Moving Forwards

Ophelia left Olaf and Raheem alone. Raheem just hugged Olaf and shed silent tears and relaxed. He never thought he would be able to talk to someone from his world ever again. Olaf just stood and let Raheem vent.

Olaf let him go and they both sat down. They sat down on the floor side by side. Olaf was always a man who said very few words, so he didn't know where to start. Raheem stared ahead thinking about surreal it was for him to be talking to his grandfather. Ophelia showed up and made a table with chairs appear.

Olaf and Raheem sat down across from her. She poured tea for the both of them. Olaf looked at the teacup in front of him, still trying to think of a way to open up the conversation. Ophelia looked at Raheem and gestured for him to speak first. She knew what kind of man Olaf was and how awkward he was when it came down to communicating.

"Grandfather, tell me some stories if you don't mind?" Olaf smiled in relief, he started talking and going on about his life in the military. Hours went by and their tea had gotten cold. "Excuse me gentlemen, but it's time for Raheem to leave." They both were startled by how fast the time flew. Olaf stood up and said. "Of course! I can't keep the strongest All-Beast all to myself, even if he is my grandson." He had a huge smile on his face as he said that. Raheem chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. "Ophelia is it not possible for me to stay a little longer?" He didn't want to leave the only family he could talk to so soon. "I am sorry but it's not possible." She smiled sadly. Raheem nodded his head in understanding. "Come now boy! You can't mope around like that, besides I'm dead I'm not going anywhere." This brought a smile to Raheem's face, he laughed and responded to him. "Eh, you are right, you old fossil."

Olaf smacked him across his head in a playful manner. "That's the spirit, live until you, yourself becomes older than a fossil." He bowed towards Ophelia and left the palace. He went to the gardens and bragged about how important and powerful his grandson was. "Thank you for this Ophelia, I didn't know I needed this, I thought I had to hold everything on my back by myself." Ophelia gave him a hug. "If I may be so brazen, you as an All have a lot more responsibility than someone of my status and position. That being said, I wouldn't blame you for being overwhelmed at times."

Raheem hugged her back and stepped away. He smiled and then shouted out loud. "Hey I'm ready to leave!" He was whisked away a second later, in his place was a letter. Ophelia bent down to pick it up, after reading it she immediately burned it out of existence. She stomped her way to her room to meditate and to calm herself.

Raheem appeared in front of the All-Father. The All-Father looked at him again, only this time the monstrous figure that was behind him before had now became docile and not wanting to consume him. "Great, looks like everything turned out for the best." Raheem snorted. "As if you didn't forsee that happening." He sat down next to the All-Father as he clipped away the dead leaves.

"Why do you always ruin the illusion of not knowing huh?" "Because, it's redundant, you are the All-Father. You literally know everything and if for some reason you don't, you can easily find out." The All-Father had nothing to say when it was put that way.

"What are your plans now?" "I plan on graduating early and leaving for a mission." "Oh, you're tired of pretending huh?" "No, I realized I'm just stalling and I might as well move forwards than just standing still."

The All-Father patted him on his head. "Good for you, just make sure you pace yourself as you move forwards. What kind of mission were you thinking of taking?" Raheem caught chills as he thought about it. He gulped. "Why do you have a suitable mission in mind?"

The All-Father grinned and grabbed Raheem by his shoulders and shifted plains. Raheem threw up from the sudden shift. 'Is it even possible to vomit while someone is a spirit?'

"The mission is pretty simple really, I need you to watch over a slime." "A slime? What is it it? Does it have a physical body? What does it eat? What type of habitat does it prosper in? Is it beneficial to the ecosystem?" Raheem fired off question after question. He had never heard of a sline before, to him it sound like a specimen that didn't have any limbs, but that begs the question, 'How do they re-populate?'"

The All-Father wasn't overwhelmed by his questioning but welcomed it with open arms. He answered each one with patience and a smile. He would much rather see Raheem like this than instead of the way he was before. "Ok that's enough, do you accept the mission or not?" "Of course! I can't wait to study an entirely new ecosystem. How long would this mission be?" "Well this particular slime will appear in another two years so you will have to wait a while, is that ok?"

The All-Father knew Raheem would not mind the wait since he would still be studying new animals and their habits. "That's fine I don't mind the wait, plus I could really use this time to think. Just give me the basic knowledge of the world and I can take it from there." "Haha I do love your confidence, but remember I only need you to watch over him. He can handle his own troubles just fine, but I leave the decision up to you whether or not to interfere."

"What's so important about this particular slime anyways?" "Some rambunctious kids are wanting to cause trouble for an old friend of mines, and I just wanna make sure they don't overstep their grounds." "Rambunctious kids? Does that mean they are All's like me or somehow related?"

"No no, haha." The All-Father laughed. "Raheem under my order and decree All's are never allowed to fight one another, nor are they allowed to interfere in each other's work" He was deadly serious as he said those words. Raheem shook off the cold feeling he felt. "In that case what type of kids?"

"Just some low tier gods who like to play with worlds. They only play with them because they arent capable of conquering their owm worlds. You just need to make sure they don't go too far."

"If they do?" The All-Father turned and faced Raheem. "Is it not obvious? You kill them. God's who can't do their job are not needed." He passed him three tokens. "Take these with you. They represent the All-Exterminator, All-Executioner, and All-Judgement. You break them and either they will appear or one of their apostles."

Raheem the tokens in his pocket. He still didn't understand how that work in his current state. "I understand, if the need arises I won't hesitate." "Good, when you wake up almost a week has passed, accept the mission when you are ready. I am also going to connect you with the spirit of the world so it wont penalize you." He snapped his fingers and Raheem woke up in his bed.
