Chapter 24: Teased

Finally, after two hours of sifting through old documents, property titles, and phone numbers, I hit send on my email to Nathaniel. Who knew it was going to be so time consuming to find the name of one property owner?

I lean back and hear both the chair and my back creak at the same time. The stretch of my muscles feels great as I relax my body back into its resting state. It had been just over two weeks since my deal with Nathaniel.

The Chief thought it was a good idea that Nathaniel and I work together on the case exclusively since some of the media outlets would not stop blasting on their websites that we were still stumped on the case.

Technically, we were stumped, but it was because of the perpetrators being vampires and not humans that had us thrown off our game. Even with Nathaniel helping track down these murderers, we could only get so far with our investigation legally.
