Oh Boy...Here we go.

Glancing up at the large gathering of dark clouds in the sky as the rain began pouring down heavily on the concrete, reminiscing of memories. A sullen expression looking back at me from the forming puddle below. The echoing click and scrape of a door opening, as a voice rang out through the alleyway.

"Hey Dabi, it's raining pretty hard. Are you going to come in soon?" "I don't care." Twice asked.

With a slight shake of my head, I responded quietly, "I'm good."

An echoed whisper of "Alright." replied, followed by the familiar click and scrape of a door closing. Signaling that I was alone once again.

My head tilted back, soaking in the cold rain. A soft chuckle of ruefulness emanated from deep in my chest, slowly dissipating into painfully sad whimpers, a truly blissful sense of self-pity. I lowered my head once more to stare at the cement floor; watching my feet move me out of the alleyway and down the empty street. When a portal suddenly appeared in front of me. "Kurogiri?" The question immediately left my mouth, but there was no response. Looking around cautiously for any eyes, my feet led me in before my brain could give better judgment. My eyes went wide as the wind pushed harsh against me, staring down at the vast sea coming closer every passing second.

"Oh no-!" covering my mouth, expression turning sickly. "Man, I hate this."

My eyes closed, a familiarly unpleasant tang dousing my tongue, as the water hit my back with a painful-sounding slap. Opening my eyes and looking around, the dark figure of something large rushed towards me. Flailing my arms about, trying to get away. I somehow avoided its jaws as my hand gripped onto its thin, slimy, and scaly limb.

It jumped into the air as my head turned away, pinching the smell from my nose. "Fish?? What the hell, it's gigantic."

Blue flames encased my hands and spread widely throughout the fish, drying and perhaps even cooking it partially. Climbing up onto the limp and smokey body of the fish, a huff of breath left me as I stood on top of it, taking in the vast surroundings of water.

"Great, I'm in the middle of an ocean."

Sighing at the obvious statement, when my eyes caught a glimpse of a ship? It looked like a pirate ship, almost like from a movie or something but with a lion head at the front.

Something resembling a hand suddenly shot towards me and grabbed onto the fish I had partly roasted, it pulled me along with it. Proceeding to fling me into the air, a hand flew over my mouth "Not again." I spun through the air, when my eyes finally focused, I noted the two women that I was currently on a set destination to plummet into. Before the crash could take place, though, multiple hands suddenly stopped me as they set me safely on the ship. I watched, eyebrows raised as the hands disappeared, finally turning my attention to the raven-haired girl. 'That's a strange quirk.' the thought passed as it stored itself somewhere in the back of my mind.

My eyes drifted back to the fish that was now being dragged by a blond-haired man as a kid wearing a strawhat clung to the fish with teary eyes. "Ugh, excuse me but. Who are you?" glancing back at the ginger-haired female.

"Dabi," the reply was quick, my thoughts still rampant trying to grasp the current situation.

'Where exactly am I? Well, I know I'm in the ocean but...These guys seem like pirates from a cartoon.'

"Oh my, are you alright? You look terrible." her voice dragged me out of my thoughts as I followed her eyes, down to my arm before looking back at her.

"Yeah, where are we right now?" Her face painted a surprised expression.

"We're in the New World." My brows furrowed as I looked out at the sea when my eyes caught the sight of a sword moving towards my neck.

A beat passed as sweat formed on my temple, I managed to just barely place a hand in front. Though the blade stopped on its own, after just barely piercing the skin of my palm. My fingers curled around the blade as my eyes wandered up from the sword to the swordsman.

"Zoro! What are you doing!?" The ginger girl gasped.

"What if he's some secret bounty hunter or Navy?" The man named Zoro proposed the thought, the girl's shoulders slumped as she slunk back ever so hesitantly.

"Do I look like some Navy or bounty hunter?" My brow raised, a smudge amused by the situation. His eyes narrowed as he pressed the blade firmly in the cut of my palm, tilting my head forward. Slumping to the side, a widespread smirk formed on my face.

The staples pulled tightly on the strained skin; the swordsman appeared perturbed when something touched my hand. 'Hm?' My face relaxed, my head turning down as my eyes wandered towards my hand noticing some sort of animal examining my arm.

"Skin grafts? They're professional, but they seem to have rejected the tissue. How'd you get burned this bad?" The mysterious creature pressed its hooves to my arm.

"Just an accident." Walking over, I sat down on the bench. 'why do I feel like an animal in a zoo?' The strawhat kid studied me for a few seconds before a bright unwavering smile appeared on his face.

"Join my crew! Shishishi." He laughed truthfully in amusement at his whimsical decision. Blinking at him a few times, my brow raised.

"You're the captain?" Eyes drifted towards the other crew members who simply nodded back.

