Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. ~Chapter 58~

Hits, Beats and also occasional biting was what Bunasis used as a ploy to get her brother's tight grip from her wrist. Zahohr finally let loose after they were some distance away from the Oona and Hobris place.

"WHAT EXACTLY IS YOUR PROBLEM!!!??" She screamed aggressively at her brother. "You followed to be of help, not to hinder me. Why did you stop me?"

"Are you blinded by desperation, or are you telling me you have become foolish?" Zahohr question hit her like a ton of brick.

"What?" She asked, as her voice was suddenly low to a whisper.

"You heard me," Zahohr folded his arms as he stared at his sister with furrowed brows. "You remember they didn't want to tell us anything before, but you had used Oona weak heart to your advantage and got them to do something they clearly didn't want to."

Bunasis folded her hand as she attempted to justify her actions. "Well, I didn't—"

Zahohr immediately cut her words off as he interjected more of his own thought, "Also, let's not forget about the fact that we didn't pay for their services."

Bunasis bit her lips as she slowly realized why her brother took forcefully took her out of their presence. While Bunasis was dwelling in self realization, Zahohr didn't mind her and continued pointing out her faults,

"You acted so unnecessarily emotional about the entire situation that I didn't even know how to feel about it. YOU ALMOST GOT YOURSELF BLIND, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!" He yelled at his sister. "You knew they couldn't tell you Sephtis fate. You used underhanded tricks, when they finally revealed it to you, rather than you putting thoughts into it, you still expected them to interpret it for you? Then, when they are finally tired of our presence, you put up a tantrum about not wanting to leave."

"But it is their job," Bunasis uttered, as she had finally gotten a word in.

"Yes, it is their job." Zahohr agreed with her words but Bunasis knew it was a farce, as it didn't take a minute before Zahohr spoke again, "It is also their 'Job' to tell Sephtis, two gods came to interfere with his decision because they don't feel comfortable with it"

It was as if the more spoke to her the smaller she felt herself shrink, "I don't know about you, but I do not want Sephtis rage coming down on me," Zahohr breathed out as he glared at his sister, "So I ask again, Are you blinded by desperation or have you suddenly become foolish that you can not seem to think for yourself?"

His question came at her again, but she would clearly not answer it directly. "I am tired of all these, I just want to solve it and let it be," She replied instead.

Zahohr let out a stressed breath. He had just helped his sister for some hours, and he was already very strained and need rest. And here was his sister who had being trying to find a solution for Sephtis for the past four hundred years.

He understood where her sudden need to end the entire problem stands from. So he let her emotional reign go. He placed his hands in front of her, urging her to take it. "Let's leave Shidal for home. And analyze what we have gotten thus far" Bunasis smiled as she gave him a nod, placing her palm over his.

🌗

They got back to the study they previously were in before leaving for Shidal. Bunasis slumped herself on the chair. To say she was tired was an understatement.

Zahohr, rather than take a seat, he leaned on the table, standing opposite Bunasis so he can talk right in front of her.

"So all together, we were not given a specific thing to do other than to make sure they meet," Zahohr spoke up.

Still keeping her head thrown back, she nodded, "Apparently they had already met in the spiritual world which lead to his Constance dream of her"

"Well, that would make sense," Zahohr replied. Bunasis sighed as she rubbed the bridge of her nose.

"But what still bothers me is the path of them not being mates anymore and another god mating her." She lifted her head to meet her brother's eyes.

"That also bothers me, but it is a one in a million path chance of it happening," He replied. But it was a little hope that dwelled on the sibling's chest.

The silence that replaced the conversation was disrupted by Zahohr's sudden hand clap. "Well then, I better get going," he informed.

Bunasis arched her brows in confusion. "Where are you going to?"

"To visit our dear Sephtis. Maybe a little Nightmare can push him to the right path," He said and disappeared. Not wanting to listen to his sister warn him or even try to stop him from going to Sephtis.

Zahohr appeared again in front of the gates of his house. He clutched the scarf he wears to cover his eyes in his hands. 'I wonder if I would need it?' he wondered to himself, but decided best to tuck it inside his pockets.

"Well, now, I guess it is time to visit Daemarral. For the first time" He chuckled to himself as she enjoyed the little adventures he was treating himself too.

🌗

In Daemarral

Leaning against the bedroom window, Sephtis stood in front of a tall mirror that stretched from floor to ceiling. With his clothes discarded and only left with a bath towel tied loosely around his waist, he stood with folded arms, deep in thought.

The thoughts that were only consumed by one person and one person only.

His Mate.

He was getting tired of it. And just wanted it to be done for good. He didn't want to do as Bunasis suggested and accept his mate. It was really to go to be hard for someone like him to do so.

How was he supposed to believe that there was someone out there who would want to be with him? Well, it wasn't exactly by her choice. After all, it was a curse.

Yes, a curse.

She was her unfortunate to be cursed with him. Because there would be nothing other than the mate curse that would enable someone to see him and choose to fall in love with him.

Sephtis eyes trailed to the dry lands that is Daemarral. And an unconscious loose smile played on his lips. He remembered his dreams of seeing beautiful green grasses, beautiful silk floss tree and also a giant Marigold tree.

The sweet flowery scent that Daemarral gave off was nothing like this dry and eerie place he was looking at. The beautiful bright sun that shone down to his domain. The harmonious sound of birds and domestic beast that moved around in his land. The streaming sound of fresh water fall, flowing down and across to create shallow rivers and streams.

The singing voice of the woman that made it possible would stand in the middle of it all, with Cerberus at her feet. Sephtis remembered that there were two things that she would be focusing on in his dreams.

His mate would either be by the stream fetching water into her pail, just to water the tropical shrubs and trees.

She would seat on a chair with her legs crossed, and a knitting pin and wool would balance in a basket beside her as she knitted.

There were times she would stitch or even play around with beads as she would delightfully tell him what she was working on, and even offer to make for him.

And if she wasn't talking about what she was knitting or beading, she would calmly seat and listen to him ramble about his day. Sephtis had also come to realize that he was very talkative when he was with her.

He trailed his eyes over to his desk and there sat a small book. He took hold of the book. And without rush brushed through it as he without rushing read it.

The book only contained the little thing she observed about his mate while in the dream. It ranged from different things, from the way she walked, talked and sat. To the watering, planting, and harvesting. And also joining with her Knitting, beading, and embroidery. He had put everything in writing.

Then, soon enough, the realization hit him. He was heavily contradicting his words. His action spoke of the need to know her, the need to be near, and the need to hold her. But he says he is out to get her. He didn't know which one it was he wanted.

He was sure about the fact of him being happy with her presence and also being full of contempt just by the fact she was beside him, but then again, when he looks at himself in the mirror fully wide awake and conscious like this, he wonders if she would truly see him for him or only love him because of the mate bond.

It was as if he had finally understood his feelings. He wasn't out to kill her, but the crippling fear that she would not love him back was what brought about the unnecessary idea of death.

Then it felt like a pail of iced water was dumb on him.

But rather than hate his mate and feel annoyed by the constant dream invasion. He realized his feelings had changed from hate to another thing.

Just from the dreams alone.
