Even when we got home, Angel stayed quiet. He simply made up the couch and went straight to bed. I was going to try and comfort him, but Carmen convinced me to just let him be.

“We’ll sort it all out tomorrow. Just let him rest.”

I agreed, and after she went home I got ready for bed. My phone buzzed as my head was about the hit the pillow. It was a text from Kevin.

I promise I’ll explain everything. Can you come over?

Sure, I replied. Carmen agreed to stay with Angel until I got back. She felt bad and wanted to help him through this. I told her to call me if anything came up, then I headed over to Kevin’s.
