Devil incarnate

“Aiden!” Chloe exclaimed and smiled as the little boy popped into her line of vision again. It had been so long since she had seen him but thought of him very frequently. Chloe remembered how she used to bring him food when she lived in Tulsa and he and his mother were her neighbors. “How have you been?”

“I’ve been fine, Miss Chloe. Did you know that my mum has died?” He asked, nodding and looking solemn.

“Oh my God! I’m so sorry to hear that, Aiden. Who are you staying with?”

“I’m staying with Lucas. He’s very nice. He gives me food and lets me play video games all day. I don't even have to go to stupid school and I can eat all the ice cream I want. He says you’re coming to get me and I can come live with you very soon. I’m so happy, Miss Chloe.” He said happily, munching on something and causing Chloe’s eyes to fill with tears immediately.
