Chapter 3

After her brief interaction with Luca, Luna decided to be a bit spontaneous and skip the second period. After all, there wasn't much time left before the break, and she needed some space to think.

She couldn't help but scoff at her own thoughts. If anyone were to hear what was going on in her mind, they would be shocked to believe it came from her, Luna Laurier.

After wandering around for a bit, she decided to go to the academy's cafe. She felt as though the scenery would be enough to calm her.

Upon arrival at the upscale cafe, Her keen blue, green eyes quickly located the enigmatic figure that was suddenly inserted into her future, seated in the corner.

His dark brown hair, effortlessly tousled, gave him an air of nonchalant coolness. Luna observed him discreetly, noting the hazel eyes that seemed to hold a world of serious contemplation. His shoulders, broad and confident, hinted at a maturity beyond his teenage years, amplified by his pure white shirt, gold wristwatch, and black pants.

Seeing this, Luna couldn't help but nod slightly. At least she wouldn't be getting married to an ugly-looking person. Forgetting about her reason for being there, Luna walked over to him, keeping their eye contact.

Leonardo leaned back slightly, a small, almost imperceptible smirk playing at the corner of his lips. "Please go on," he replied, his tone polite but distant, as if he were humouring her.

Luna took a deep breath. "As we are going to get married soon, I want to make you aware of my boundaries. I won't tolerate cheating, and I need my privacy. Those are the only things I ask for. You're free to do anything else you desire."

Leonardo studied her for a moment, his expression inscrutable. The café's soft lighting cast shadows that danced across his face, highlighting the intensity of his gaze. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table, his fingers intertwined.

"And I expect the same from you," he said finally, his voice calm but firm. "No cheating, and I'll respect your privacy. Agreed?"

Luna nodded, feeling a mix of relief and apprehension. The straightforwardness of their agreement felt almost too simple, given the complexity of their situation. She stood up, ready to leave, but Leonardo's voice stopped her.

"Luna," he said, his tone softer now. "This isn't ideal for either of us, but I believe we can make it work if we both try."

She met his gaze, surprised by the sincerity she saw there. For a moment, she felt a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, they could navigate this together.

"Agreed," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. With that, she turned and walked away, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions.
