powers should Dr. Olivia and Reco Ruzo should receive from Alex.
