Chapter 2: Training

The training started...

Kiritsugu told us about <Magic> and <Magecraft> and told us the harsh reality. That for Shirou and I, it would be almost impossible to be a good magus. He said physically training came first and he will teach us spells and how to train our magic circuits later.

We were told about our Origin, the root of our existence, which came from the root. We were also told about Elemental Affinity, and suggestions about which paths to take.

Shirou only had one path due to his Origin and Elemental Affinity both being "Sword" so he can't do any mage. Well, that's the same as the anime.

My Origin was... well, was what my personality basically was. My Origin was "Devour" and my Elemental Affinity was "Steal"... Even Kiritsugu was surprised and couldn't figure out how the two worked. I had to research it myself, so I did just that.

I understood it, I was the same as Shirou, with only one path right now.

I can't train my body or magic or to be exact I could only learn but had no way to apply my magic and skills. But I can <Devour> and <Steal> everything.

Of course, it has its own limitations, I couldn't devour or steal anything that I won't be able to use. For example, I could devour one of Kiritsugu's bullets, that had the Origin of severing and binding, and the result wasn't what I expected. I didn't get the Origin, but my body learned it and fused with it, gaining some characteristics of the Origin. We found out that my Origin and Elemental Affinity combined with each other, and made me able to adapt and steal everything in my body around whenever I touch it. But not something that overcame my limitations. For example, Kiritsugu told me to <Devour> an old magic artifact, and my body reacted and rejected it. I had to have more "space" in my body to devour it.

That space was my Magic Circuits, and if I had more circuits, then I could have devoured it, but I couldn't get magic circuits in a normal way. I could only devour other people's magic circuits.

I didn't see a problem because I didn't mind taking what I wanted even if I had to kill. But my dad Kiritsugu saw a problem that I wasn't aware of. If I stole other people's magic circuits I would have a lot of enemies while I was stile weak at the time. If I got surrounded by enemies on all sides, even I wouldn't be able to live.

So I have to be careful with choosing my prey. Thats was what I told him with an evil smile.

He looked at me and thought something was off... My killing intent must have leaked.

So we begun our training, sometimes we have guest and one of them named Fujimura Taiga babysits us a lot.

She was cute so I had no problem with her.

~Two weeks later~

I was training in the forest with Shirou before I detected a scent that I would have been easily able to identify in my previous life. That was blood...

I told my brother to go home but he questioned me why. I replied with a calm expression trying to mask my intentions;

Me: " You should just go have, it's getting late I be there after some more running." He said sure and he left.

When I kept getting closer to the source of the smell I saw dead bodies... There was 3 of them.

There was a women and a single kid that looks like he was 5. Another body laid a few feet from them with a hole in the middle of their body. I wonder why they were killed. There were scorch marks on the body of the women and kid.

From past experiences and deductions I could tell there was a fight here. I wasn't too sure but it seemed like they fought and killed each other.

I used <Devour> on the bodies... WOWOWOWOWOW...............

The man had very good quality magic circuits but the women's were only slightly weaker.

However, that wasn't why I was surprised... The kid had something really power that I couldn't tell because just when I was about to try to test what I was due to the massive power. I felt like I was having a major migraine and fainted...

When I woke up it was already midnight so I decided to head home. It was kind of weird but the power I got from the baby was gone. I was confused but decided not to mention about the events in the forest to Shirou and Kiritsugu and just say I fainted. Don't need to worry too much since I got some magic circuits. That was still a really good boon for a trip to the forest. When I got home I found out that Shirou and Kiritsugu were both awake and was very worried about me. I apologized saying "I fainted in the forest... I'm sorry if you guys worried about me."

They said it was fine as long as I was safe.

It so nice to have a caring family. We proceeded to go to sleep.

If someone was to look at the body of the boy, they would have been able to see the chains coming out and the power of the boy diminish... The point was though, no one else saw and the couple that would have been able to see if they got any closer however... Once they got within a 100 meter radius, they fainted.