"I'm Monkey D. Luffy! What's your name?"

"Dabi." The name rolled off my tongue like second nature.

"So what do you say?" He waited, still with the same unwavering smile brightening his expression.

"No thanks, but you don't mind if I stay with you guys for a while? I still have to find a way back somehow." whispering the last part to myself, he nodded and chuckled.

"Sure!"

Leaning onto the railing with crossed arms, my eyes drifted off into the distance of the sea, 'I still need to get revenge on him.' My breath sped up, expression turning sour. Memories of Shoto and my siblings flew through my mind like a movie tape as a sigh escaped my lips. 'That skeleton creeps me out, I don't mind the cyborg or talking raccoon, but that skeleton guy makes my skin crawl.' Goosebumps covered my arm just thinking about him, grabbing a cigarette from my pocket. Setting it in between my lips, my index finger moved to the end and lit it.

Moving my hand back, my entire palm lit on fire; staring at the smoldering flame for a minute, reminiscing on past times. Before closing my hand, the flame dissipated. Grabbing the cigar from my mouth with my index and middle finger, smoke drifted from my mouth into the air as my lips slightly puckered to puff out a breath of smoke.

"Out for a smoke as well?" My head turned, eyes landing on the yellow-haired guy who I had seen dragging the fish from earlier.

"Yeah,"

I breathed as he grabbed a cigar from his pocket and slid it into his lips, about to grab his lighter. I moved my finger to the end of his cig and lit it, causing his eyes to widen slightly. The flame dissipated as my hand rested back on the railing, my eyes focusing back out over the sea.

"Thanks." I dipped my head in a sluggish nod."So you're a Devil Fruit user as well?" Glancing back at him, my brow raised.

"A what?" A chuckle escaped me as his eyebrows furrowed.

"A Devil Fruit user," he repeated.

"No, I'm not exactly from around here."

Pulling the now almost pebble-sized cigar from my mouth, I twirled it between my fingers a few times before dropping it down into the water.

His curly eyebrows danced in thought as my body straightened and my hands left the railing, they instead slid into my pockets before my legs began leading me away; I didn't exactly have a room so I ended up having to sleep on the deck. Not like I sleep much, though I'm glad I'm pretty resistant to cold because it snowed for some odd reason.

It wasn't a big deal, but I didn't want to get soaked when the snow inevitably melts, so I simply set up a wood plank above me to keep the snow off. I had seemingly ended up drifting off, only to be awoken by someone shaking me.

"Is he still alive?! He's freezing!"

A sigh left my lips as my eyes opened, my vision was a bit hazy as my brain made a mental note of their surprised expressions.

The ginger spoke first, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah? Why were you shaking me?" I pushed myself up off of the floor and stretched,

"But your skin is freezing!" Humming, some heat-cycled through my body without much thought.

"Better?" I stuck out my arm as she touched the skin with furrowed brows. "I'm fine, I have a high tolerance to cold." Turning my neck, it cracked satisfyingly as my hands slid into my pockets.

"Well, tell us next time, because you had us worried that we might've had a dead body on our ship!" The long-nosed guy huffed.

"It's not like I'm your friend, I'm just a traveler so what should it matter if I told you or not? It's my business anyway, if I was stupid enough to stay outside while it snowed and I didn't have my resistance then it would've been better if I just died and you threw my body overboard." I shrugged and walked off.

The ship was honestly fairly large; they had an aquarium, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a gym. Well, that was all I explored. Walking into the gym, my eyes scanned around, 'Maybe this would be a good place to train a bit?' Grabbing one of the strangely large dumbbells, I constructed some sort of metal training dummy. I focused on trying to aim and control my flame power.

Sending a decently large wave of fire towards it, I took a bit to inspect the dummy, noting the metal was slightly red. Making sure that nothing else in the room had set on fire or possibly burned, before continuing. A sigh escaped me for the some twentieth time, as my eyes skimmed over my arms; my hand clenched into a fist as I placed everything back to its previous spot, before sliding off my coat. Tossing it somewhere as I stretched and fell back onto the floor; managing some sit-ups then push-ups, and finally, a few pull-ups, after I found a bar.

I suppose you could call it a daily routine, but it's more like, if you have a job and get into the routine of waking up at a certain time, get ready, and whatever else you do before you get to work. I guess he just drilled it into me with how much I had to do every day; lifting my body, then down, my nose pressed to the floor on repeat.

Sweat dripped onto the wood as memories of him hitting me, and forcing me to continue even when my limbs ached, drifted through my mind, my breathing sped up, I forced myself to continue. Panting to catch my breath as I stood up, Images of Shoto, Fuyumi, and Natsuo crying filled my thoughts. Dragging a hand through my hair, I grasped the strands, hands shaking as my breath became unsteady.

