Chapter 120

Ekko sighed, whatever the case maybe he would figure it out sooner or later, the most important thing is that he needed to get the heck out of there before she fully woke up.

As he was standing up to leave, he paused and then sighed before taking off one of his favorite jumpers and putting it on Meiko before leaving.

It was a good thing too because two minutes later he could hear the sounds of brick walls and concrete shattering from a distance.

Wiping the none existent sweat off his brow, Ekko was finally making his way back to the resting area where all of his teammates were.

After the short break was over it was finally time to resume the bossaball tournament and the semi-finals at that.

The team that would be playing in the semi-finals were team Hinamatsuri vs team new kids on the Block and team Gold Diggers against Team kiss My ace.

And once all the teams were officially ready the semi-finals commenced. And as the matches kicked the crowd couldn't help but cheer as loud for their favorite teams.

But by far these two semi-final matches have been the most exciting matches to witness throughout this entire tournament.

But it wasn't because of team Hinamatsuri, but instead, team Kiss My ace led by Meiko and team Gold Diggers that were led by Saeko Busujima.

It was more accurate to say that this game was more of a two-woman show than a team game as the more pumped-than-usual Vice president was playing against the ever-competitive Saeko.

But unaware to anyone there excluding Ekko and Meiko herself, the only reason she was playing so hard was to finish this match as soon as possible so she could personally crush Ekko with her own hands and send him on his way.

She was far from calm and the humiliation that Ekko had made her endure was still fresh in her mind, and though she would never admit it until the day she died her body could not forget his humiliating touch either.

And Ekko who was on his own court assisting his teammates could only bitterly smile as he felt Meiko's hidden/unbiddened fury.

Though in the end Ekko dident regret his actions and would have done so again, especially when it came to the reward the system was giving to complete said task.

{ Cloak of invisibility: The Cloak of Invisibility was a magical artifact used to render the wearer invisible, and one of the fabled Deathly Hallows.

In The Tale of the Three Brothers, it was the third and final Hallow created, supposedly by Death himself whom had the cloak in his possession at that time.

The Cloak of Invisibility is especially powerful. If the story was to be believed, it concealed its wearer so absolutely that even death itself could not find them.

It is also resistant to jinxes, hexes, and other spells which would normally damage or otherwise render a normal Invisibility Cloak ineffective, keeping it in pristine condition for centuries.}

Ekko immediately recognized the reward the very first time he saw it, of course, he did, it was an item that came from one of his favorite stories...Harry potter.

But not only that he had actually come across said Cloak in the system store one time and remembered that its price was no lower than 90,000 Ip which seems a bit much at first but some often forgot that it is literally Deaths Cloak.

Ekko had no idea when he would have use for it but he had a feeling that it would come in handy in the future.

{Yakusa high: Bossaball Court}

After the exhilarating and exciting semifinals, two winners had finally came out victorious. And those teams were Team Hinamatsuri and shockingly team Kiss My Ace.

A lot of students thought that team Gold Diggers wouldn't have had a difficult time beating team Kiss My Ace, but it seemed they just managed to grab the victory over them with a two-point difference.

So it was finally time, the moment all of the students, staff, and even players had been anticipating.

The finals, a match that would go down in Yakusa history.

Both teams were given a 15-minute break before they were called to the final stage which was a bossaball court twice the size of the other courts they played on.

Ekko who was in a huddle with his team could feel Meiko's fiery glare from across the court but completely ignored it and instead paid attention to Nana who was trying to give the best inspirational speech she could.

" Alright guys we made it, we've come this far after so long and I don't think anyone here wants to leave a loser, so it's now or never.

If you had one shot, one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted In one moment. Would you capture it...Or just let it slip?"

' Why do those words sound oddly familiar...must just be my imagination.

" I'm sure as hell not gonna and Mama wants that trip to the hot springs resort in Oita, so let's go out there and kick their sorry behinds."

"YEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!" The team cheered concurrently as they felt motivated to try their best.

Though in his mind Ekko thought.' If she wants to visit the hot springs so badly she could just visit mine.'

In the crowd, Kaori was sitting in the front row of the crowd as she twiddled her thumbs in nervousness. She was worried for Ekko and really hoped he won the whole tournament.

But looking at the confident look he had she somehow felt that he would win for sure. She took a deep breath in before screaming." YOU CAN DO IT EKKO!!"

Kaori's group of friends beside her were all shocked by her outburst but Ekko who was getting ready heard her loud and clear and burst out laughing while giving her a thumbs up.

Seeing that he had heard her, Kaori blushed but smiled nevertheless. Meanwhile none the wiser that her friends had this 'oh my god it's tea' face and immediately started typing in their group chats while asking Kaori what her and Ekko's relationship was.

On the other side of the stands, Saeko who had just lost the semifinals was also watching the game with full attentiveness.

Koizumi who was eating her bowl of ramen in the school cafeteria had actually stopped mid-meal to look up at the TV screen.

Her eyes darted around before landing right on Ekko, unknown thoughts were circulating in her mind.

{ Location: Takagi residence}

Saya Takagi another student from Ekko's Class and an acquaintance was also staring at her phone with an unnatural amount of focus.

Her face held a complicated look of frustration and uncertainty. She hadn't bothered herself with going to the lockdown event, but as she was on a study break she decided to just take a quick peek at the school forums.

That's when she saw the clip of Ekko playing, and even without herself noticing she had already exceeded her own break time to watch Ekko play.

Meanwhile, Minori in the teacher's tent was crossing her fingers in hope while Aki was still treating students for their nosebleeds which didn't seem to be stopping any time soon.

She wondered why that was.

But let's hope this last game... this last battle will be one we can never forget when we leave the school grounds tommoro morning.

So if the players are ready and the refs are set I officially announce that the finals for Yakusas first ever bossaball championship can begin...NOW.}

Both teams stared at each other, both equally aware of what was at stake.

Meikos eyes had never left Ekko's who didn't back down in the slightest and even gave her a little teasing wink back.

' I'll kill you a thousand times over cockroach.' Meiko said this through her eyes.

" Bring it on King Kong." Ekko said, and loud enough that she could hear his words.

Sorry for the late upload guys, this chapter was meant to be posted two days ago but the 2700 word chapter that I had written out had completely disappeared.

I had accidentally written it in chapter 119 that I had already uploaded so when I left the chapter everything I had written dissapred.

I'll be honest I was really bumbed and had no motivation to write, so I'm sorry if this chapter isn't really that great.

Final chapter of the tournament should be posted tommoro same time as always, if not then it will definitely be up Sunday.
