Thinking about me.

Alyssa squirmed and tried to fight back and escape her perpetrator's hold. It wasn't until a familiar scent assaulted her senses that she could identify him. It was Calix!

He had her pinned against the flower wall in the maze garden and covered her mouth with his hand to prevent her from screaming.

They were in close proximity and Alyssa could feel his breath close to her left cheek when he lowered his head to whisper in her ear. A blush crept over her cheeks because of their closeness. 

" Don't move." He whispered in her ear again. 

Alyssa did as she was told and tried her best not to move. They both listened for any footsteps from Alyssa's pursuer. The stillness around them made it easy for Alyssa to observe and assess her current situation. Her mind had thoughts about her purser and why she was pursued not that she wanted to find that out first hand.

She then focused on the man who in front of her, ' What is he doing here and how did he find me? is this all a coincidence? It is funny how I always see him when I...Let me not think too much about this, I should focus my attention on figuring out how to get out of this predicament but I kinda wonder what he is currently thinking about, it is me? No, he is probably thinking about how to get out of this situation and I should probably do the same.'

She surveyed the area without moving her head and she did not see anything of use because it was dark. She squinted her eyes in hope that her vision will be slightly better and continued surveying the area she even moved a tiny bit and then realized what she had done and froze.

She peaked at the man in front of her but he was so focused that he had not moved nor felt her movements. With this, she released a sigh because she had not disturbed him. She looked at him once more under the moonlight and it hit her. He was really handsome like no jokes, Calix was really handsome like he had a face that many could die for, he could even qualify to be a supermodel and many would be jobless if he did.

Now she knew why the girls at the party earlier kept saying that he was dreamy! And it is not that Alyssa has never appreciated how handsome Calix was, it is just that she fell in love with his character and the air of a sense of responsibility around him. His aura was commanding and felt reassuring! And it was for this reason Alyssa threw away all the reserves she had for falling in love and actually wanted to give it a try.

Her thoughts made her blush once more with a tinge of pink over her cheeks and her ears. She ducked her head in her own world.

Calix saw this, in fact he noticed all the weird actions Alyssa did but did not say a word firstly because he was focused on listening for footsteps and getting ready for a confrontation with Alyssa's pursuer while making sure she can get away safely.

Secondly, Alyssa wore different kinds of silly expressions and even squinted her eyes and pouted her lips. She was just too silly and cute.

Calix felt like teasing her and then smirked at the thought and said, " Please calm down milady, your raging heartbeat is gonna alert your dear purser of our hiding place." 

Alyssa froze. She looked shocked and had the realization that she actullay got lost in her thoughts about him right in front of him, how modifying! Was her heartbeat that loud for him to comment about it?! But what does he mean by feeling her heartbeat? That does not make sense. 'Well, it does not matter anyway as long as he does not know what I was thinking about.'

However, out of curiosity, Alyssa peered over looking for the place where Calix actually "felt" her heartbeat and her breath hitched. 'Someone dig a hole for me right now' she thought. We were actually holding hands the whole time and I did not realize?! 

Calix's right hand was covering Alyssa's left hand and both of these were resting against Alyssa's chest in the middle. Alyssa felt her already fast-beating heart rate pick up even further, she could even imagine her pulse rate being above 100 beats/min! She tried to close her eyes and take deep breaths to no avail, the more she tried to not think about it the more she actually did. The contact was making her unsteady.

" I said calm down and not advertise our hiding place even further. What are you thinking about that is making your heart race?" Calix said as he peered over Alyssa with his eyes that held a deep and mysterious intensity.

" N-nothing. It's nothing, sorry." Alyssa stammered and she was inwardly glad that she actually mentioned to reply.

" Oh? Were you perhaps thinking about, i don't know, me?" 

Alyssa's face turned crimson.