Pacing back and forth, my hand balled up into a fist as it slammed through the wooden wall; my forehead pressed against it as I took a few shaky deep breaths.

Pulling my hand out, I glanced through the newly formed hole, our eyes connected as Luffy stared at me through the hole. After a few quiet moments, I pulled my eyes away. Grabbing my coat, I tossed it over my shoulder and walked away.

I never knew it could be this boring out at sea. Huffing in amusement as I walked into the kitchen, turning my head to look at the yellow-haired man who was currently chopping up some strawberries.

He glanced at me as he slid the strawberries into a pot and placed them on the stove with some sugar, "Are you hungry?" I nodded, eyes scanning the room. "Something specific you want?" I hummed and glanced up at the ceiling.

"Ramen?" Turning my attention to him as he raised one of his eyebrows slightly before nodding.

The kitchen wasn't half bad honestly, a little cramped but not bad. Draping my coat over the chair, I sat down; leaning my head back as my eyes closed. 'Should I ask about the "Devil Fruits" first?' Finally, opening my eyes, tilting my head towards the cook "Last night, you said something about devil fruits?" I began, waiting as he looked up at me before nodding.

"What are they?" I continued as he methodically decorated the dishes with a hum.

"Well, Devil Fruits are mystical and mysterious fruits found throughout the world that, when consumed, grant the eater a special superhuman power, at the cost of the eater's ability to swim. That's the basics, but if you want to learn more, then you can ask Robin-Chan."

Staring back up at the ceiling, 'Fruits that grant special superhuman power? That's…Interesting, and at the cost of the person's ability to swim? I guess the ocean is abundant, so it can be somewhat of a hindrance.'

Sighing as my eyebrows crossed. 'This seems crazy but... What if I'm not in "my" Japan anymore? I've never heard of these devil fruits before, anywhere. And I'm not just saying I'm in a different continent or whatever, I'm saying that I might have traveled to another... Universe?' Rubbing my temples, the cook set the bowl in front of me.

"Enjoy."

He walked back into the kitchen as he made up a dessert for the women, staring at the fork, I hummed. Standing up, I grabbed the fork and walked into the kitchen, putting the fork back, I rummaged through the drawers until I found some chopsticks. Breaking them apart as I sat down, picking up some noodles before eating.

Turning my head a bit, I looked at the cook who was staring at me. Slightly raising my eyebrow at him, as I continued eating. After finishing, I stood up and set the bowl and chopsticks into the sink. Grabbing my coat from the back of the chair, before making my way out of the kitchen; I stopped and turned back towards the chef.

"Ugh, thanks. For the food." He smiled and nodded as I exited, exploring around the ship a bit more until I ended up at the bathroom.

Humming 'A bath sounds nice, including the fact that I still smell like saltwater and fish. The choice isn't that hard to make.' Grumbling, my shoulders shrugged as I walked in and undressed; setting my clothes in a neat pile on the floor, I turned on the water. Waiting for the bath to fill up before climbing in, 'Jeez, remind me next time to not soak in saltwater for a day before washing.' I used a good portion of the soap, nodding in satisfaction when even the bath smelled of nothing but, what I could only assume to be, maple. 'I should try to think of a way to get back, I wouldn't want the heroes to get too comfortable.' A light chuckle left my lips as I sunk into the water, closing my eyes.

Rubbing the towel through my hair, I slid it around my neck, my clothes stunk of saltwater and fish so I washed, and tried to dry them with my flames, which didn't exactly go too well. I ended up burning my shirt on the first try, so instead, I set my pants on a metal sheet and heated that, which worked out surprisingly well; I did the same with the rest of my clothes before putting them on, excluding the burnt ashes of my previously worn shirt.

Sighing, I made my way out of the bathroom; sliding one of my hands into my pocket as the other combed through my hair. I realized the others were staring at me as I shrugged my shoulders "Anyone got a spare shirt?" Looking around, when the swordsman tossed me a white t-shirt, sliding it on, I sat down on the bench.

"How d'you get those scars?" Glancing over at Luffy who was currently examining my arm.

"They're grafts, and it's a long story." I pulled my arm away, he groaned.

"Then just shorten it."

He smiled as a short annoyed sigh escaped me, stretching out my palm. My hand lit on fire as he stared at it in seeming reminiscence, stars in his glossy eyes.

"So you're a Devil Fruit user too?" Shaking my head, he tilted his head. "Why are they blue?"

I was about to answer when someone interrupted "Blue flames are hotter than red, that's why the flames are blue, when normal flames reach a certain temperature they change color, red, purple, then blue. It's said that blue flames are so hot that they feel cold." Looking up at the long-nosed male, we watched as he dropped a stick onto my hand.

It turned to ashes as Luffy looked in awe, "Cool! I wanna feel!" he stretched his hand out to touch the flames as my hand closed and the flames quickly extinguished. He looked at me with a disappointed expression.

