Chapter 39: Xin Yuan Tries

(AN: I am back!Now, why did I disappear once more? Well, you can blame that on me binge reading all 800+ chapters of Chrysalis HAHAHAHA that and reading some manga.)

Everything was going well for Xin Yuan so far. The plan that their Vice-sect leader brought up all those years ago was finally nearing its end. They had already placed the "seeds" that they needed in order to raise their power within a majority of the other cities. Once the seeds have been placed, they will slowly grow and develop, and one day, all the sects in which they placed their "seeds" in would fuse with the Gilded Dragon guild once they had kicked the current sect leader out of their seats. This would lead to them becoming a massive supersect that's cable of matching up to those within the Central region.

It was all going so well!

Unfortunately for Xin Yuan and ther faction within the Gilded Dragon guild, there now seems to be an obstacle that could potentially destroy their whole plan. What was even worse was that this obstacle was in the form of a mere child! It was a terrifying and monstrous child!

"Staying silent?" Ulquiorra said emotionlessly as he raised up his finger.

Xin Yuan grit his teeth. He didn't want the plan to fail, but there was something he hated even more. It was to slowly die a dog's death!

"Wait!" Xin Yuan said in agitation.

Ulquiorra didn't fire a cero immediately, but instead charged it up in his index finger. He heard Xin Yuan, but the finger retains its aim towards Xin Yuan's other shoulder.

"I'll speak! The Guilded Dragon sect has but one aim with the Vastmoon sect! It is to nurture them into a super sect! Your sect leader and I go a long way, and the sect has seen the prospects of your guild. Still, in order for it to rise up, we have to first make your sect into a vassal sect so it'll have a thick tree to latch upon in order to prevent it from being blown away by storms that may come towards it." Xin Yuan said with a tone that seemed to show that he has given up.

Ulquiorra paused for a bit before speaking out.

"Continue."

Xin Yuan laughed inwardly.

'Monstrous you may be, but you are still a child! Naive.' Xin Yuan thought.

Xin Yuan spoke out more about their so called plans. He lied more and more whilst Ulquiorra stayed silent. Xin Yuan did his utmost to make it seem as if he was telling the truth. His tone was desperate, and he even used his other arm to make gestures in order to give a better visualization. After awhile. Xin Yuan finished telling his lies.

"That's the plan we had from top to bottom. It is all for the good of the Vastmoon sect." Xin Yuan said.

Ulquiorra stared at Xin Yuan.

"He's lying through his teeth. What's even worse is that he was pretty convincing during the first half. Unfortunately, he started to exaggerate when the latter half came." The voice of Tian Cai rang out inside Ulquiorra's head.

"I knew from the start." Ulquiorra replied in his head.

"Then why?" Tian Cai asked back with a curious tone. He didn't understand why had Ulquiorra let such a person spout such lies for so long. If it was him, he would've stopped Xin Yuan halfway through, and forcibly got the truth. The Heavenly Dragon sect had the methods to do so.

Ulquiorra paused before speaking back in his mind.

"I wanted to see his heart."

Tian Cai raised an eyebrow within the artifact's space.

"Care to elaborate?" Tian Cai asked.

"I've seen numerous types of hearts so far in this world. In the face of danger, some were determined to face the odds head on, some were in despair, while some accepted it. This time, I was able to see a heart of deception and trickery." Ulquiorra replied.

Ulquiorra could hear a sigh from Tian Cai.

"There are many people like this in the cultivation world. This is even more common within cultivators that have lived a long life." Tian Cai said.

Ulquiorra didn't reply. It wad thanks to this conversation that Xin Yuan thought that he was finally out of danger. He was relieved inwardly, and was glad his lies worked.

"If that is all, then you should spare me. As you can see, I-" Xin Yuan spoke out before the pressure he experienced before weighed down on his soul once more. This time it eas strong enough that he directly passed out with foam coming out his mouth.

Ulquiorra then stored away Xin Yuan in his pearl. He learned from Tian Cai that he could store even other living things provided the being allowed it or if he could overpower the being he wanted to store. In this case, he overpowered Xin Yuan.

"The Heavenly Dragon sect has methods to get the truth from him." Tian Cai said.

"I see." Ulquiorra replied.

Tian Cai didn't speak anymore. He knew that this was already Ulquiorra giving the go signal. It was now time for him to fetch the new visitor to the pearl. He had much to say with him.

Ulquiorra looked towards the direction ofthe sect.

"For now, I'll return to the sect. There's still someone I have to deal with.",
