TTW Chapter 73: Anteiku Raid (2)

A group of powerful fighters approached the Anteiku coffee shop and immediately launched an attack. Two individuals moved swiftly and showed incredible speed. Despite being bombarded with bullets, they quickly defeated the enemy fighters.

The captain in charge tried to boost morale by reassuring his team. "Stay calm and regroup. There are only two opponents."

But before he could finish speaking, everything went dark. A graceful person wearing a black dog mask appeared and a head was thrown into the air, causing blood to spray everywhere.

Irimi, one of the attackers, mocked their slow reaction. She and Koma leaped back and landed on nearby rooftops. Irimi snapped her fingers lightly.

Suddenly, hundreds of figures emerged from the darkness. They all wore masks of black dogs and red monkeys, and their eyes glowed crimson.

These figures belonged to two organizations, the Ape and the Dog, which had caused a lot of trouble for the CCG in the past.

However, after Irimi and Koma joined Anteiku, both organizations were disbanded. But their former members remained loyal to them and had received orders to reunite in a few days.

"Give your lives to me," Irimi smiled, and the ghouls behind her echoed her words, leaping down to join the battle.

The battlefield erupted with chaos as the fight began.

With Irimi and Koma, two extremely powerful ghouls, leading the charge, the vanguard unit had no chance. They were quickly overwhelmed and forced to retreat.

The CCG quickly sent reinforcements. Investigator Mougan Tanakamaru, a highly skilled investigator, was sent to snipe Koma.

On the other side, Investigator Chuu Hachikawa, whose face had been damaged by the Dog, volunteered to confront the attackers. His request was granted by Marude, the authority in charge.

Everyone knew that the true leader had yet to make an appearance.

Suddenly, a loud explosion shook the area, enveloped in swirling smoke and dust. Many investigators nearby were knocked down, leaving everyone stunned and silent.

Marude and Yoshitoki Washuu rushed out of their command vehicle, anxiously looking at the smoke ahead.

As the smoke cleared, they saw only an old man standing there. He wore a trench coat and no mask. He turned slowly, revealing his true face. Yoshimura had never considered an escape plan for himself.

"The act of taking is equally evil. We, from the moment of birth, continue to take. Food, connections, even fellow blood. Living to the utmost. Continuing to slaughter, kill, take. Life is to constantly sin. Life is evil itself. I am aware I am evil…" Yoshimura spoke in a low, oppressive voice, devoid of his usual gentleness. As he spoke, his entire body began to change.

From far away, it was hard to tell how many kakuhou were on his body, but they were all changing. His kagune extended like armor, gradually covering his entire body, even his cheeks.

"And so are you all. Now, come kill me and I shall do the same," Yoshimura said in his kakuja form, towering at nearly three meters tall. Only one kakugan could be seen, and sharp kagune blades extended from his hands.

"He's a good-looking old man," Lin Yi commented, not taking the situation seriously and joking around before the battle began.

Beside him, Iwao Kuroiwa, Shinohara, Kiyoko Aura, and several other high-ranking investigators had serious expressions, unable to laugh.

With no one appreciating his humor, Lin Yi stopped joking and started counting the time instead.

"Let's attack together. This is not the time for honor in combat," suggested Iwao Kuroiwa, wielding his Quinque and wearing the Arata armor.

"Be careful, a single mistake can cost your life against these monsters," Shinohara warned, activating the Arata armor in advance. His body was instantly covered in black kagune, forming protective armor.

But before he could charge forward, countless feather-like kagune suddenly attacked him.

Shinohara raised his Quinque to block, and everyone looked up to the rooftops on both sides. They hadn't noticed before, but there were already hundreds of ghouls standing there.

They all wore brown trench coats and identical masks, the signature look of the Aogiri Tree.

In addition to them, several prominent ghouls were present, including Noro and Ayato Kirishima, who had just launched the attack.

Lin Yi squinted his eyes. So Eto had sent all her followers here.

She's truly decisive.

"The Aogiri Tree's main force is here. Stay alert, this is a decisive battle!" Marude shouted, boosting morale.

Unbeknownst to the CCG, they had mistaken their target. While they were preparing to attack Anteiku, they believed this place was the stronghold of the Aogiri Tree, so it wasn't surprising.

In the original story, it was only after the Manager died and Eto transformed into the 'Owl' that the CCG realized there were two 'Owls' in total.

And they gave the Manager the nickname 'Non-Killing Owl.'

But this beautiful misunderstanding wouldn't be resolved.

"Engage the enemy from all sides!"

With Marude's command, countless specially-made kakuhou bullets were unleashed, while the Aogiri Tree members descended in waves, charging towards the frontlines.

Many ghouls fell before reaching their targets, shot and trampled by their own comrades as they pushed forward.

But without the guidance of high-ranking investigators, relying only on lower-ranked investigators, as well as a large number of third-class investigators armed with special bullets, the difference in combat strength became evident in an instant.
