TTW Chapter 75: Anteiku Raid (4)

Yoshimura, covered in bloody wounds, trembled and his recovery speed slowed down.

"Look, everyone! The Ghoul leader is going to be executed. Investigator Lin and others are showing their power..." The reporter, holding a microphone, excitedly narrated while the cameraman leaned out of the helicopter.

The viewership ratings were rapidly increasing.

The journalist remembered the promise from his boss and felt energized. He urged the pilot to get closer, hoping to capture a close-up shot of the powerful SSS-level Ghoul's face, making it even more sensational.

The helicopter's engine roared loudly, creating a noisy sound.

The battle between Lin Yi and Yoshimura was almost over. Yoshimura was running out of energy and moving slowly, making him an easy target for attacks from all directions.

How much longer could he endure with just his recovery ability?

Lin Yi leaped to dodge the feathered Kagune's attacks. While in mid-air, he performed an elegant whip kick, hitting Yoshimura's head.

Yoshimura's mask shattered, revealing his blood-covered face. He looked old and gentle, a stark contrast to his Ghoul appearance. There was a sense of sorrow and loneliness in his pitiful state.

Coughing up blood, Yoshimura held his chest. A fatal wound caused blood to flow profusely, staining the ground beneath him.

"I really wanted to witness that scene with my own eyes," Yoshimura murmured softly, his voice fading. "This is what you wanted, right?"

Lin Yi stood with his sword, not responding.

Yoshimura smiled faintly and looked up at the helicopter above.

"Let me help you one last time, by removing the nuisance."

With his last ounce of strength, Yoshimura unleashed a barrage of feathers. The attack was powerful, capable of easily piercing through the ground.

"Go up quickly, go up quickly!" The three people in the helicopter were terrified. The journalist screamed, and the cameraman dropped his meal.

However, the helicopter ascended slowly compared to the lightning-fast feathers. The feathers pierced through the steel fuselage, damaging the wings and causing smoke and flames to erupt. In a loud explosion, the helicopter plummeted downwards.

No one doubted that Yoshimura was responsible. The last moments captured on camera showed his final act of resistance. The helicopter got caught in the middle of the fight.

When Yoshimura launched his attack, Lin Yi's Jörmungandr turned into a giant python, wrapping around Lin Yi and blocking all the feathers.

"Thud!"

With the last strike, the power of the 'Owl' was shown to the world, proving Lin Yi's strength.

But after Yoshimura's desperate attack, he fell to the ground and his neatly styled hair became messy. The feathers on his body scattered like ash in the wind.

"I believe you can do it. In a world like that, everyone would be happy, without life's burdens, and free to pursue their happiness."

Yoshimura looked up at the sky but couldn't see any stars. He whispered softly, his eyes losing focus.

Finally, he seemed to remember something, and a smile appeared on his face.

"It will happen. I promise all obedient Ghouls will enjoy peace." Lin Yi spoke for the first time, but Yoshimura was already dead.

He raised Jörmungandr slightly, ready to consume him.

Just as his weapon transformed, a sudden flash of cold light passed by at incredible speed. Lin Yi barely reacted in time and narrowly avoided it.

In the next moment, with a loud thud, Lin Yi noticed a projectile embedded in the wall.

Then, two Ghouls rushed up to the rooftop and charged at Lin Yi.

Lin Yi frowned, fought back, and effortlessly ended the lives of the two Ghouls. Their heads flew in the air, and Jörmungandr swiftly pierced through them, absorbing them into motionless bodies.

"Help, help, someone save me!"

The pleas for help were urgent and desperate.

Following the path the Ghouls took, a young man with black hair crawled and rolled up the stairs. He stumbled and fell, making a mess of himself.

His once handsome face was swollen, but in order to survive, he unleashed hidden strength, quickly stood up, and rushed towards Lin Yi.

As he got closer, Lin Yi finally saw the young man's face.

He had a handsome appearance with charming features and wore a second-class investigator uniform.

The young man saw Lin Yi as his savior.

"Investigator Lin, the rest of the team was attacked by the Aogiri Tree. The main control room has been invaded, and there are many... I mean, a lot of Ghouls.."

The young man pointed anxiously at the stairwell.

Lin Yi looked and indeed saw several pairs of glowing crimson Ghoul eyes in the corridor, like terrifying red lanterns in the dark.

However, these Ghouls seemed to have lost their sanity. Driven by their desire for blood and flesh, they rushed towards Lin Yi in a chaotic manner.

Lin Yi remained calm, standing in place. Jörmungandr transformed into a longsword in his hand, and he swung it effortlessly. His movements were clear and visible, yet each strike effortlessly claimed a life.

The young man cowered behind Lin Yi, frightened, watching the scene unfold. Gradually, his expression changed, and from behind, he cheered on Lin Yi.

But suddenly, a flash of cold light appeared in his hand, and his expression turned ferocious.
