Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. ~Chapter 41~

"M-miss Ma-Ma-rina?" he stammered while calling for her.

Lifting her head from the dishes, she turned her head but not her full body, just for a second, showing he had her attention, "Lady Evangeline needs her morning tea"

Marina sighed with a disgusted eye roll, "I had previously informed her it was already finished. I wasn't given any Uolas to buy some more. Therefore, where does she expect me to get them from?" She replied, pausing on her dishes before continuing again.

"No Uola, No herbal tea"

Sir York sighed reluctantly as he made his way to inform the family. Marina continued her dishes, but she suddenly stopped once she felt an ominous and overwhelming amount of entropy sorcery let loose into the air.

"Someone is here… Someone strong" Marina quickly dropped the dishes and wiped her hand on her dress. She turned around and placed a silencing spell on the house, as she knew there were going to be loud fighting sounds, and she didn't want to attract unnecessary people into the crossfire. Turning towards the door, she made her way out of the gates.

🌗

Yeona and Sereia made their way down the stairs after having breakfast together.

"I am telling you the factual truth, the restaurant is really nice"

"Okay? And she named her restaurant after her name?"

Nodding her head, she explained some more, "Yes, it's called Kingi's Diner"

Yeona paused on the stairs for a moment while staring at her friend, who was still daydreaming about the restaurant. "Are the meals that good? Or they are just there?"

"They are wonderful," she answered truthfully, with a smile.

"YEONA!!"

A voice shouted from the living room. Yeona didn't need to look, to know who yelled for her. She sighed tiredly, clearly strained from the continuous back and forth she was having with Madam Evangeline.

"What do you want?" She asked, stepping in to view with Sera behind her.

"I greet you a lovely morning Madam Eva," Sera greeted with a sweet smile and was as fake as the Jewelries the Rutherford wore. Madam Evangeline bit her lips as she tried to regain composure.

"Lady Sereia, I thought you had returned home," She asked, trying to act as a delightful hostess.

"Of course not. My parents are not so classless to greet the host, regardless of how low and terrible their company had been." Sereia said this, still maintaining the fake smile on her lips. Madam Evangeline ground harshly on her lips as she tried to still keep whatever composure she had.

"I apologized for Yeona's incompetence to be of a suitable host to you." She pointed out, pushing the blame towards Yeona. "If you take the morning to talk to my daughter Lyra and Freya, I am most definitely sure that you would instantly change your thoughts on our home."

Yeona rolled her eyes at Madam Evangeline's idiotic way of advocating for her daughters. It truly was pitiable and also pathetic to see. But then again, it didn't look like Sereia was going to give her a time of her day.

Sereia, ever-so- tapped on her chin, and she acted like she was thinking through the madam's advice. "I do vaguely remember pointing out the fact that I don't know your daughters yesterday."

She stated, as she began walking towards them, "If at all I were to go according to your words. What is the guarantee that I would enjoy your daughter's company?" Finally, standing in front of Madam Evangeline.

Sereia stretched out her hands and took the madam's hands into her as she gave her the sweetest closed eye smile she could muster. "Do not unnecessarily push your luck. Everything you have, from the gems on your head to the heels on your feet, is all received from my friend's mother. So whatever pedestal you are placing yourself in—" she threatened as she brought her face closer to Madam Evangeline, "Come down from it by yourself, before you crash and tumble by the noble society" Her eyes glared hard at her and Sereia once golden eyes now turned into a neon violet one.

Fear rippled through Evangeline's body as she double blink, just to be sure she wasn't hallucinating, when Sereia's eyes suddenly changed color.

Meanwhile, Sereia kept a firm grip on the hand as she maintained her menacing glare. The pressure of Evangeline's hands began dawning on her as she made a move to pull away from her. But Sera didn't look like she was going to let go soon.

Suddenly, an icy hand landed on Sereia's left shoulders. This caused a sudden flinch from her.

Looking back, her eyes went wide, and her brows furrowed in different directions. "Mom?"

"What are you doing?" Anger laced on Lady Gwen's voice.

🌗

Marina swiped her wet hands on her dress as she stepped on her dress. Her face looked ready to fight who so ever was outside the house.

'It is probable that man from yesterday,' she thought to herself. In her head, she began calculating what spells she would use against him.

'I don't think I am that weak, or my spells are that weak, that he could recover in a less day a day? It doesn't sit well with me'.

She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. "I guess I will run with it and see how long he last — I last" with that said and down, Marina let loose of her own entropy sorcery that held her disguise. This would also make the outsider aware of her presence.

"I guess I could use sing entropy, to control the veins," She thought as she grazed her over the sharpness of the tall grass

Meanwhile…

"I swear by the gods, my lady, this is the house the young miss is staying in and—"

"Wait silence!" She instructed as soon as she felt a wave of entropy blow against her.

"I see we have company," Lady Samara said. She turned toward where the wave came from.

With her sharp fingernails, she dug deep into her flesh as a trail of blood seeped down from its opened wound. She neither winced nor groaned in pain. After all, it was not the first time she was using her powers.

Aeromancer.

"There is a sorcerer in the house?"

"Maybe, or it could be someone who also is looking for Claire's daughter. If she was protected by her spell, it should be weaker now that it's been a while since she died".

"The audacity people have‌," Lady Gwen remarked, rubbing her temple. "I guess I would have a cool down before face the Rutherford," She added.

She stepped forward, each step she took created patches of ice underneath her sole.

Both Aswinesian women had their entropy loss and were both back to their natural appearance.

"I understand it's been six hundred years since you used your powers, but try not to slow me down," Lady Samara taunted.

Lady Gwen only rolled her eyes as she turned to the driver, whose eyes had gone wide at the sudden change in their appearance.

"So, what do we do about him?" She asked, pointing to the driver.

Lady Samara watched as her palm bled; turning to Lady Gwen, she informed her, "I don't know, but I did like you to decide fast as I am leaking out."

Lady Gwen nodded as she turned to the driver and chatted beneath her breath. A sleeping spell.

"It all done"

They kept their pace towards the direction of the entropy. Soon, the two ladies caught sights of a woman dressed in a servant attire.

Lady Gwen and Lady Samara stood back to back, their eyes fixed on Marina, who looked like she was preparing for a confrontation. Gwen reached out, her fingers pointing upwards, summoning ice that glistened like a diamond under the sunlight, and they rushed towards Marina, who immediately responded by raising her arms, forming a whirlwind around her, and diverted the ice floe to a safe distance.

Samara, who didn't want to be left out of the battle, took advantage of the attention Gwen's attack brought. Her bloodied palm had dried up, and created what was a long trail of dried markings on its path.

She tied her wrists and hit Marina with a strong wind, making her strong and temporarily impairing her ability to change her voice

Lady Samara thought her powers are for summoning through the winds and communicating with the dead through the wind. But after the S. A. D. war, she trained her powers to enable her to use the wind aspect of her powers, at the very least to the minimum.

Marina stumbled back, her voice wavering for a moment before regaining control. She began singing some strange choruses in the air with intense determination written on her face, causing waves of energy to flow through her body.

The ground shook beneath Gwen and Samara as vines burst from the ground, enveloping them in a green kiss. Struggling with the relentless grass, they tried to break free but found themselves held fast.

As Marina continued her song, her powerful voice grew louder and louder, increasing the power of the vines around Gwen and Samara. Just when it looked like they would stop the attack, Gwen focused her thoughts and channeled her ice magic into the barbed pool that bound them.

With a sharp scream, the vine split into thousands of ice cubes, and the women broke free. As the remains of the broken vine fell to the ground, Gwen and Samara took turns checking for injuries.

"She is strong"
