Charlotte's Invitation

Jack was moving towards the location of his lecture, when he suddenly encountered a group of ladies. The group was chatting as they laughed with each other. But the moment that they encountered Jack, they all stopped and looked at him.

This group of girls was consisted of 4 beauties of different levels. But of course, one of them stood out. It was a lady with long black hair that was tied into a ponytail, gray eyes, with a well crafted face.

She was quite tall, standing about 176 cm, standing out among the group of four, not only due to the beauty, but due to the height.

"There comes the cold Prince. He is charming but he's too cold." One of the ladies commented.

"It would have been quite fun if he was a little warm. He doesn't talk that much, right?" Another one interjected.

"Hey Jack, what do you think about going out on a date with us? We can just spend some time together, and enjoy ourselves. We can go to the park, watch movies and so on. What do you think?" Yet another one suggested.

"Hey, you're not supposed to say that. It was Charlotte who was supposed to talk about that part." The first lady said with a frown as she looked at the last lady to speak.

"Oops, my bad. I was just too enthusiastic that I even forgot about that." The lady responded with an apologetic smile.

"Humph! Just say that you want to get all the praise about inviting him out." The second lady snorted.

"But what's wrong with that? It's not as if I don't want that to happen. It is just that it is quite difficult for it to happen." The lady responded as she looked at Jack pitifully.

"All of you, can you at least stop talking like idiots? It is just Jack, not a model!" Charlotte, the outstanding lady in the group immediately berated the group.

Then, she looked at Jack and offered him a beautiful smile as she said, "I hope that you don't mind my friends. They are quite wild at some points, especially when they see a handsome person like you."

Jack had already encountered this group several times, and so, he had quite some understanding of this group of ladies. So of course, he did not mind much about what they were saying.

"You don't have to worry about that. It's just that I'm currently going to class. Should we talk later?" Jack responded, before asking.

"Wait a little bit. I was intending to invite you to go out with us. Can you come?" Charlotte asked as she looked at Jack expectantly.

Jack on the other hand simply shook his head in response. "You know that I am not interested in spending time out. There are other things that I need to put my focus on."

"I understand. But you have to take some time to relax as well. Additionally, if you don't come, there is going to be a group of boys that is going to cause trouble for us when we go out. They have been targeting us, and are definitely waiting for a chance.

For the past few days, we have not dared to go out to enjoy ourselves as we are afraid. But if you go with us, I'm pretty sure that they will not cause us trouble." Charlotte immediately explained. At this moment, she felt a little anxious.

Jack and Charlotte were cousins. Charlotte came from his mother's side, and she was 4 years older than him. She was also quite bright, and she was also in the final year.

The relationship between the two of them was considered quite good. So, from time to time, they would interact with each other, and Jack did not mind helping her in case there was somewhere that she needed his assistance.

It was just that Jack did not want to form deeper bonds in this world. At the end of the day, he was not intending to stay within this world for the rest of his life. So, it was better for him to make sure that there would be no hesitation in his mind during the time that he would be leaving.

So, all this time, he made sure that although his relationship with his relatives was not that bad, it was not that close as well. It was just that somehow, Charlotte liked being around him, more than being around Henry.

Of course, Jack did not believe that it was because she was attracted to his looks are charm, considering that it was impossible for them, as they were cousins.

Additionally, Jack was not intending to get into any relationship during the time that he was here, for the same reason of making sure not to have deep bonds with this world, and at the same time, it was because he had a girlfriend back in his own world.

Jack contemplated on what Charlotte had said. She had never lied to him, and it was clear that there was actually a group of people that was trying to cause her trouble. Though, he could not help but hesitate.

He was not willing to get involved into some conflicts that would not benefit him. So, he was hesitating, before finally making a decision to reject the idea of accompanying them.

Charlotte seemed to have seen through his thoughts, and immediately got even more anxious. "Come on Jack. What about this, you will help me this time out, and I will help you in case you need me to do something in the future. Or if it is something like money, I can give you."

Jack was just about to refuse, suddenly stopped the words that were just at the tip of his tongue from flowing out his mouth.

He had actually almost forgotten that he had finally activated the system, and it was not impossible for him to be able to receive benefits from it. That implied that if he received something from Charlotte, it would be multiplied by the system by 100 times.

"Okay. You will tell me the time that you will be going out. For now, I will be going to class." Jack responded. Then, he immediately went past the group of girls, with the other three girls staring at his departing figure.

Charlotte on the other hand was immediately excited upon hearing that Jack was going to accompany them. And so, she smiled even brighter, making the group of boys that was passing by to glance at her with awe.

Charlotte turned to look at a group of friends, only to realize that they were still looking at Jack.

"Are you guys not afraid that you will poke holes onto his back?" Charlotte could not help but ask in a displeased tone.

"Well, I don't really mind boring a hole through his back so that I can get to his heart." One of the ladies immediately responded, as if she was waiting for Charlotte to say those words.

The rest of the group of girls could not help but be left speechless. Nevertheless, they began chatting with each other, about the outing that they were planning.

Jack on the other hand did not know about what the girls were planning. Instead, he headed straight towards the lecture hall where the lecture was going to take place. It was good that he had arrived more than 30 minutes earlier.

So, despite taking some time communicating with Charlotte, he was not late at all. He found a chair, and sat down, and the admiring and resentful gazes from his coursemates.

Jack did not care about the attention that he had attracted, as he had already gotten used to it. Instead, he simply took out his phone, which was kind of old, when going to the current trend of the youths, before going into the internet.

Currently, he was looking for a place that he could use the betting function of the system. Of course, if he could find a place that he could end up getting better rewards as long as he won the bet, then, that was the place that he was going to go to.

But before going there, he would have to make arrangements, to ensure that he would be able to win. Otherwise, it would be a waste of time for him to go there.

It was a good thing that Henry was currently here. So, in case there was something that Jack did not have, or a skill that he did not possess, he could easily get it from Henry through the system that he possessed.

The only thing that Jack felt that it was a pity was that he did not come with the skills that he possessed in his previous world. Other than the combat capability that he possessed at that time, being considered as a superhuman, he also possessed several top notch skills such as driving and so on.

Of course, the skills were in his mind, it was just that he was not as proficient as he was during that time. So of course, if compared to the time that he was in his own world, and his time here, the skills that he possessed here could not compare to the ones that he possessed back then.

After going through a lot of information about several competitions that were happening, Jack finally found one that interested him. It was a racing competition.

This competition was organized within this city, by the young masters of several families. Of course, it was posted by one of them in their accounts, and Jack managed to find one.

'It is decided. This will be the first place that I will target, in order to get the money.' Jack thought to himself.