"You're going to burn yourself if you do that," I warned and slightly berated for his lack of care as he pouted.

"Do they feel cold?"

"…Yeah, it feels more like ice than flames. But they burn the same." looking down at my hand, frozen. 'Burn like below freezing temperatures-' Someone suddenly shouted.

"Get ready to dock!" Glancing up at the woman, everyone started moving around.

"An island?" Humming, I stood up and slid my hands into my pockets before walking towards the bow of the ship as my eyes surveyed the new surroundings.

We docked the ship as everyone hopped off, "We have to restock on food here."

The gingered female said as I took off to wander around the town. Glancing at the forted building on top of the hill. 'That place doesn't look good…' A slight unease settled in my stomach as I continued walking. Lazy and uninterested eyes scanned around at the many shops.

Walking into a clothing store, I bought some t-shirts and other clothes with the money I had pickpocketed from people; meeting back up with the others didn't take long, but I noticed the captain wasn't back yet. Looking around a bit, I caught a glimpse of him rapidly running from a stampede of Navy soldiers, "Tch." The corner of my mouth tugged with the threat of a probable morbidly excited smirk, he ran past me.

"After them!"

Letting a controlled smirk form, I tossed the bag of clothes onto the ship and stretched out my arms while setting the surrounding area around the soldiers on fire. Sharing a staring contest with the large Navy captain for a bit when he put his enormous fists together and cracked his neck.

"You wanna tussle tussle with the muscle muscle!?!"

He shouted before running towards the flames, the sudden tug of something on my coat pulled me back from my possible morbid thoughts and actions. It wrapped around my waist as it pulled me back onto the ship.

Looking back, Luffy smiled. He unwrapped his rubbery arm from me before chuckling, an accomplished smile spread across his face; glancing back at the island, we watched them toss water onto my flames to put them out.

"Tussle tussle with the muscle muscle? Who even says that???" Zoro said as I pointed back at the group of marines.

"He does." Sitting down, the childish captain began bugging me with questions once again.

A few days have passed, I was looking down at my reflection in the clear ocean water when a large dark figure suddenly appeared under the surface, my eyes widened as I stumbled back from the railing. The figure broke the surface as it launched itself from the water and over the ship.

"Damn fish, why are they so huge?!?"

The thought slipped into words as Zoro sliced it into pieces. Standing back and watching as the pieces fell onto the deck and into the water, Luffy caught what he could as he smiled brightly at the pile he had managed.

"I guess this could work for dinner."

The cook said as he dragged a few pieces into the kitchen, my nose scrunched in disgust as the smell of fish and saltwater entered my nostrils.

"Do you not like fish?"

The raven-haired female appeared beside me. Nodding, my hands slid into my pockets. My legs led me to the bow of the ship. I leaned against the railing as my eyes closed, the splashing of the waves against the ship filled my ears.

"Would you like some tea?"

A voice sounded behind me, turning my head, my eyes slid open as I slightly jumped in surprise. My heart raced a bit as I stared at the skeleton.

"U-Ugh, Sure." He poured me a cup before handing it to me, "By the way, what's your name?" I finally quizzed as he chuckled in some sort of amusement.

"Brook, a pleasure to meet your acquaintance. Yohohoho." He laughed as I smiled unnervingly.

'Yeah, I'm never getting used to this.'

Twenty minutes passed when the cook called for dinner, walking into the kitchen, my eyes drifted across the group sitting at the table. The raven and ginger moved over as the ginger patted the spot between her and the raven, I accepted as I sat in between the two. I didn't miss the side glare the cook was giving me as he placed the dishes on the table; he placed a bowl of soba in front of me as I nodded my head.

While we ate, I watched as Luffy tried to steal the food from the other's plates, they finally decided it was time to introduce themselves.

"Where are you from Dabi?" Nami questioned.

"Somewhere far…." Their brows furrowed, excluding Brook.…

"Why were you standing on that fish when we found you?" Chopper joined in.

"I fell from the sky, and it tried to eat me." Their eyes widened.

"Are you from the sky island??" Luffy questioned through a mouth full of food as I nearly choked on the soba noodles, looking at him with wide eyes.

"Sky island!?" They looked between each other, seemingly even more confused.

"Are you a pirate?" Zoro asked as I shook my head.

"I'm not a big fan of the ocean." Setting the empty bowl down, I finished the QnA. "Thanks for the meal." Standing up, I walked out; sitting down on the bench, before drifting off.

I hope whoever reads this likes it, I've had it saved in my docs for quite a while and finally decided I should maybe post it and get myself in a stable routine of writing. I don't know if anyone else has had this kind of idea but figured I'd better post it instead of letting it get dusty in my docs. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!
