A system?

Max was in a vast space of white light, as his body floated aimlessly in the void. He didn't know where he was but he knew one thing, it was peaceful. He surprisingly couldn't move his arm or leg, the only thing he could do was think with his mind.

'Am I dead?' He wondered, as he'd imagined what it would be like if he died. He'd read from books, fantasy novels, of the things people saw when they died. From his analysis, most people usually saw a vast space with white background while their bodies floated aimlessly. To be honest it wasn't that horrible, as they were at the peak of their peace.

'Will I be reincarnated now?' Max chuckled a bit, as In some fantasy novels the MC would then be approached by a being or voice, asking them if they wanted a second chance. They would usually accept and then be reincarnated or some shit like that, only very rarely the MC said no.

"Haha! I can't believe he died so pathetically like that." As max was thinking, his attention was suddenly caught by a male's voice which spoke. He couldn't see anyone or thought someone was with him, as he laid upwards still floating.

"Hmm.. I guess he'll have to do." The voice then said as the space max was in started fading, his consciousness was being sucked into a dark hole.

"You died a pathetic death human, so am giving you a second chance. Don't you dare fail me or I'll erase your soul. And remember, become the worst of yourself you've never been." The voice chuckled, as max just drifted towards the black hole that was claiming everything in sight. Max wondered who that voice was as he didn't recognize it. he didn't know what it meant by that, but he clearly heard the first two things it said.

'Pathetic death? second chance.' That was exactly the same things he'd read in fantasy novels. He couldn't believe what was happening to him right now, as he couldn't resist countless thoughts crossing his mind with his body finally sucked into the black hole.

"Ahh!" A teenage boy with black hair gasped, as he sat up straight on the cold hard floor.

"W-where am I?" Max wondered staring round, when a barrage of sudden memories of what happened assaulted his head.

"Argh!" He held his head in pain from the current surge of information, as it hurt like hell! Soon the pain died out, as a frown formed on his face.

'S-so it's true.. I died.' Max inwardly said staring at his hands. He could see they were not the normal complexion, as they had now gone very pale almost as if he was drained of blood.

'That means I reincarnated?' Max wasn't sure if he reincarnated, but he was sure he died as the blood on the ground confirmed it, with the change in complexion of his skin.

'That voice, who was it? and what did it mean by erasing my soul.' Max wondered, still not sure who that strange person was that spoke to him in his dream. He didn't know if it was truly a dream or a trance, but he sure knew he wasn't normal anymore.

Gritting his teeth max struggled to his feet as his legs were still wobbly a bit, looking round he saw the lifeless bodies of Kane and his gang members. He could see their bodies were paler than his, as their eyes stared expressionless.

'She's not dead.' Max could also see Yuna there laying on the floor, he didn't know how but he could hear her breathing. From his memories he recalled holding her, then that strange white light being transferred to him, but at that moment he suddenly became unconscious.

'Wait.. what was that which flashed before my eyes?' Max clearly remembered seeing a screen flash before his eyes, before he passed out. He didn't know what it was, but he had an idea from the various fantasy novels he'd read.

"A system.." Max muttered. According to most fantasy books he'd read, he knew the MC's would somehow aquire a system that would miraculously save them, and give them otherworldly powers. Though the MC had to go through hell, and complete a certain quest or some hard stuff like that, before the system would then be granted.

Max didn't care much about the system, as he was just happy he got revenge on his fucking killers. All except one anyways...

Looking at Yuna max anger rose, as his blood boiled more. She was the main reason for his death, as she'd tricked him and he blindly fell for her. If he didn't encounter her and follow her down here, then maybe he would've lived a long life. the same boring way. He cursed her with every being in his fibre, as she watched him being massacred like a pig.

Moving forth max picked up a dagger, edging towards yuna's location. He wanted to strangle her with his bare hands, but for some unknown reason his body was irresistibly weak.

"See you in hell." Max smiled, raising his hands up as he strikes down on her with the dagger.

