Felina Rivas

"Maybe I unconsciously carried it when I took the wine," Blake said after much thought.

The bolts of scarlet lightning snakes, dancing around Scarlett, finally faded out of existence.

"Bring my necklace to my office today. Also, come and register for your final test," Scarlett said before walking towards the door.

Blake stood up while dusting his body.

"No problem. Besides, don't bring an unknown person into my house," Blake said to Scarlett, who just reached the door.

"You mean Brad? He's not a bad person. He's just aloof, cold, and direct due to his element – ice. Elements after character," Scarlett said calmly.

"What about Lily?" Blake asked.

"She awoke both ice and fire. That's why she is friendlier and can alternate her personality. Before I forget, you should be scarce for a while. The other people might ask you to join their family just like Brad, but not as peacefully. Lily could stop Brad from forcing you. But the others…" Scarlett's voice trailed off, but Blake got her message. She walked out of his room.

It made Blake pause to think. He felt a sense of crisis. After he woke from his short daze, he locked the door, activated the cleaning robot, and walked into the room with his bag. He learned how to operate the robot from the internet. The room was well furnished, saving him the time and stress of buying equipment.

Blake sat in the middle of a big bed in the room. He dripped some blood on both crystal awaken cores and started absorbing them. Absorbing two cores at the same time caused him some pain in his vein, which made him face scrunch-up, before easing.

"Two crystal awaken cores is the maximum you can absorb at the same time," Hecate whispered in his ears, not to distract him. When absorbing cores, a lack of concentration might send the energy from the cores into delicate organs, which can damage the body. In extreme cases, it can lead to death.

After an hour, Blake opened his eyes, feeling the increase in strength coursing through his veins.

"That's the only way to control my fate," He muttered absentmindedly.

He was about to access the Universal system and receive his reward, but a ringing bell jolted him.

"Can those girls let me breathe?" Blake grumbled with a scowl while hitting his bed with his hand.

Blake walked to the door and opened it forcefully.

"What again?" Blake barked at the person, only to realize that it was his new landlady.

"Because you got a house to stay, that's why you are shouting at me?" Eliza asked with wrinkled eyebrows and a scrunched-up face.

"I thought you were someone else," Blake said with a straight face. He couldn't show his embarrassment to the rip-off lady. Maybe she might ask for a fine.

"Well, let's forget about that. I want to ask you a favor. Can you please take my daughter to school? I have something important to do," Eliza pleaded with an enchanting smile.

"Go get a nanny." Blake snarled at her. He never liked her in the beginning. He has already paid his rent.

"Kid, if you don't take her to school, I will throw you out, and nobody is going to rent a house to you," She threatened with a bewitching smile. This made Blake squint.

Both stared at each other with invisible sparks in their eyes.

After a while of the silent eye-locking contest, Blake gave in. "Alright, let me freshen up."

"Why don't you abandon this house?" Hecate asked Blake. He is tolerating too much from the lady, while he easily gets annoyed by the system.

"Don't you find it strange that she rented the house to me when everybody is afraid? Calling me a devil wouldn't make people scared of renting a house to me. They must be scared of Jasper. But she?" Blake explained to Hecate, making her nod in approval.

"And don't follow me into the bathroom." Blake stopped Hecate with his outstretched hand.

Fifteen minutes later, Blake walked out of his house, still clad in his previous clothes.

"I need to go get my clothes from the school dorm, register for the test, and lastly, her necklace." Blake outlined his movement.

Eliza's house was just opposite his. Both of them were living in the same compound. It was fenced. He took his time to look around the compound. A tree covered in pink flowers was planted in the middle. He doesn't know the name. A well-dressed field coated the ground. The walls were painted white. The compound was serene.

"Hey, I heard you will be taking me to school," A tiny but sharp voice interrupted Blake's thoughts.

Blake turned and saw a little girl with her hair tied in pigtails. She was wearing a green uniform, and he guessed she was about five years old. Her emerald eyes said it all – she was Eliza's daughter. Blake estimated her height to be around three and a half feet tall.

"Let's go," Blake said with a smile. He didn't want to take out his frustration on the little girl just because he was angry at the mother.

"Where is your school?" Blake asked with a smile when they crossed the gate.

"Cloud Street. Not far from here," the little creature said to Blake.

Blake waited by the road to hail a taxi, but none were stopping.

"They wouldn't stop because they think you're a devil," She said nonchalantly with her tiny voice.

Blake looked at her nonchalant face. He couldn't contain his curiosity. "Aren't you scared of me, a devil?"

"Nope. My mom said some people just want to taint your reputation. We could walk to school," She said with folded arms crossed her chest.

Blake started getting interested in the little fellow.

"Fine, lead the way," Blake said with a smile.

"What's your name?" Blake asked her after walking silently for a while.

"Felina Rivas, but most people call me Feline," She said to Blake without looking back.

"Do you know, a millennium ago, Feline was synonymous with a cat? I don't know about it now." Blake teased her with a smile.

"What's your name?" Felina asked Blake without looking back while adjusting her bag.

"Blake, Shaun," He said aptly.

"That name sounds lame. Maybe Blake Rivas will be cool." Felina mocked him while smiling at him.

"Nope, I don't want to marry your mother," Blake countered her with a smirk. This is one of the free times he has to relax. Next week will be hectic for him since his time is running out.

"I never said she should marry someone as wretched as you. I mean, I could talk to her to adopt your pitiful soul. Your eyes look sunken and red from starvation." Her little mouth curled up into an evil smirk, making Blake's face darken. He was just sleep-deprived.

He just took the little devil to school in silence.

Getting bored by walking in silence, he opened his virtual screen with his verse watch, while walking on the road. However, his actions made people stare at him weirdly, but he didn't care. The holographic screen covered his view.

"You are not used to modern facilities," Felina mouthed with a smirk. She suddenly placed her index finger under her verse watch. This made Blake look at her strangely. He hasn't checked under the verse watch since he bought it that evening.

However, what he saw made his eyes grow wide. The verse watch expanded to the size of a normal mobile phone. When he regained his senses, he quickly switched off his virtual screen. Now he realized why everybody was staring at him like a clown.

"Goodbye. That's my school." Felina's tiny voice interrupted Blake, who was thinking of many things. "I could talk to my mom about adopting you." She didn't forget to mock him.

Blake just shook his head and turned. However, Felina's shout made him halt.

"Clean my shoes," a man standing close to a black car growled at Felina with blazing eyes. He was standing in front of the school gate.

Blake had to walk to the scene.

"Let the kid go," Blake said without asking anything. He has seen many insensitive jerks, but in his time, he didn't have anybody.

"She stepped on me," the man growled.

"She's just a kid. Just let her go," Blake pleaded with a friendly smile.

"Nope. She has to clean it. And as for you…" the man said while walking towards Blake. "F**k off!" He punched Blake.

"Fists speak louder than words," Blake muttered and dashed at the man. He punched the man to the ground and continued punching. After he found out that most people were just Awaken, his fear lessened.

Meanwhile, Jasper was sitting in his manor with a virtual screen flickering in front of him.

"Send Zion to go get him," Jasper said to Lucian.

"But is it worth becoming an enemy of Boris? Young master is dead," Lucian advised calmly.

Jasper was silent for a while before roaring, "He was my son! This is my city. If he gets into my manor, even Boris will think twice before fighting for a stranger. Let me see which lucky person he will pull out to save his ass."
