Chapter 14
“Oh, my God,” Rox mumbled, turned, threw the front door open, and ran out.
When he got outside, he began running. With no transportation, he ran out to the highway and lifted his thumb for a ride. It was about three o’clock in the morning before he got home, and when he slammed intohis trailer, he made it as far as his bed and fell on it without taking off his tuxedo. He couldn’t believe tears were coming out of his eyes, but when he thought of Dezi being a part of the Texas Mafia, it shook him to his soul.
Chapter 5
Rox had been lying there for what seemed like hours when he heard someone at the door. The knock was loudand insistent. He finally dragged himself up and looked through the panel at the top, and saw Dezi.
“Go away!” he cried out as fresh tears streamed down his face.
