Uncanny Scarlet-Spider - On Hiatus

Original synopsis Set immediately after the original Clone story-line. Ben Reilly heads to Bayville unaware that his past is still following him. Originally written by kiyone4ever. Yes, I have gotten permission. In Volume Three some of the stories were donated by Author 'whitenightredcross' with permission as well. Ben Reilly learns he is a clone of Peter Parker, instead of interfering with his Original's life he attempts to find his own place in this world. Going to a town miles away he begins his new career as the Scarlet-Spider. What he doesn't expect is this town is the home of a different group of powered individuals called the X-men. Watch as Ben Reilly makes a new path in this world. P.S. I kept the first 13 chapters of the original author (because I really liked it) and added my own details to the story. P.P.S This story-line has a lot to do with the comics... You might feel a little lost but no worries, the story explains itself in time. Release info: for the first forty chapters are 1000 to 1500 words, Chapters 41 and up are 2000 to 2500 words per chapter. Any chapter that was shared by another author was added to and often totally rewritten. But they are other people's work, to begin with so all praise goes to them.

Chapter Thirty Three:

Dr. Stephen Strange sorcerer supreme, had been tracking down an errant dimensional energy. It seemed that somewhere in the multiverse someone was messing with things they did not fully understand. One of his primary purposes as the newly elected Sorcerer Supreme, was to make sure energies like this wouldn't affect their little part of the multiverse.

Which seemed harder to do today for some reason... The only explanation he could think of was that it must have been a machine of some kind; he doubted not many of the immortal beings would be opening sloppy portals to other realities. The energy was constantly fading in and out, appearing at different places around the world. If the dimensional energy wasn't contained soon, he was afraid things from this world would get rearranged or sucked into the other. It would be fine if it was a car or building, but if people got sucked in that would be a real problem he didn't want.

The only issue was, there was very little he could do when things like this happened… he could only attempt to follow the random pattern and hope things don't get messy along the way.

With a swish the cloak of levitation swept the good doctor away at the next appearance of the unstable energy, "Good," Dr. Strange said aloud. It looked like its next appearance was going to be in the Sahara Desert, "At least there weren't too many people around that area." Strange thought as he created a portal that would bring him where he felt the space becoming turbid.

SAHARA DESERT BATTLEFIELD

Amidst the discussing figures of the X-men and SHIELD agents Scott was starting to lose his patience. He had come here to take down Magneto and his schemes, not to set around and talk about how they planned to bring down the enemy. Releasing a sigh, Scott sat heavily in a chair looking out a window. Scott knew the importance of a good plan in battle. It was a necessity, and he knew he was being a little impetuous wanting to rush in… But this felt too slow at the moment.

Silently he closed his eyes and images of his family briefly flashed before them. He wondered what Alex would be like if he was able to grow up like himself… He was always so carefree and easy going, he wished he could have another conversation with him. Opening his eyes again he spotted something he hadn't expected…

Shooting up out of his seat he saw a massive part of the dome structure in the distance had been ripped off and be thrown into the distance like a piece of trash. Narrowing his eyes, he spotted several figures escape from the dome in multiple directions.

Standing up Scott spoke to the crowd, "Guys there is someth…"

"Kid, we are going over strategy here, can it wait?" Fury said impatiently. He had been watching this kid from the corner of his eye, and he was acting like a spoiled brat stomping around an loudly sighing. Fury wanted nothing more than to kick the kid out of the room and focus on making actual strategies... but he wasn't one of his people and he already experienced the x-men's attitude on their team members. But now, the twerp was detracting everyone on one of the most important parts... He almost wanted to growl like his old friend at the thought.

"No…" Scott attempted to tell them once again but he was starting to feel frustrated.

"Seriously Logan, is this how you've trained your subordinates? I've seen more patients from toddlers and I have to tell you…" Fury kept talking dismissing Scott's protests.

"Dear GOD can you shut your MOUTH! They are escaping!" Scotts visor was glowing with barely contained power. He was very close to losing it over how condescending the old man was being. He was the damned leader of this group! He had let Ororo and Logan take lead because they had more experience with this particular group, but at the end of the day… The team answered to him, and this jackass was passing him off as a child.

Surprise and excitement crossed the features of the group for two different reasons. First Scott never lost his cool, he was always collected and prepared for most situations. Even when he had to deal with an annoying situation he always remained in control… It was simply who he was. The second was because they missed a very important detail and if they had continued like they had been they would have missed their chance. Ororo frowned at Scott's outburst. He was becoming more out of character as the time past and she was wondering if it was just his friendship with Jean that was making him lose control.

Then she remembered... today was the reunion of the day he lost his family. 'Dammit! He shouldn't be here at all!' She wished she had paid attention to these details, but things had moved too quickly and she had forgotten. If he was going to be reckless today it would be on her head, It was now too late to remove him, everyone had already started moving to intercept the escaping mutants. The only thing she could do now was hope he wouldn't get hurt.

BROKEN DOME BASE

Warren wasn't too worried about the wrecked facility; he wasn't planning on staying here too long anyway. The force fields he had installed secretly should hold long enough for Gwen to be reborn. Now all he had to do was await his revenge.

Spidercide had been standing around like a statue, he shouldn't had expected much. He hadn't let the clone have much of a personality, but it was still annoying. Maybe it was because he hated the face beneath the mask… even if he personally crafted that face, he would gladly slaughter the clone if he didn't need the man power for the upcoming battle.

He planned to punish them all, Peter Parker, Mary Jane and Harry Osborn. These three were the guiltiest, he would give his Gwen her revenge... and it would finally be like it was always supposed to be!

PHOENIX JET

Five people sat comfortably inside the jet making casual conversation, sometimes one of them would make a joke that would send all of them into fits of laughter that would last a long time. When they were altogether it wasn't like they were going to fight with their lives on the line. It was more as if they were just four friends hanging out after school. It felt safe, a life worth fighting for...

Unbeknownst to them all, underneath the belly of the Phoenix lay a man with a disfigured face and rippling muscles. From his massive form an aura of lethal intent reverberated from his body, most people would give him a wide berth for this very reason.

Kaine was literally holding onto the jet with every fiber of his being. He was tough he could do this. A couple of times he had slipped and nearly fell away from the ship, and it quite possibly might have ended his life. But he had forced himself to remain vigilant and regained his hold on to the slick surface.

He had planned to take Mary Jane hostage to force the two spiders into submission, but he was surprised to find them all loading into a large jet when he had arrived. Without considering much he had jumped into the landing gear before it had taken off hoping to find a way into the craft. But he was unlucky it seemed; the landing gear dematerialize back into a tiny space beneath its sleek body. He had to hand it to whom ever build the jet knew a thing or two about building advanced tech. He had been forced to hang on for dear life for several hours, and he would be lying if he said he hadn't thought of just letting go a few times. He was just afraid that if he did with the idiot Peter living his life it wouldn't be long before Aunt May and MJ joined him in the after life. He wouldn't accept that!

It had been his intention that once they landed, he would make his move quickly robbing Mary Jane without them ever realizing. Although he would never hurt her, Peter was too straight forward to think things through when that happened. But what he hadn't expected was the air craft to be so fast and the flight to take so long. It had been a misconception on his part. No matter, it would be his time soon anyway.

He would become complete, then it would be time to take back the life that should have be his own.
