Carlson chuckled after hearing Dan's response to the surprise! "The one and only Tony Stark, I'd watch out if I were you though. He's not the nicest fella I've met around here, I guess that comes with the trade though."

Dan nodded, his surprise quickly fading. After meeting Yao and Nick Fury the previous night, meeting Tony Stark was just an added bonus at this point.

"This is going to be an interesting day, I doubt that I won't be seeing you again after I get my car, we should meet up every now and then."

They both gave their farewells, and Dan walked towards where the two were waiting, bracing himself for what was to come. Tony was quick to speak up, "So this is the new apprentice you've taken on, I wasn't expecting a butter boy to be honest."

Ah, there it is, I was expecting something like that. "Hello Mr. Stark, the pleasure is all mine, Good morning Angela!"

"Good morning Dan, don't mind Tony here, he's got the whole arrogant playboy thing down-pat. He tends to just speak his mind."

Tony gave her a disgruntled look, which she promptly ignored. Dan hadn't looked at Tony properly until now, so he pulled up his information window.

That all sounds about right, I wonder if that's all there is though. He probably moves from woman to woman like no tomorrow, I can tell from the way he's looking at Angela. Angela seemed very aware of all of this, she seemed to be used to the playboy's antics. "We've got a busy day today, Tony's just here to help run some tests related to your abilities Dan. Don't give me that look, it's his technology that was able to detect your abilities. We couldn't exactly hide it from him."

"Wait, he's your apprentice, and he's the one with the Adaptive Evolution ability too? He's Dan Montgomery?"

"Yes Tony, of course he's Dan, but then again, you do tend to forget the people who seem less important in your line of work."

Tony gave Angela another disgruntled look, but he remained silent after that. "Wait, so what about work? Don't I still have to write some more articles?"

"Don't worry kid, I've got all of that handled, you're too interesting for me to wait an entire working day for. We're going over to Angela's place to run some tests, just to see how potent your ability really is."

Dan sighed, he just wanted to live live normally for at least a little longer, I guess that's just not possible anymore, I'll just have to get used to this kind of thing in the near future. "Alright Mr. Stark, I guess I'm ready when you are."

He looked at Angela, and she nodded, and Dan got into her car. "Your car is almost ready, we'll have a driving instructor take you over the basics, I'm sure you'll figure things out very quickly."

Dan breathed a sigh of relief, he'd been wondering how everything was going to work around that. He knew that he could have easily found a driving school himself, but he still appreciated the helping hand.

They all entered Angela's car, and she immediately drove all of them to her compound. Tony seemed to be used to all of this, this compound is probably not that impressive for someone like him. They entered the main building and headed down to the gym, Dan decided that he may as well show off his ability to the maximum, it was time to test his first Superior Booster.

Wow! That was fast, I guess that's what happens when the speed is at 160x rather than the default 8x. Dan had started his warm-up by now, Tony had already started to observe him, then he blinked a couple of times. It was as if he was making sure he wasn't seeing things. "Angela, is it just me, or did he suddenly shed a few pounds?"

"So you noticed it too? He recovers very quickly too, so you probably won't be seeing him take any long breaks. Sometimes it seems to speed up, sometimes it's slower. It seems that this is one of those times when the Adaptive Evolution process speeds up considerably!"

Tony continued to watch Dan, who was around half-way around the field by now. "Your apprentice suddenly seems a lot more promising. Biology isn't really my area, maybe we should give Reed a call, he'd love this!"

"You're right, I'll call him now, he'll probably drive over as soon as he hears about Dan's ability."
