Mini unofficial fun date by the fountain.

We sat there by the fountain. It was quiet, the type that was tranquil and not awkward. There was no need for any of us to say anything so we just sat there and listened to the splash of water in the fountain.

After the peaceful quiet time we spent by the fountain, Dr Evans finally said something.

" The moon is strangely beautiful tonight." He finally said and I could not help but laugh at his comment,I did this before I could even stop myself. 

" I am sorry." I said while covering my mouth " I have a question, why is it 'strangely' beautiful, and why tonight?" I asked

" That is two questions" He stated then continued, " Which one do you want me to answer?" 

" Why can't you answer both questions doctor? I mean they are referring to the same event." I said 

" But you said 'a question' not questions and so my brain was only prepared for one." He said with a smug face. 

" That is not good logic," I mumbled 

" Pardon? Can you say that a little louder this time?" He said while leaning closer with the side of his face then suddenly turned to face me. He was too close! I tried to lean backwards but my body decided to ignore my wish to move away to give us space.

" Unless... you give me a reason to answer both your questions," he said while looking straight into my eyes. My heart rate skyrocketed because of this situation but I did not show it. I felt oddly calm and everything felt really natural. I was so lost in my thoughts that I did not realize that he had turned his head away and continued talking to me, the absent-minded girl. But why did he do that?! 

" ...expensive." That is all I heard from him

" I am sorry but can you please repeat that? I did not hear the last part." I said after recovering from what happened earlier. Now it was his turn to laugh and he laughed alright then said, " No,I do not like to repeat myself and you should not get distracted easily." He said this with a smirk. This was the reason why I did not like him!

" But then again this is the second time you laughed in my presence, it must be my contagious and magnetic personality." He said smugly and I chose to ignore this

 " May I say something doctor?" I finally asked. 

" Is it related to my great personality?" He asked 

"yes, sort of," I said 

" Then you may proceed." He said while looking straight ahead with his arms crossed.

" Ahem, I must confess, I initially thought that you ...you were not a nice person after the, you know, the ordeal that occurred when we first met," I said and nervously pulled on the coat he lent me. 

Silence ...

" But then again after working with you for a short while I realized that you might be a nice person." I quickly added that since he did not react to the first statement. 

He chuckled and said, " Then it means that our little cooperation must continue a little longer." 

" What cooperation? And why?" I said confused

"Dr Falls, you sure ask a lot of follow-up questions. Do you always do that?" He said while chuckling and shaking his head. 

" What? No, I do not always do that." I said 

" I only did that because I was confused," I mumbled 

" Well, I am not saying that it is a bad thing to ask questions especially if you are confused so do not get angry now." He said smiling.

" I am not angry." I defended myself 

" You look and sound angry." He pointed out 

" That is not true," I said as I looked away with my arms crossed. 

He chuckled.

" Look at me." He instructed 

" No, thank you," I answered politely, I felt like I was a child throwing a tantrum.

" See, you are angry." He stated 

" I am not." I refuted 

" Then look at me and tell me that." He said 

I moved further away from him instead of turning to face him. The shocking news was that he actually followed, each time I moved away from the bench he moved closer! The bench was circularly built around the fountain and we actually moved all the way around the bench and back to our initial sitting position.

" Okay, that's enough now." He said as he stopped where we initially sat. " It is time to go back inside, your fellow students might be looking for you." He stated 

" They would have called if they needed something." I said 

" Oh, Like the student who was supposed to call you to inform you about your change in schedule and the night shift tonight?" He said sarcastically.

" How do you know about that?" I asked him as I narrowed my eyes while looking at him. 

" And she finally looked at me." He said with a soft chuckle. 

" That is not important right now." I said

" Fair enough. Let's just say that the hospital is a small place and everyone knows one another and it is easy to get information even when you are not trying to pry into another individual's business." He said

" How I found out is not important but what I am about to say is." He added then exhaled sharply, " Be careful, the system of military and non-military learning facilities will put you at a grave disadvantage. If you are not careful you might be left behind or even betrayed by those you work closely with." He said and I figured that this was really important as he said because he had a very grim facial expression. Did he experience something similar? 

" Okay, Thank you doctor. I will definitely keep that in mind for future reference." I said as I gave him a polite bow. He is really confusing though, one minute he is nice the next you are not too sure about what exactly is happening. 

* sigh* 

" What is wrong? why are you sighing?" He asked and I took this as an opportunity to get some answers since he evaded all my questions earlier. 

" Are you really not going to answer the questions I asked you earlier?" I asked. He stood up and then said " Oh, you are still so hung up on those? "

"Let's see... I will answer them in reverse so try to keep up, okay?" He stated. 

" Wait, do you even remember the questions doctor?" I asked him and he simply answered me by answering the questions i asked him initially. 

" We worked together to save the little girl today and hopefully the little cooperation we had today will proceed until you confirm that I am indeed a nice person." He chuckled as he said this.

" Because of the company I was honored to have tonight, the moon was oddly beautiful. He stated then added, " See you inside, do not stay out too long because it is cold." Then just like that he walked away towards the emergency department enterance.
