Chapter 4

After I talked to my dad, I went to the nearest convenient store and bought myself a bottle of beer. I sit in the parking space as I pour it into my mouth. I know my mom would hate me for asking this favor to my dad but I know this was the best thing to do. I don't want to prolong her agony. After all, she deserves to be happy and pain-free. It will happen if he and dad get a divorce. I know that my family will just slipped away in one moment but I have nothing to do with this. I did what I think is right and whether they like it or not, they will end up being divorced sooner or later even if I don't ask this to dad.

"My mom once said that if someone is drinking beer right at the moment like this, he or she was struggling from something because she herself experienced being like this. She used to escape our house and go to the nearest grocery store to buy drinks whenever she's not okay and I guess you're feeling the same way right now." Somebody said as she sat right next to me wearing a red hoodie, black leggings and white rubber shoes. She's also holding a coffee while gently sipping it.

"I'm not gonna ask if you're okay or not because based on your face, you're clearly not fine," she said as she turned her gaze towards me.

Wait, is she the girl from the bar? The one who's nearly getting harassed by a bunch of assholes? The one I rescued? Right. The emotionless girl was sitting right behind me. What is she doing here at this hour?

"You're the emotionless girl I rescued from the bar. I wonder what you were doing here at this hour? I asked as I looked behind her.

She quickly raised the side of her lips as what I call her. Well I'm just right until now her emotion was not easy to read. I don't know if she's feeling bored or something.

"Just like you, I am figuring things out, the difference is I am holding a coffee while you are drinking a beer. It happens that we went to the same place." He said as she smiled at me.

There's something about her smile. The way she looks. There's something about this girl and I don't know that yet but she's intriguing and it makes me wanna know her more.

"I wonder if I still remember your name. Hmm, I guess it starts from Z. Zach? Zild? I don't remember," she said as she tried to reach something from her brain.

"Zed." I said as I looked towards her.

"My name is Zed. Zedrich Meir Del Prado" I continued making her look partly shocked.

Okay? What's with this girl? I know my name sounds familiar because I am related to Del Prado Group of Company but her looks makes me wanna question if she knew something about me or what.

"Why? Is there something wrong?" I asked her.

"Ah- nothing. It's just, your name sounds nice." She quickly said and smiled at me.

"How about you? What's your name? I asked you last time but you forgot to tell me." I said remembered the moment that I asked her name but suddenly a policeman interrupted us.

"Ah yes, I'm Aya. Aya is my name." she said, giving me her hand. I quickly shake her hands with mine.

Minutes passed and we remained silent. It's just nice being with someone in a situation like this. I mean we're both struggling from something and I know we share the same thing. Even though we don't know each other and we barely see each other it feels like we're already comfortable with each other. I wonder what her problem was but whatever it is, I hope she will soon get better.

I looked at her only to find that she's restless and feeling uncomfortable like she wants to say something or what.

"Are- are you okay?" I asked, feeling worried.

"Yeah I am. It's just, are you familiar with Mateo I mean Mr. Mateo Del Prado? Are you somewhat related to him?" she suddenly asked.

Why did she know my dad? I mean yeah he's kinda popular because of his position in our company but it feels like she knows my dad so well.

"Uhm? I don't know him. Aside from that, we have the same surname but really I don't know him. Why? What's with him?" I lied as I explained myself.

"Nothing. He's the man behind the success of DGPC. Are you familiar with that? The Del Prado Group of Company?", she said, explaining herself too.

Right. Who wouldn't know my dad? DGPC makes him popular. I wonder if they also knew that the man behind the success of one of the biggest companies in the country is also a man who can sue infidelity to his wife? The man they are all admiring is a piece of shit who continuously hurts his family. I bet if they all knew that, he would look disgusting to them as much as I hate him.

"Yeah I'm familiar with that. I saw him on the news but I don't know he's name." I lied again. I don't want any connection from my father and I don't want them to know that I am the son of that fucking Mateo.

"It's getting late Z. I think we both need to go home. It was nice seeing you again," she said as she bid her goodbye and was already walking towards the highway.

"Hey wait?" I pulled her hand realizing that I made her feel awkward. I quickly released it.

"I should bring you home. It's late and it's dangerous to go alone here. So come." I will opened the door of my car when she suddenly protested.

"Uh no. You don't have to really. I can walk alone. I'm used to it, okay?" she said declined my offer.

"But still I want you to be safe. I can't go home knowing that you're alone walking on the highway when I can bring you home" I explained.

"If you're worried about me doing something to you, you're wrong. You're safe with me, seriously I'm harmless. If you want you can take pictures of my placards." I said reassured her.

She suddenly laughed about what I said. Damn, her laugh is contagious. It makes me wanna laugh with her more. There's really something about this girl. I want to know more about her.

"I don't think you're a bad guy. You saved me once and I am the bad guy if I think that you would do something to me" she said, still laughing.

"But I insist so let me okay? To make you feel safe. Please, Aya?" I pleaded.

"Okay let's go." She sighed in defeat. Finally, I'm at peace.
