Mitsuo's voice seethed with anger as he declared, "There's no excuse for what he's done to my granddaughter. He must pay with his life. There's nothing that can save him now."
With those words, Mitsuo swiftly launched an assault on Danzo. In a swift response, the loyal ROOT ninjas sprang to Danzo's defence, shielding him from harm. Not so surprisingly, nine chains emerged from Mitsuo's body, striking at the ROOT ninjas. His fists, engulfed in flames, unleashed a relentless onslaught against the other ninjas, as he continued his merciless rampage of destruction.
The relentless assault from the ninjas persisted as they conjured the Water Release: Water Formation Wall. Vast quantities of water surged within the confines of the ROOT base, while skilled water ninjutsu practitioners among the ROOT ranks swiftly executed the Water Release: Water Fang Bullet technique. Countless water bullets surged forward, aimed at Mitsuo.
In a decisive move, Mitsuo countered with his Fire Style: Fire Wall. A towering wall of roaring flames materialized around him, instantly evaporating the incoming barrage of water bullets before they could even reach him.
Nine Golden chains came out from the firewall and pierced the ROOT ninjas who were nearest to the firewall killing them instantly without any resistance. The golden chains continue to move and captured three ninja and strangling them to the death.
With the Fire Wall dissipating, Danzo seized the moment and unleashed the Wind Release: Vacuum Serial Waves. Sharp blades of wind sliced through the air, threatening Mitsuo's elemental defences. Recognizing the danger, Mitsuo swiftly evaded the attack, realizing that the razor-sharp wind blades could disrupt his elemental manipulation. Sensing the urgency, he promptly fled the scene, leaving behind the unfolding chaos.
In retaliation, Mitsuo gathered his inner strength and unleashed the formidable Fire Style: Fire Dragon Technique. A colossal dragon composed of roaring flames surged towards Danzo, intent on obliterating him. Witnessing the impending danger, Danzo responded swiftly by employing the Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere. The collision between the massive fire dragon and the swirling vacuum sphere caused the dragon's flames to diminish gradually, neutralizing the fiery threat.
At that moment, five ROOT ninjas launched a surprise attack on Mitsuo from behind. However, Mitsuo effortlessly defended against their assaults using his Adamantine Sealing Chains. He left them no opportunity to recover, swiftly killing them with lethal efficiency. Only a mere 10% of Danzo's subordinates remained alive following the devastating attack on Kushina and Mitsuo.
Danzo, witnessing the dire outcome and seething with anger, realized that he couldn't overcome Mitsuo's power without the intervention of Hiruzen. Yet, observing Hiruzen's apparent lack of intention to intervene in the matter, Danzo's frustration grew.
Just as Mitsuo prepared to continue his relentless assault on Danzo, Hiruzen positioned himself in front of Danzo and spoke firmly, "I understand your anger and sadness, but I'm sorry, I have to intervene. You cannot kill Danzo. He will face punishment in accordance with the laws of our village, and it will be a public spectacle witnessed by all the Jonin ninjas."
"Hmph. Do you truly believe you can stop me? Even if both you and Danzo join forces against me, I can defeat you both," Mitsuo responded confidently. However, it was clear that such an outcome was implausible. Hiruzen, the master of all five natures of chakra, possessed immense strength, earning him the title of the "Professor of Ninjutsu."
Hiruzen calmly replied, "I permitted you to release your anger upon the ROOT ninjas, but I cannot allow you to execute a high-ranking member of Konoha in my presence. Danzo will face judgment before the entire population of Konoha, following a fair trial conducted by the village's Jonin."
As Hiruzen's words resonated, he released his chakra, and by his side stood Sakumo, who also unleashed his Kage-level chakra. Holding a blade enveloped in crackling thunder, Sakumo remained poised to strike at any given moment.
Observing the formidable presence of Hiruzen and Sakumo, ready to unleash their might, Mitsuo managed to regain his composure and control his anger. Aware that his actions could endanger Kushina and considering the safety of others in Konoha, he suppressed his rage. With an icy demeanor, Mitsuo departed from the ROOT base, leaving behind an aura of cold detachment.
After Mitsuo's departure, Hiruzen cast a piercing gaze towards Danzo, brimming with an intent to kill. In a low, ominous voice, he uttered, "Pray that Madara succeeds in eliminating Kagutsuchi. Otherwise, for the sake of Konoha, I will have no choice but to sacrifice you." With these words hanging in the air, Hiruzen turned his attention to Sakumo, commanding him in a hushed tone, "Apprehend him and confine Danzo to the depths of the Konoha prison." Having issued the order, Hiruzen departed, leaving Sakumo to carry out his instructions diligently. Under Sakumo's watchful eye, Danzo and all his loyal ROOT members were captured and taken into custody.
