Getting to know

It was 11:30 am when she received a text from her grandmother, reminding her of the date around 3 pm. She replied to assure her that she will be there so that she will not be bombarded with texts and calls from her.

XiennaYan always has a strong sense of time, she would rarely be late and is always on-time.

When she arrived at the venue Z cafe and tea leaf it was already 2:55 she still has 5 more minutes to find the room. Walking inside the cafe she was amazed. The ambiance compliments the scenery with the scent of a roasted coffee bean and a scent of tea leaf.

At exactly 3 pm she is already in front of room 107. She softly knocks on the door before opening the door, as she opens and steps inside the room. A slightly sweet aroma of black tea welcomed her nose. A gentle raspy voice can also be heard inside. Following where the source of the voice came from, she sees a charismatic man sitting at the table. Observing the man as he steeped his tea in a composed manner. And at the same time talking on the phone with hostility to the person on the other side of the phone.

XiennaYan slightly inhaled to relax herself as she broke off her stare. After making sure that she is calm, she finally picked up her pace and walked towards the table. As she sat down on the soft cushion opposite the man, she took a glimpse at him when he unexpectedly looked at her.

Seeing his face up close. She couldn't help but notice every detail on his face. His subtle eyes, perfect nose, and alluring lips compliment his aristocratic aura.

She stayed silent until he finished his phone call. For a brief moment, they shared an unexplained sensitivity for each other. She quickly returned to her senses. Her slightly blushing face was stunned with pure esteemed flash in her clear eyes.

MuChen took notice of her presence and pause briefly to look at the person who just arrived. And with that brief pause, something sparks deep within his eyes. He nods at her, as he plainly responded to the person on the other line. - "Decline the proposal, as for the others check it first and accept who fits." with that he ended the call.

MuChen was actually reluctant to attend this date considering what happened yesterday. But with the continued persistence of his grandmother, he was unable to decline. Since yesterday until earlier he received a text or call telling him how important it is and he must be here.

He looks at the lady sitting opposite him, he remembers it was the lady who introduces herself yesterday to him. As he tried to remember her name... -

"Hello, I'm Lin XiennaYan." she said only when after she saw him put his phone away. "I'm sorry for my abrupt behavior yesterday, you might not remember..."

"It's alright I remember you from yesterday at the apartment, right?" offering her a cup of tea, his clean-cut face was at ease as he continued - "Hello, Ms. Lin. I'm Yang MuChen"

She smiled, picking up her cup to take a sip, then ask "Did I make you wait long Mr. Yang?"

"I just arrived here as well," MuChen answered simply, as he the menus on the side and giving one at her. "Let's order something first I heard that this place also specializes in their cakes. Making their famous coffee and tea more tempting if they go together with their cake."

As she glances at the desserts on the menu she said... "I'm not into sweets, I'm good with this," XiennaYan said as she sipped her tea.

"You don't like sweets? That cake might be to your liking." as he pointed on the coffee cake on the menu "I also don't like sweets, and this cake compliments with this tea. I order it when I'm here"

"Then if you don't mind, let me also order the same as what you have. I will not take a pass with this good recommendation Mr. Yang." she said ordering the same cake as his.

"Please, Ms. Lin, you can drop the formality. Mr.Yang is how people address my father and grandfather." He said trying to drop the formalities and awkward atmosphere. "You can call me by my first name MuChen or Chen."

"Then please, You can also call me Xienna or Yan after all my name quite long, I don't want you to be bothered MuChen." As she finished her sentence the cake they ordered was serve.

They continue to talk in a friendly atmosphere. They began to get to know each other more, in an aspect where you can say their personality clicked with each other. As if they were long time friends, as they forgot that they were on a blind date.

She found out that like her, he was also put on several blind dates because of his grandmother's insistence. Also, he is currently managing their family business, as his father wanted to take an early rest. She did not ask more what kind and type of business is it. But sooner or later she will learn that the man in front of her is the most powerful and most eligible bachelor in C city.

She told him what happened to her 4 years ago and what she has been doing. Like how she found out that her fiancee has been cheating on her. How she has almost accused and her cutting ties with her paternal Lin family. And some other trivial matters that happened in the past 4 years she was abroad.

Times passed by before they notice that it was already getting dark outside.

As they went outside the room MuChen offered her to ride with him since they are going to the same place. Considering that the place is located in a remote area. And the fact that she has to walk on to the next corner to get a taxi, she hesitatingly accepted the offer.

Arriving at the counter, she offered to pay half of the bill. But MuChen insisted on himself to pay, with the reason because he is the man.

She waited for him beside the doorway frame, while leaning on the wall. She notices not far from where she is standing was a couple walking towards her way. The lady clinging to the man's arm saying sweet words to each other. As they neared her the lady took notice of XiennaYan and was slightly appalled at seeing her. But was able to control and calm herself and pretentiously act with her usual sweet kind sister she was.
