Coincidence, I think not

Mr Nigel on the other hand, marveled in awe, finally he could find a way to get back to his home world, the runic characters a bit more complex than he remembered, but yet he could still read the majority of the text.

~Only one of true descent could wield the power of the weltic magic runestone and bring... to the pack, beware for the danger lies not in others but in ....~

Nigel cursed at that bit of information he couldn't interpret in his mind, he needed to know what needed to be brought to the pack, also what was the danger that was spoken of?

It was merely minutes away before the weltic magic runestone would appear, he needed the best possible way to get to it once it arrived.

"Do you trust me?" Raph whispered to Chantel, stretching out his hand and awaiting her response.

Tilting her head in confusion, even though she didn't admit it loudly, he was the safest and most reliable person to her at the moment, he had also saved her from her imminent death at that time–that she was still eternally grateful for.

Slowly nodding her head, she took a hold of his hand. As soon as she did, she was pulled, she had to force her stiff legs to run as they made it towards another boulder ahead, but something felt off. The bone arrows weren't launched.

The others behind watched in awe at what they saw, probably thinking the danger had passed, two of the archeologists decided to try their luck by advancing to another boulder ahead, just like they had seen them do.

What a grave mistake that was, as if waiting for them to walk right into the trap, the bone arrows impaled their legs.

A groan could be felt, they looked on horror as they were defenseless, they decided to try crawling, if they could crawl to safety, they would gladly take that as an option, but it was too late, another arrow came crashing onto the first one, this time it pierced him through the back, this had directly driven into his heart from behind, killing him instantly.

The other female stifled her screams, she had to look for a way to crawl out of there, she looked over to Raph for help, stretching out her hand in their direction, "please save me. I have two little children that needs my –"

An arrow drove through her skull, stopping any further discussion she had wanted to say to garner pity.

Raph covered Chantel's eyes to shield her from witnessing that gruesome death, from that simple action, he could feel her body trembling again. "It would be fine." He brought her closer to himself, pressing her face to his chest, caressing her back.

Now the number just dwindled, they were now eight with the devil incarnate of a leader doing nothing about the situation.

"What the hell is going on, Sir?!" He yelled, clearly agitated he heard no word from him.

The silence was deafening, he could vaguely count just three people he could clearly see to his left, each and every one of them hiding behind their respective boulders.

He had to make a move soon, if it meant meeting their leader that way, he was going to do so.

Pulling on Chantel's hand once more, they made their way to two boulders away from their leader's supposed location.

Hyperventilating, they had managed to escape death thrice, he was starting to understand the concept of the whole situation.

An arrow would be shot when it senses a lone threat who it deems to eliminate, finally all his tutoring about ancient caves was starting to pay off tremendously.

In one of his research, he had stumbled on a journal which had talked about an ancient magic rune said to hold untold power, but it was heavily guarded and lost, but the rest of the journal had been mysteriously ripped off that could reveal the location.

He had the feeling that the long lost cave, the cave they so desperately have to survive, is none other than the same one.

Coincidence? He begged to differ, there was something strange about Mr Nigel, he did possess the confidence of someone who had known the inner workings of the cave.
