Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. ~Chapter 50~

In a mist-covered woods, hidden from prying eyes, stood a dark castle. It was tall and also had an incredibly unnerving looking. It didn't help that trees and branches tangled against its wall,

Inside the castle was a labyrinth of shadowy corridors and twisting staircases. Dirty cobwebs hung from the ceiling like tattered curtains. The dry scent of damp and decay lingered in every corner, mingling with the faint scent of old furniture woods.

In a well lit room were two men, one standing with an imposing stance and the other kneeling with his head bowed in shame as he could not stare back at the imposing figure.

Malgrin stood before his master, the weight of his failure laid heavy on his shoulders. The dimly lit room seemed to shrink around him, suffocating him with its oppressive silence.

Malgrin had returned to the castle of his master, not as a mighty assailant, but as a wounded and defeated man. As he shamefully recounted his failed assassination as the air grew thick with tension.

"My Lord, it didn't play out like we thought it would," He began, defending himself. "It was not just the two girls that were present, there was also another one. But though she was a serf as she still had the druumcaris mark on her face, but, I couldn't fight off three Aswinesian women without back up"

He would have never told his master about the servant if his master didn't see into his memory.

"I tried my best and almost had the goddess before the servant woman came" To Malgrin it was as though the more he spoke, the more his master would take him as an idiot.

His master's eyes narrowed, his lips drawn into a thin line of disapproval. With each word that fell from Malgrin, he could feel the noose of his master's disappointment tightening around his neck, having him in a choke hold.

"And then… I escaped. Master—" Malgrin confessed, his voice barely a whisper in the stillness of the room.

A heavy silence foll, which was broken only by the faint crackling of the fire in the hearth.

"You escaped, or You ran away with your tail tucked behind your legs?" Were the words that fell off his lips since they had being in the room.

"That's—"

Then suddenly, without warning, his master lunged forward, his fist connecting with Malgrin's jaw with a sickening 'Crack!'. The force of the blow sent Malgrin stumbling backwards, crashing his back into the hard wooden floor, 'thud!'.

Malgrin tried to fill his lungs with air as he struggled to regain his footing. The taste of blood slowly filled his mouth. His master was not using entropy to fight him. Which simply means he wasn't worth him wasting his entropy on. He slowly stood to his feet.

Was he planning on fighting his own master?

But he no other choice on his belt.

"You still have the nerve to lie. I should kill you right now, since you are so worthless"

"I never lied Master" He said bringing his defense, but it was clear his master was not listening to his lying claims.

"You never lied? You said you fought three Aswinesian women? But it was merely just the goddess and the mere servant girl." His master's eyes darkened as he thought of his favorite men had just greatly disappointed him.

"Or no, let me rephrase my statement, a barely waken goddess and a mere serf girl who had last used her power in the S. A. D war. And you dare turn tails to lie to my face"

"Master—"

His master advanced immediately, his movement fluid and predatory. He rained blow after blow down upon Malgrin. Each one felt like a powerful blow from a breakaxe. Malgrin tried to shield himself, but his master's rage was unwavering, his fists finding their way to their intended target with an unerring accuracy.

With each strike, Malgrin's resolve broken as his master's continuous beating felt like a verbal insult said to break his spirit than an actual beat up. His body battered and broken like soft duck bones under his master's fist. Pained tears mingled with the blood that trickled from his bust lips.

Malgrin's body screamed for mercy as his vision blurred, his senses overwhelmed by intense pain. He wanted to fight back, to at least defend himself before his impending death, but he knew it was futile. He was no match for his master.

His weakened body soon fell to the floor, as he lost count of how long his master had been beating him for.

He was tired and void of strength. Noticing his weak and slumped body, his master stopped with his thrashing. "I would forgive you this. There will not be a next time."

He warned as he left the room, he stopped at the door before looking back at his half dead man, "It would be best if you died there, rather than come back. Because I assure you, if you come back I will personally kill you," Slamming the door. Malgrin had already passed out after his first warning.

"Master…" A timid voice called out. The master made no turn to answer him as he kept walking without turning.

His plans had being soiled, all because of the stupidity of his men. He shoved the doors to his throne room. The shove was so hard that the door flew right off its hinges. His steps led him to his throne as he sat on it.

He set his right arm on his knee, leaning his cheeks to his palm as he thought through his options.

"If only Malgrin had not failed his mission, we would have gone to the JINX of AGONY by now and had everything we have ever wanted."

"What to do, What to do!"

He groaned, gripping his hair as the pain from his scalp rushed into his brain, distracting him from the weighing problem.

"But JINX of AGONY is free"

"It is not completely free. As it is still bound at the Anly mountain"

"I guess we would just have to result in our previous plan of killing the people"

"How many more are left?"

"One was killed and brought back to the basement of the castle just yesternight"

"That would mean five more bodies are left"

"Yes"

The room was overcome by silence, as there was no further push for more conversation.

A brazen smiled spread across the Master's face as a slow chuckle began brewing from his belly to his throat, which soon turned into an eerie laugh that sent shivers down his dark legion. "Not an issue. I will send Malgrin and Gimi. I am confident in Gimi's powers. She should be to control Malgrin and recover the Goddess"

"You are still sending Malgrin? That pathetic fool that foiled our plans by sending us ten feet back?!"

"Regardless, he is still useful"

The man bit his lips as he opted to change his question direction, "I thought it was the other girl we needed"

"Yes. We need them both."

The voice paused before speaking again. "Why do we need the girl? There is no entropy emanating from her body. She gives off more of the human feel than An aswinesian woman"

"But she has the unique trait of the woman?"

"Indeed, she does… still"

"It doesn't matter, JINX wants it, so JINX will get it" His laughter raised and increased. His laughter still had the same eerie and disgusting feeling from it.

"Summing Gimi and have her tend to Malgrin, and once he is completely healed and in full strength, have them go after the grand prize and this time they must get it right! I can not have them foiling my plan before it gets through"

"Yes, master," one legion replied as he left the throne room, leaving behind the sound of his master. As he wondered to himself who his master had being talking to throughout the entire conversation.

Yes, the master, all along, was conversing with himself as no one was with him in the throne room.

🌗

Pained groans fell from Malgrin's lips as he felt someone aggressively manhandling his already wounded body. He slowly flapped his weak eyes open, and he saw Gimi angrily using her powers to force heal him.

"I can't believe he was pardoned. He is better off dead than alive. I am a force to be a healing physician for him. Insulting!" She yelled as she angrily stabbed him on his knee.

A lesser legion gasped as he watched the blood leak from his superior's knee, "Senior Gimi! You will kill Senior Malgrin," He cried out. He wondered what would happen if Malgrin actually died in Gimi's hands. The master would be furious.

"Like I said, he is better off dead than alive. In fact, I am sure I am doing the master a huge favor by getting rid of his worthless existence"

Her face morphed with utter disgust as she stared at his weakened body. She sighed, scratching her head angrily. "If only the master had sent me! I would have done as he wished, and even more. But this disgusting pile of nothing couldn't even last a second before tying his tail behind his ass." She turned away from Malgrin as she began to both aggressively and angrily slam her legs to the wall. The more aggressive she spoke, the heavier the leg slam became, and the more damage was made to the wall.

"I hate you! I hate you!! I hate you!!! MALGRIN!!!"
