Chapter 5: Embarrassment

"Who are you talking to?" He asked.

"I was just talking to myself."

"Is it your hobby talking to yourself?" he said in Spanish.

"No...I was just. hmm? wait... did you just speak Spanish?" I sat straight.

"Yes, is there problem?"

"Noo...but....but the teacher told me you can't speak Spanish...?" I said my voice getting lower each word.

"I never said that I can't speak Spanish."

I'm surprised. What should I do? I said so much bad stuff to him in Spanish while thinking that he can't understand me, that's embarrassing. I couldn't look at him after that. While trying to hide my face out of embarrassment throughout the whole period finally the bell rang school is over I took my bag and went straight to home.

At night I was thinking about what should I do tomorrow? I was so embarrassed I couldn't sleep just kept overthinking. 

Next Morning

"Mom?"

"What?"

"Can someone die because of embarrassment?"

"What are you saying? eat your breakfast and go."

I went to school I didn't see him in class did he not come to school again? I was happy but.. I was wrong he did come.

He sat beside me.

"Good morning." Said Hazen.

Huh is he talking to me? No wait is he TALKING?

"Good? Morning?" I said in a confused tone avoiding eye contact.

I was surprised because this is the first time he greeted me.

Just like that we started taking little by little. He didn't talk too much but at least he doesn't ignore me and talks to me and listen too. Hazen transfered here in the last semester so I told him about all the exams.

After some days we finished all the exams. Hazen didn't get enough time to study, how will he do? I thought.

Finally the exams are over.

Next day

Mr. Mathew was about to give the results of this year one by one he gave results to everyone, finally it's my turn, I was nervous but I was confident, he gave me my result sheet.

"Lia you did very good keep it up." Mr Mathew gave my a thumbs up.

I looked at my result sheet I passed all the subjects I was so happy. He gave the result sheet to Hazen.

"Good job Hazen you passed all the subjects it's surprising that you could catch all of this in just some weeks." Mr Mathew said.

What? How? he didn't even look interested in studying how did he pass all the subjects? He must be very smart.

School was about to end the Mr. Mathew silenced everyone.

"Everyone remember tomorrow is the farewell party." While the teacher was explaining things everybody started shouting happily.

I was not really excited because I don't really like parties but I was going because Marina was going.
