Unfallen

A genius fighter with a nasty attitude had fought every day, even though he’d lose some fights he had never once fallen. Even when knocked-out he’d be unconscious standing, and that was how he got the nickname ‘Unfallen’ Suddenly he woke up in a strange bed in a fancy-looking room. His ‘family’ was worried sick for him. The only problem was, he had no clue who these people were.

Chapter 26 - Feeling

"You can use it now, later, or whenever. I'll do anything you ask, it's my way of apologizing for what happened earlier."

He'll do anything? What if I told him to die? Would he do that too?

Anyways, I'll have to save that favor, didn't Olly make a big deal about him being the 'Ghost Sword' or something? It'll be nice to have this.

I nodded my head.

"Do you have any questions?"

I shook my head. I was hungry so I just wanted to get to lunch, we've been here for quite a long time after all.

"I'll see you next class." Kendel's false smile twitched; it looked a little real for a second before I was instantly in the cafeteria.

Ugh. I could never get used to that. Is it so hard to walk?

Looking around it was already dark out, there was almost no one in the cafeteria.

Oh, I kind of wanted to talk to them today... Oh well...

I got some food and sat at an empty table.

As I looked at the food, I thought to myself. Unknowing of the look on my face.

It's really been 3 months since I've woken up, huh...

I made the blue translucent screen pop up.

Name: Kai Steel

Age: 16

Title: Unfallen

Skills: Last One Standing, Steel Footwork (C)

The 'F' is now a 'C' did that mean I got better? I've been practicing it every day since I've learned it after all. Nothing else changed on the screen so I waved it away.

...

...I wonder what Irene and Percy would think to know that I'm not Kai... Are Olly and all of them Kai's friends or 'my' friends...

Fuck... Kai... Take your body back before I get too attached... Please...

My hands shook while holding the silverware.

Shit... I'm not hungry.

I got up from the table and went to my room and slept.

---

At the same time, Olly was walking to the cafeteria.

'I wanted to ask Kai something today too... I wonder what Teacher had to ask him?' he thought as he reached the cafeteria.

Olly looked around before his eyes laid on a nearly empty table, Kai being the only one there.

'Oh! Kai! I was just thinking about him!' Olly had a smile on his face as he began to move but quickly stopped in his tracks.

'Kai?'

Kai's hands were shaking, his eyes were fixated on the table.

'Why... Does he look like that?'

Olly stood in the corridor and watched Kai as he put his silverware down and got up without even touching his food.

Kai had left through the other hallway and Olly stood still.

'He... I have to cheer him up tomorrow...'

'My friend... Just know that I'll be here for you...' Olly had thought as Kai walked out of sight.

Olly walked to where he sat and cleaned up his food.

---

I woke up the next morning, I had suppressed any bad thoughts and was acting as I usually did.

I took my shower then opened my door; I was about to head towards the training area.

Huh?

Sitting on the right of my door was Ella, after I walked out, she got up and waved.

I waved back.

She was waiting for me? Haah, that kind of makes me happy...

We both walked to the training area; Olly was already waiting there and as soon as we walked in Olly immediately ran towards us.

"Kai! Ella! Morning! You both came here together?"

We both waved and nodded our heads simultaneously.

"Hmm, I see..." Olly had a smirk on his face.

Looking around it seemed like mostly everyone arrived early. Kendel did say he was teaching us aura today so most of the commoners looked excited. Even the nobles looked happy, since he'd be giving tips as well.

"So, Kai!"

Olly suddenly called to me.

I tilted my head.

"Are you busy in 2 weeks?"

In 2 weeks? No?

I shook my head.

"What about you Ella?"

She also shook her head.

"Then do you both want to join me in the festival!?"

Festival? The word sounded familiar, but I couldn't remember where I've heard it.

"No way... You both don't know what the festival is?"

"Do you two live under a rock or something?"

We both tilted our heads simultaneously.

"Haah, the festival is to celebrate the winning of the war, it'll be going on throughout the whole week but since we have classes we'd have to go on the weekend."

"So... Do you wanna go?"

To celebrate something? Good food? I pieced those 2 together in my head before I nodded my head.

Ella also nodded her head a second or 2 after I did.

"Sweet! I plan on asking everyone later as well!"

"Spending the festival with your friends is the most amazing feeling!"

Olly smiled.

A few minutes later after we all sat down Kendel suddenly appeared.

"Good morning, Class."

Everyone got up and bowed.

"We'll get straight into class today, first I'll split you up into those who know how to use aura and those who don't."

Oh, please don't teleport us...

A straight white line suddenly appeared on the floor.

"If you know how to use aura, come to this side of the line, and if you don't go to the other."

He stood on the left side of the line, so I'd be going to the right.

"Looks like we'll be split up here, good luck Kai!"

Ella nodded and gave me a thumbs up.

It feels sort of nice... I looked back and gave them a thumbs up before I went to the right side of the line.
