Prelude to War

600 BC

Asgard, Hall of Asgard

Today the Asgardians were gathered in this hall as there was to be made an important announcement by their king. The high council members were also present since they too new what was going to get announced.

As Odin sat on his throne and other royals stand near him. He began recounting how Asgard with its mighty army should be the rightful protecter and ruler of the nine realms and it is only natural they claim the nine realms as theirs.So he would be starting a war to reclaim them under Asgard's protection.

As soon as the words war and nine realms entered the minds of asgardians , they got lost in their fantasies of winning glory for Asgard. They trusted their King because of his bottomless power and didn't care about the reason for war as they were just warriors and not politicians. Some smart ones if any found this whole situation fishy but chose to ignore it as they were smart enough to not question their king.

Lord Magnus looked very uncomfortable seeing all the asgardians cheering for glory in a purposeless war which was only for Odin to further his ambitions.He was the head of high council which is the highest ruling authority after the royal family but he is powerless as any Asgardian when it comes to decision taken by the king. Odin wanted to further his legends by exceeding his predecessors and conquering the nine realms as his own. He didn't care about the no. of mortal deaths and destruction caused by his actions or he is blind not to see them.

As the feast continued and asgardians partied for the upcoming war not knowing their is nothing about honour in war as except a few veterans most haven't been to war.

Hela looked estactic just thinking about how many deaths she will cause in the war. Seeing which made Vulcan come across the harsh reality that it wasn't Odin wasn't the one responsible for Hela's bloodthirsty attitude but he was the one to simply amplify it using the wars and not stopping it when it was time. So if Hela can't avoid her fate, he should change my plans as with her support he could have gotten control over in an easier way.

As Vulcan planned how he would use the war to close to most nobles and generals so that they favour him when he ascends. He will get their support by showing his might in battle and using his mind to create strategies for war while show his care for his fellow soldiers after the battle in order to generate the image of a favarouble and loveable prince.

Royal Palace of Valaskjalf

All the high ranking members of Asgard together to plan for the war that Asgard decided to start. The commanders along with royals as well as high council and representatives from high Nobles sat along a long table with a map of Nidavellir on show as that was decided to be the first target as proposed by prince Vulcan as he said about getting better weapons which took Odin's attention.

If they were to invade Nidavellir , it was to be by three entrances available which were on the north, east and west. The north was the main entrance so it was decided that Odin with a legion of Einherjar was to invade from North while Try with his personal Einherjar legion was to invade from west while Hela along with valkryries under the command of Brunhild was to take down the Eastern gate. The nobles were to provide logistics but who from how many planets did they pirated those resources for they weren't from Asgard nor do I they think the nobles will get them through trade.

Even thought the dwarves aren't a warrior race. They have their weapons to compensate for them as they may a sizeable amount of resistance but Odin planned to crush them until there isn't one left. Odin will make them slaves for Asgard as they will make weapons for them for thousands of years in the name of imaginary protection from Asgard as they got wiped by Thanos anyway and which will make them lose any self-reliance in army for they were helpless against a few chittauri.

As Asgard cant be left unprotected the remaining legions of Einherjar will remain under Vulcan as he stayed on Asgard to protect it. Vulcan though eager to get his new weapon didn't object when as Odin the leader of the legions of Asgard gave their orders for he didn't want Odin's wrath.Hela showed a smile as she felt eager to go which Odin noticed.

The powerless high council though wanted to avoid war also accepted the arrangement as they only have power when there wasn't a royal to rule and they usually oversee the various officials and nobles in Asgard to do their duty.

The commanders started planning various strategies in which Vulcan contributed some of his own which took the commander by surprise as they looked at him in a new light. Vulcan though didn't let their praise get to him as he only recommended strategies he saw in his mortal memories and not made by him. As the preparations were completed , all left to do their respective jobs for the war.

In his room, Vulcan was in thought about how living after so many years such a life has made him develop a god complex as it may lead to him making stupid decision out of stupid pride.So he won't always go for pro and cons and will also his take emotions into account for his future plans for he may regret it later if he doesn't.
