Amnesia

Hours had passed with no wild edible plants to forage. Lost with no food, water or shelter in a forest filled with risks and perils. With that monster roaming around Aren cannot setup up a camp in the open. If he wasn't so terrified of death he would have committed suicide. The very thought of such an act sends shivers down his spine. Steeling his resolve to survive the obstacles that he may endure in this world He increased his pace.

Not even a minute had passed before he halted in his steps as his instincts overwhelmed him of an approaching crisis. Consequently, the body entered fight or flight due to the sudden stress.

As if on Autopilot Evasive maneuvers were performed as he jumped from one branch of tree to another making his escape opposite in direction to the inbound hail of arrows.

He immediately stopped upon reaching the middle of the clearing in wait for the perfect storm.

Within seconds Goblins started to emerge from the forest one by one as they surrounded the clearing hence terminating all paths of retreat. The Globin's armed with various weapons such as swords, spears, axes eyed their prey with a blood thirsty and Hungry Glare. Saliva was dipping from their mouth as if they could not wait to gobble him up.

He assumed a defensive stance by instincts to bite the bullet as he pulled out his sword.

Goblins advanced in a leisurely pace before abruptly Throwing caution to the wind as they charged head-on.

Driven by instincts he immediately switched to an attack stance and chopped the approaching goblin in half before performing evasive maneuvers to dodge the incoming attacks by a narrow margin in a limited space.

Every Opportunity to attack was exploited to the extreme as heads began to role with very swing of the sword. Some careless goblins were disarmed and used as meat shields while others were killed by friendly fire because of excellent maneuver's.

Aren is most certainly not a warrior therefore given the choice he rather not fights at all. Additionally, the instincts he receives upon the possession of his new body was what kept him alive. So, he decided to bet his life on it.

As a result, many goblins were killed yet not without a price as his body was riddled with cuts because of his inexperience.

Hail of Arrows rained down on him as the number of goblins dwindled. He ran like the wind dodging the hail of arrows as he escaped with the goblin archers right on his tail.

The Chase continued until they reached the river. No opportunity was presented to evade or hide from his pursuers therefore he decisively jumped into the river. An arrow grazed his cheek as the currents pulled him down the river. Arrows kept raining down the river by the furious goblins on the surface.

Pulling himself out of the River Aren rejoiced but his hopes were Shattered into Pieces as an Orc came out of the Forest.

The Orc Roared in Delight as it bashed his Club on the Ground in excitement upon seeing him. Aren Swore at his Bad luck as he avoided getting bashed into a pulp by the enthusiastic Orc.

Injured and Exhausted from his previous battle his movements started to become sluggish. Every Attack landed in Failure thus throughout the Fight He didn't land a Single hit on the Orc. The Bruises he received were the only prove of his efforts thus worsening his injuries.

The Orc was relentless in its attacks providing no room for a counterattack. The Orc was amused as the Prey continued Meaningless attacks, each one just as weak. No Matter how often the prey would have attacked, no damage would have accumulated. Thus, The Orc was not Threatened.

Just when he was about to end its life the constant onslaught of attacks suddenly stopped.

His Prey, Now, however was different. There was an overwhelming Difference with in the Presence before him. Having felt danger for the first time the Orc's Body tensed. Even so the difference in their Ability was so huge it didn't matter how its Prey fought.

Aren Clenched his teeth ignoring his bodies scream of abuse and charged at the Orc. Expecting a frontal attack, the Orc Countered. He dodged at the last second and landed a Roundhouse kick causing its body to fall.

He jumped at the opportunity to turn the tide of battle. Discarding caution to the wind Aren mustered the last of his strength to kill the Orc.

The Orc not to be outdone Attack out of the Blue. He was send Rolling on the ground with his Left Arm and 2 ribs broken.

Despair Gripped his Heart as he failed in the Last-ditch effort to kill the Orc. Completely Exhausted He had no further Strength to Resist as the Orc approached. The Orc Grabbed hold of him by his waist and opened its mouth to devour its food.

Aren yielded to his fate with a wry smile as Felt Death Approach Again. With the last of his willpower used up he Blacked out.

A body completely wrapped in bandages was Lying on the Bed Apparently still unconscious.

"It's been Two weeks, how long is he going to be unconscious." A Teenage Girl of 17 years old Asked the Old man.

"Give it time, with half a foot in the grave he's lucky to have survived." Replied the Old man.

"I don't understand, why would he go to higher rank area with his low rank." Inquired the Girl

"We will have to wait, for he can answer that question." Old man answered

Any further conversation was halted by the sound of a moan. The previously motionless body began showing signs of movement.

Aren slowly opened his eyes finding an old man along with a girl watching him in concern. He tried to sit up, but his muscles scream in protest still sore.

"Easy there my boy, your muscles are still sore." Old man informed him.

Aren still light-headed nodded as he found himself wrapped in bandages. A loud Growl came from his stomach who wished to be heard for being ignored for so long.

"Bahahaha, Lila go bring some food for our guest." The Old man told the girl.

The Girl grumbled but still complied as She departed.

"Boy you are quite lucky to be alive. Your reckless actions that day will not go unpunished. Regardless, it's no use crying over spilled milk for I hope you have learned your lesson. If Sir Garen didn't arrive on time you have died." The Old man admonished him quite harshly.

If he had bothered to pay attention to the boy, he would have noticed his absentmindedness. Aren as if struck by lightening began recalling the disaster he went through. With no longer in a fight or flight mode his mind began processing the experiences he gained during the battle. If his stomach wasn't so empty he would have puked.

Never in his Life did had he ever considered taking a life, but that day he killed those monsters without a second thought. It was either kill or be killed. Never did He imagine himself of all people to be this courage's. The efforts previous Owner of the body as well as luck played a large part that he escaped with his Life.

"Are you even listening to me boy." The Old man bellowed finally noticing him not paying attention.

"I apologize, I was distracted." Aren Replied.

The Old man was about to admonish him again when Lila came back with the food.

"Let him eat before you scold him again." Lila said as she helps Aren in to sit up.

Aren began devouring the food as the old man kept grumbling about youngers these days.

"I am thankful to you for saving my live and taking care off me, but may I ask who you are?" Aren asked as he chewed on the bread.

Death Silence.

The Old man found Aren to be genuine about not knowing them therefore Before Lila could say a word, he spoke.

"Lila, go call back the healer, While I introduce myself to the lad." Old man ordered.

Lila departed without delay.

"Names William the Guild Master of The Adventurous Guild. The Girl that just left is Lila the receptionist." Replied William.

Aren nodded but asked no further question as he continued with his meal. Both stayed Silent until Lila returned with the healer as he finished with his meal.

"Your muscles are still sore but over all your condition has improved." the Healer commented as he finished his check up, "Now, what is the last thing you remember."

"Being surrounded by Goblins and almost getting killed by an Orc." Aren replied

"I see, the trauma must have been the cause of your Amnesia. So, don't exert yourself and get plenty of rest." Replied the Healer.

"Will he get back his memories." Lila asked in concern

"That will depend on him." The Healer replied as he left.

"I will leave the explanation to you." William left immediately.
