The moment Ronald entered the auction house, he could see an endless amount of wealthy and noble people, and even though he has visited this auction house once before, he was still astonished by how gigantic the auction house was.

Even though there was a lot of people that had attended, there wasn't as much chaos going on inside, because the auction house was backed up by the Wanruo family.

The Li family, also considered one of the top 10 major family that originated from the capital city of China.

Although it wasn't really known to the public how the Li family managed to become this influential and powerful since they seemed like they just poofed into existance to begin with, Ronald knew.

The Li family was actually a cultivation family that just hid too deeply.

This entire auction house was also established by the eldest lady of the Li family, Li Wanruo.

Ronald headed upstairs where the VIP lounge was and sat down on his designated VIP booth.

This maid that was actually disguised as one, was none other than Iris.

'He's still... so cute and kind as always.' Iris couldn't help but start daydreaming about her and Ronald being together.

Even though on the outside Ronald acted like an idiot and looked like he knew absolutely nothing besides knowing how to spend his father's money, she actually knew that he was actually extremely smart and knows everything on the back of his hand.

She, just like everyone else, was at one point was ignorant about Ronald as well and had almost the worst possible impression of him at the time.

But her worldview of him suddenly changed the moment she saw how incredible Ronald actually was.

During her previous life, while she was on a mission investigating about the truth behind the destruction of Ye Fan's family, she went too far into the abyss and got caught.

Powerful entities that she never even knew existed then started chasing her constantly to the point where she was extremely tired of it and wondered if it was even worth it to even stay alive at this point.

Even though she was a killer and went through intensive trainings and hardships ever since she was a child, those were nothing compared to what she felt while she was being hunted down and slowly being chipped away both physically and mentally by people she couldn't even considered human beings anymore.

Just as she was at the lowest point of her life while laying almost unconsciously on the ground in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by multiple enemies she knew she couldn't even beat in a one on one fight even during her peak, she heard a certain voice that was oddly familiar.

"Were you suppose to die here?" Although the voice sounded uncertain, it was the last thing Iris heard before she fell unconscious.

When she woke up again and she saw that she was back at the Kuangge family resident where she orginally recieved the task from Ye Fan to monitor Ronald and to further investigate the entirety of the Kuangge family, she couldn't help but look at Ronald who looked like he was briefly confused when he was staring at her before quickly going back to his arrogant attitude.

She was absolutely certain that the voice she heard before she fell unconscious was Ronald's voice, but every time she brought up the topic, Ronald just kept giving her a dumbfound look like he didn't know what she was talking about.

So from then on she started to investigate Ronald's personal life as she believed that he wasn't as simple as he had seemed on the surface.

She wanted to see the truth for herself and get to the bottom of it.

The further she kept investigating Ronald's personal life, the more mysterious Ronald had seem to become.

On the surface it looked like he was a complete waste that had no talent, but behind the scenes there were times when he would do something completely out of the ordinary that would have completely shocked everyone if they had known it.

Before she even knew it, she had completely fallen in love with Ronald and even had some obsessive tendencies towards him, but before she had realized it, it was too late.

Yes, even though that man, no, that god looked so perfect in her eyes, he too had a weakness.

That weakness was Luna.

When she first heard about Ronald's death, she felt like the entire world had collapsed infront of her own eyes and all she could think about doing was murdering that bitch that forced him to commit suicide.

Then later on after confronting Luna, she then realized the truth behind his death.

Even though Luna was the one who stimulated his death, she wasn't the actual cause of his death.

The one that actually caused him to kill himself was Ye Fan.

She blamed herself for being too dense for not realizing, she should've known that Ye Fan was the cause to his downfall, after all she used to be his right hand woman.

So during the second half of her life, her only motivation for staying alive was to kill Ye Fan.

Under the management of her and a bunch of other girls that seemed like they also had a story with Ronald, they managed to kill Ye Fan after years of constant chasing around.

However, even though Ye Fan was finally dead, everyone was still empty inside, after all what the most important thing was that person they had all taken revenge for was still dead.

Once Ye Fan was dead, everyone went their seperate ways, some decided to live out the rest of their lives unmarried, some just disappeared out of existance, some decided to defy the skies and try to find a way to resurrect Ronald, and some chose to commit suicide infront of Ronald's grave.

Iris had chosen to commit suicide infront of Ronald's grave.

Even though she knew she wouldn't be able to see Ronald ever again, she wanted to at least be with him in the after life.

Before she died however...

[Did you regret it?]

'Regretted what?' She heard her own voice talking inside her own head.

[Did you regret getting him killed?]

'What do you think? Of course I did.'

[If you had a second chance, what would you have done differently?]

'I would've done everything in my power to keep him alive no matter what, but that's too late now.'

[I see.]

'Hah, even before I die, it seems that I still have the courage to talk to myself like this.'

'Ronald.'

And just like that, the pupils in her eyes vanished away.