[Error!]

[Host cannot kill a member of his unholy otherworldly harem!]

'Huh?' Max was shocked by the sudden appearance of the dull grey screen with white writings, that appeared before his eyes. A frown formed on his face as his ignored the message, intending to kill Yuna. but as if on command, his body refused to listen to him.

"What the hell? she killed me first!" Max angrily retorded, hoping to speak with the being that gave him this fucking system.

"If you wanted me to become a villain, then why the hell can't I kill a stupid girl!" Max shouted like a madman, but there was no one there. Except for him, a couple of dead bodies, and an unconscious girl.

Not receiving an answer max dropped the dagger tossing it to the floor, his sunken pupils the trailed to kane's lifeless body and his fangs.

'If I can't kill her, then I guess I'll have some fun.' Max grinned evily picking the dagger heading over to where Kane was, crouching down he spat on the latters face as he flicked the dagger to his eye.

'How about I give you a taste of your own medicine.' Max grinned shoving the dagger down Kane's white pupils, blood spilled out with eye juices. Pulling the dagger out he also pulled out Kane's eyeball, out of anger he brought it close to his mouth putting it in his mouth and chewing it.

'Disgusting.' He spat it out like trash, he then proceeded to cut Kane's body piece by piece limb by limb. When he was satisfied he then moved onto the others, severing their limbs from their bodies.

'Ha! am a great artist.' Max chuckled a bit, admiring his deranged work of art. 'I think I'll call this masterpiece body diffusion.' Max smiled, seeing the limbs of the five men severed from their bodies.

After some while of admiration reality then dawned on him, as the sudden thought of what to do next hit him. Small balls of tears formed in his eyes strolling down, a stinging pain piercing his chest.

'I can't go back looking like this.' Max thought as Layla would eventually notice something was wrong, and it may lead to bigger problems. Another reason he didn't want to go back home, was because he didn't want to cause trouble for Layla and his family, as he knew this was far from over.

'Where would I stay?' He pondered as he didn't have enough money to rent a room, and he didn't buy the idea of sleeping in an alley. Glancing to Yuna, he came up with an idea as he checked her purse. luckily he found her phone, card, and some decent amount of cash in it.

"This'll do." He softly said, taking her purse and was about leaving.

"No.. I can't leave her here." Max was pissed off and annoyed he couldn't kill Yuna, as he'd died because of her. If he chose to leave her here then she'd surely wake up and spill out the beans, which would spell trouble for him. He knew he wasn't human anymore, but he still wasn't that confident he could take out multiple gang members.

"Am sorry Layla.." He muttered, as a heavy weight fell on his shoulders. Shaking his head he vowed he would visit his sister sooner or later, as he just had to first figure things out. It was night time as the skies were now dark, some parts of the streets illuminated with solar street lights shining brightly.

'How do I carry her?' He thought, since his body was extremely weak he couldn't possibly back her, so he sought another alternative. Looking round, it didn't take long before he spotted a metal tray long enough to contain Yuna.

Rolling her there max then pulled the rope gently, as he made his way to the nearest lodge he could find. it didn't take long before he spotted one down the road, it had a sign listed by green and blue light reading heart lounge. He despised the name, but he didn't have another choice.

Entering, max could see a man in his late 60's at the counter reading a newspaper walking, he dragged the slate along.

"I need a room." Max said hitting the table a bit, causing the man to drop the news paper as he stared at max. The latter could see a hint of surprise on the man's face, before it returned back to his usual dull expression.

"200 bucks for two days." He lazily spoke, and max seemingly brought out 200 dollars from yuna's purse, handing it over to him.

"Room 11, have fun.." the old man smiled as max just scoffed, walking away dragging Yuna along. The old man saw Yuna being dragged on a slate but he didn't care, it wasn't his concern to begin with.

"Fucking junkies." he smirked, continuing back his business in reading the crumpled newspaper.
