Girl falls into his arms.

" Any questions?" Mr (Calix) Evans asked, then continued " Okay, if there are no questions and we are done with the introductions, we can move on to today's agenda." He said in an emotionless monotone, I can tell that he is not that enthusiastic about teaching. 

" Eye candy." the girl in front of me admired a little too loud because everyone turned and looked in our direction. She ducked her head when she met eyes with Mr Evans leaving me exposed to his stare.

We locked eyes and I saw for a brief moment a playful smirk as he said " I am glad you like it." directing the reply to me, Bella froze when she saw the interaction, her mind must have went wild while the girl in front of me squirmed in her seat, sigh. I on the other hand could not hide my shocked face but most people snickered becasuse they thought that I was shocked because he acknowledged me but that wasn't it! 

" It wasn't me who made the remark, sir." I politely said to him.

He looked up from the paper he was reading. " Oh, so you do not agree with your fellow student, dear student?" He asked with a smirk that screamed "I know that I am handsome.".

" I never said that sir, I..." Before I could finish my sentence he interrupted me, " Oh,so you agree?" He said with a full blown grin now

" Sir, are you not regressing a little?" I said with a calm face and yes I also could do a poker face, it was particularly useful for such situations. He did not reply but he stared for a long while as if contemplating if he should reply or not but in the end he did not, thankfully. Just as the topic was ice cold, my fellow students decided to voice their opinions ( I think they forgot that we were sitting in a lecture hall of a military institute.). 

" You are very handsome, sir." Said one female voice, I must say she is a brave girl. 

" Yes, I am going to brag to my friends about having a handsome lecturer for my first meeting in paeds." Added another student this time male.

" It is such a shame that you are only here for today." Said one girl with a sigh and many others supposedly agreed with her through sighing as well. It seems like the incident earlier was the icebreaker in the class but why was I dragged in it? 

Calix Evans gave a smile and said " Thank you, dear students." Then continued, " though it seems that not all of you agree with the statement." He said the last part eyeing me yet again. His statement was well received because the lecture hall was filled with laughter for a brief moment so I was happy that the tense atmosphere from before ( military elites vs foreign exchange students) dissipated a little.

" I think you are going to be public enemy number one after this." Bella whispered to me because Mr Evans was continuing with his talk, academic related stuff this time. 

Sigh, " What do you mean?" I asked in a whisper 

" The YSH are going to be on your case." she said 

" The what?" I asked as I completely gave her my attention.

" The YSH, it stands for youngest surgeon hottie group. The group was formed after Mr Evans was a hot search topic for becoming the youndest surgeon. Anyway, they definitely will not like your little interaction with Mr Evans, aka. their hottie surgeon. " She said all in one breath because we were not supposed to be engaged in a conversation while Mr Evans was also busy with an introductory talk in paeds. 

" well sounds to me as though you are a part of that group." I said to Bianca

" I am and I am one of the chairwomen of the group." She said while grinning and very proud. 

" And why would you be unhappy because of me?" I asked her

" Well, i won't be mad because I mean according to my research you are brilliant and all. The others on the other hand will be." Bella replied while playing with her hair. 

Sigh, I was about to reply when I saw Mr Evans giving us a look and decided to keep my mouth shut since I did not want to be dragged into another incidence and have the 'YSH' hate me even more. Bella must have seen it too because she immediately ducked into her ipad and suddenly looked like a dedicated medical student.

" Okay, that is all for now. Your next activity is attending the hospital rounds. The meeting point is outside the paeds wards and you will move to the emergency department to review paeds patients admitted there recently. You have been divided into groups and you will follow specific seniors but for your rounds you will form one big group. That is all, thank you students." Mr Evans said after giving us an introductory talk. He is kinda nice for telling us the last bit of information because I was probably going to be lost...again. Maybe I should thank him, maybe. 

And that is what I did, standing up I quickly exchanged numbers with Bella , said goodbye to her and then made my way to Mr Evans who was flocked by a group of students. If I were to take a guess, they might be from the YSH. 

I stopped in my tracks because I was going to him only to thank him and that can wait until another day I suppose, I wanted to make up for our two bad encounters which left me with a bad impression of him. While contemplating on if I should join the students and wait for my turn I heard someone calling my name.

" Hey, Alyssa!" someone with a familiar voice shouted. 

I turned and saw Adian and Jason coming my way. 

" Hey, over here! Don't you remember me? Ah! My feelings are hurt! How could you forget this handsome face?" He said all at once and at this point I did not even want to bother replying to his outrageous claims. 

" What? you are not going to honor me with a respond now? Are you already tired of me before we are even friends?" He continued as though he heard my thoughts 

" Anyone would get tired of you before they even talk to you." Someone replied and that someone was Jason who bumped into me earlier, what a small world. 

" That is very offensive! Do not talk if you have nothing nice to say about me." Adian said 

Sigh, " Hi Adian. Hi Jason" I said to him and Jason who simply gave a nod in response unlike his friend who suddenly jumped out of excitement and said " Ah, She knows my name, she remembers it." He exclaimed dramatically and I wondered why the world had so many Hannahs.

Aidan then said pointing to Jason, "Though you can forget his name. He is not important." In response to this Jason simply rolled his eyes and I do not blame him. 

" Any who, where are you going now?" Adian continued 

I glanced at the area Mr Evans was and it was empty then replied.

" Uh, no where in particular, why?" I said cautiously because I was afraid of a follow up reply of being invited somewhere. And I was! 

" Then you must join us for lunch with my mentor and his friend!" He said then as though he suddenly remembered then added, " Please."

I was not convinced because I only met these two the other day and we have not spoken since, why would I want to have lunch with two semi-strangers and two complete strangers ( mentor and friend) ? 

Jason saw that I was going to decline and said " It will be a form of apology for what happened the other day." 

" Yes, it will be like an apology please." Adian said supporting his friend's statement then added " Jason is very sorry about what happened the other day and if you do not accept then..." He said but did not complete his sentence 

" Then what?" I asked, I was running out of patience. 

" Then it means you did not forgive him, at least that is how we will see it." Adian said giving me a sad puppy look.

I exhaled slowly, closed my eyes and said, " Fine, but we must be back in time because we have rounds later on and I would like to prepare." honestly, I gave up. 

Then we left the paeds section and I simply followed Adian and Jason, I hoped the place was not too far and luckily it wasn't. 

" Hi mentor!" Adian shouted excitedly when we got to the restaurant just outside the institute to a man who was sitting quietly by himself. He looks oddly familiar. The two guys I followed entered the private area and Jason gave a respectful greeting unlike his friend and I froze at the door to the private area because the man was very familiar. I have a bad feeling about this.

And to my bad luck, the mentor was someone I met before ( the professor who did CPR on Anna). His name was professor Smit and I was praying that the person they referred to as his friend was not...

" Are you following me?" A voice from behind me startled me and I accidentally fell backwards and his arms caught up with my sudden loss of balance and helped me steady myself. 

" I know that you are mesmerized but you did not have to literally fall for me." Mr Evans said from behind me and I guess my guess was correct, he's the friend!

" Thank you." I mumbled completely ignoring his other remarks because I was hiding the faint blush on my cheeks (which I think he saw) and because they were worth ignoring. 

He then continued, " Though you did not have to follow me because you were going to see me during the rounds anyway." He said with a wink. 

" We invited her." Adian said to Mr Evans and to this he said " well then, have a seat." And he ushered me to a chair and he took the chair next to me. I did not want to look up because I did not want to see through the expressions of the people present about what they were thinking about this. Face down looking at the table all I thought about was how this was going to be a very very long day.
