Chapter 5

"Wakey wakey" Viana Said as she entered Doris' room. She tapped her and Doris hardly moved.

"Would you wake up young lady?" Doris shifted and whined. " Leave me alone" she covered herself with the duvet.

Viana opened the window blind.

"No close it back" Doris groaned. She lifted her head up

"Not until you wake up! This is afternoon dear. Don't waste the remaining day like this. She was standing akimbo with hands on her hips.

"But I don't have classes"

It was true because the students were on vacation and some had already started leaving their hostels to their parents' house.

"That doesn't mean you should waste today, get up" viana reached out to her, dragging out a reluctant Doris from the bed.

"See how you are behaving like a baby" she laughed at Doris as she sulked.

"And sweetie you were wasted last night" she queried with a stern face.

"Yes mother I was" Doris replied sarcastically rolling her eyes and lifting her hands up to the ceiling

"Trust me, you missed a whole lot, the party, drinks oh my" she huffed out all excited to a Viana with a weird look plastered on her face.

"Wished you had come " she pouted

"Thanks I enjoyed my stay here"  Viana didn't want to get into trouble and she loved staying in quiet places.

"Enjoyed indeed, with the fans, and that book you have been reading, who knows wall geckos were also part of the fun.

"Don't be silly"

"Of course I am not " Doris jumped out of the bed twirling around lazily, doing some popular dance moves.

"La la la la la la la" she sang hysterically with a high pitch, moving around viana.

"Seems the party hasn't ended for you" Viana laughed as she tried getting away from the dramatic Doris who couldn't allow her.

" Of course not, but you could join me this time" she threw viana a wink, still moving her flexible body as she continued humming a tone of a song which she danced to.

" No, I am not interested" Viana declined fast enough but Doris wasn't taking No for an answer.

She dragged Viana's hand and  slowly Viana succumbed to her wishes seeing that Doris wasn't giving in.

They danced, for a while and fell on Doris bed, with their back on the mattress as they faced up the ceiling and laughed.

"We must stop this before it gets out of hand". The door to the office slams open and bangs on the wall. Stephen emitted authority as he walked into the office with his gamma Collins trolling behind. He was pacing around worried

"But we are still associating it with normal sicknesses that affect humans, He tried to explain.

" Normal sickness? Now tell me how long we are going to continue with this new disease that is affecting werewolves' '. He faced Collins, his face looking all drained.

"But it has a cure" Collins persisted.

"That is not enough, I want to know the cause, not just the cure".

" I want all council leaders in this territory summoned also the kings included"

"Not a problem, but you need to take a chill pill man" Collins said " trust me all will be well" he kept assuring.

"I hope so," Stephen breathed out heavily.

"When are you coming back to Creeksville?" Collins sat down on the couch in the office, he took a candy on top of the centre table, in a little bowl. He opened it, helping himself to it.

"I am not so sure about homecoming" he was busy looking through some files. Despite his serious looks, he still had that perfect face. He is deadstruck handsome.

"Moreover, the full moon is about to set in" Collins collected more candy, as he chewed the one in his mouth.

"Strawberry and vanilla taste good together" Stephen gave him a confused look and he smiled showing his beautiful set of teeth.

"I am also not anticipating that" Stephen replied. He continued with his work.

"Bryan, called" Collins, looked up and with a more serious look. On hearing the name Bryan, Stephen looked up.

"How is he doing..?" Stephen asked.

"Great, he is doing great," Collins answered. " He won't be coming back so soon like we anticipated," he continued.

"I know, happy the summit went well"

Bryan is the beta, being second in command after Stephen. He was a committed and hard-working man, in mid twenties. Very intelligent with great thinking ability, no wonder Stephen decided he should represent him in the upcoming werewolves summit for werewolves leaders all over the world.

Collins' ringing tone could be heard, as he picked up his mobile phone to answer the call.

"Yes the alpha is here" he replied with a serious face. Mentioning alpha raised Stephen's curiosity, as he raised his head and kept a look on Collins as he answered the call

The playful side is gone when he is to face business.

"He is needed immediately" the voice from over the phone said.

"As your gamma, I demand to know your reasons for seeing him". He queried

"We got a call that a rogue has been discovered. He is a drug seller and also a chemist. Venturing to his little lab, we discovered several chemicals and drugs that might be linked to the spread of the new disease"the voice reported.

Collins, surprised, turned his head and shifted his gaze at Stephen who was staring back.

No need to tell him the situation because he heard the whole news, thanks to werewolves and their great hearing abilities.

" I will get back to you" Collins ended the call.

" My suspicion of something behind this new disease was right," Stephen said as he stood up.

"But what do these rouges want?" Collins asked in despair.

"What do they want?" Stephen gave a little laugh. They are a set of ingrates. I allowed them into my developing city, which other alpha's can never do. Gave them a chance, and they want to turn against me"

"That is it !" He exclaimed, looking so unhappy.

"I need a thorough search about the man, and other rogues in this city and towns in my territory. As of the scapegoat, we shall get to this" he concluded, turning to his window and looking out.

But what exactly do the rogues want?

Why the spread of these diseases?

Those were the questions going on in Collins mind as he headed towards the door to carry out the alpha's message.
