6 Chūnin Exams
Over the next few months, Team 8 completes D-rank missions and undergoes different types of training. During this period, Takahashi reaches level 39 with the help of 8 secret missions for creating Nitric Release ninjutsu. Team 8 also found out that they will be taking the Chūnin Exams. The night before the start of the Chūnin Exams, Takahashi decides to improve his status.

After looking at his new status, Takahashi walks to the location of the exam. After gathering with his team, he spots the other teams participating in the exam. Besides Teams 7 and 10, there was a team with a member of the Hyūga clan. This team consisted of a boy with shiny black hair that's in a bowl-cut style, round eyes, and thick eyebrows. He is wearing a green jumpsuit with orange leg warmers and bandages on around his forearms and fingers. His red forehead protector is being used as a belt. The only girl on the team has black hair in two Chinese-style buns and short bangs. She is wearing a pink qipao blouse with red sleeve trimmings and dark green pants. She has a pouch adjusted to her thigh, a blue forehead protector, and blue sandals.
Takahashi glances at the other teams but has little interest so he brings his attention back to the first team. Just as he looks over, he realizes that Naruto and Sasuke are worn out while Sakura looks as though she had seen a ghost. Meanwhile, the boy with the thick eyebrows is looking at Sasuke with pride on his face. Once Takahashi concludes what transpired between the four, he chuckles and enters the exam room.
After everyone is seated, the proctor comes into the room and informs everyone of the details of the exam. Takahashi looks around the room and discovers that many of the exam takers are cheating. Shino is using insects to spy on a nearby participant, Sasuke is using the Sharingan to copy a participant's movements, and Ino switch minds with other participants. Some of the only people that aren't cheating are Sakura and Naruto. Sakura is answering the questions with ease and Naruto just seems confused. Takahashi closes his eyes and slowly exhale.
"Eye of Heaven, " Takahashi whispers.
In the sky above the Chūnin Exam's location, a transparent eye appears. Seconds later, the eye vanishes as Takahashi opens his eyes. He then writes all of Sakura's answers. The participants caught cheating are kicked out by the proctor and the proctor gives the final question. Unlike the other questions, this question could fail your entire team if not answered and keep you as a genin forever if answered wrong. After Naruto displays his determination to never give up, everyone remaining in the room passes the first phase of the Chūnin Exams.
For the second phase of the Chūnin Exams, everyone must go to training ground 44. This phase is proctored by an Anko Mitarashi. She is fairly tall with a slender frame. She has black hair that's in a short, spiky, fanned-ponytail, and light brown eyes with a blue tint. Her outfit consists of a tan overcoat with purple in-seams, a dark orange miniskirt, a dark blue belt, and pale grey shin guards. Under this is a fitted mesh bodysuit.
After Anko guided everyone to training ground 44, she told them the rules of the second phase. She also warned them of the dangers of "The Forest of Death". After Naruto comments about Anko exaggerating, she throws a kunai at him and licks the blood that gets on it.
