Ch08 Payback Time

Hano sat speechless staring into empty space as Vi went to get her a glass of water. She followed Vi home after recalling her memories. She couldn't bring herself to believe that the man she called her husband tried to kill her.

"Here you go" Vi said handing a glass of water to Hano who was lost in her thought

"That man tried to kill me. Vi, he shot me!" Hano said with tears dropping from her eyes

"Are you really sure Hano? You should ask him for an explanation. Even though I hate him so much." Vi replied dropping the water on the table in front of Hano.

"I remember Vi. I really do. He tried to kill me he shot me with a gun" She said trying hard to fight her tears back.

"Take it easy Hanora. Go back first so he won't suspect anything and when you take him out, we leave everything behind" Vi explained holding Hano's diamond shaped face in her palms.

"I'll make him pay for what he did" Hano said fuming with anger and shedding tears.

"Any update?" Rey asked his subordinates while driving into Arnolds' estate.

"She was at Arnolds' place but the server got jammed. I think she took it off right there" The tech guy replied through his Bluetooth earpiece.

"Ah, what brings you here Mr. Rey?" Arnold asked stretching out his arms for a hug immediately Rey alighted the car.

"Where is she?!" Rey shouted gripping Arnolds' collar.

"Don't worry, I just tried to assist with her health recovery." Arnold replied laughing

"You're getting on my nerves Arnold. If I don't find her I'll make sure crows feed on your eyes" Rey furiously said

"Instead of staying here maybe you should try locating your beloved owner. You'll never be more than a dog to her, she'll control you no matter how powerful you are" Arnold chuckled. Rey went back to his car in anger, before he could ignite his car he received a call

"She's back sir" he voice over the phone announced and Rey was scared immediately.

**what if she remembers everything now?** He asked himself driving at top speed back to the mansion.

*****************************************************************************************He entered the room and it was dead silent like no one was there. Hano kept on staring at a painting on the wall in the room and didn't even realize Rey's presence. Vi was going through some books on the table and didn't even pay attention to both of them.

"Ha---Hano?" He called in fear

"Is that the way you call your boss?" Hano replied in a cold tone still engrossed in the painting

"I'm sorry I couldn't tell you earlier. I was scared you'd back the Regals up again"

**Regals? Who are those?** Hano thought. She only remembered fragments of the past and she couldn't remember anything about Regals.

"Sorry can't make up for your betrayal" She finally said swiftly aiming a gun at his head.

"Do you want to know how if feels to be shot?" She asked grinning

"Wait Hano you're misunderstanding. Let me explain, trust me" He reassured trying to calm her down

"Trust? From a man like you? I'll pass. You had your chance to explain things to me but now you just lost your opportunity" She said placing her finger on the trigger.

She wanted to pull the trigger but a part of her was hesitant. She recalled the short memories she had and also how he shot her.

"The Regals. If you can stop them from delivering the arms and drugs then I'd listen to you." She added lowering her gun.

"It'll be difficult Hano but just listen and trust me. I'll explain anything in three point four" Rey replied glancing at Vi. Hano still doubted him but she just thought he deserved salvation.

"Enough with the chit chat. I found evidence of their illegal operations but it's on a flash drive and I'm guessing Arnold has it. He probably wants to let you do the hard work then expose their operations. The media will give him more credit and with the good deed of his he'll probably run for president." Vi finally said getting bored of their discussion.

"He already won the primary elections Vi, do your homework." Rey replied almost immediately

"Wait you know her?" Hano asked puzzled by Rey's familiarity with Vi.

"I have to get on my mission now boss. Excuse me ma'am" He replied ignoring her question as he left. Hano looked round the room again and started to doubt if everything happening were real.

"Are you okay?" Vi asked placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Mmmhn. What if he's not a bad person?" Hano asked staring at the dressing room and recalling how Rey helped her and the poor girl at the mall.

"A liar is as dangerous as a serial killer. Now let's get you home." Vi said walking out of the room heading to her bike.
