Fan Xifeng looked at her grandma checking if she's alright and after confirming, she turned to the overly excited Su Meixi. This situation she's currently in with the Su madam is different, very different than her distant and distasteful expression on the night of her birthday/ engagement party from that dream. Fan Xifeng tried to stop herself from being lost in thoughts as she will have time to delve on it later. She needs to exist physically and mentally at the moment.

And that's a universal principle. Su Meixi unfortunately, from that dream, has hurt Fan Xifeng's emotion after realizing her expectation for a daughter in law shattered in pieces. However, this won't yet define her being a really bad person as, admit it or not, everyone will have their own prejudice if they're already talking about their own son's future wife, especially if the son is outstandingly handsome and excels in his field.

Embarrassed realizing her foolish behavior, Su Meixi settled down and finally sit beside her husband. However, her eyes never left Fan Xifeng, which made the latter uncomfortable. She has been used to how other people look at her because of her appearance she inherited from both parents but this time, Su Meixi's extreme attitude and ogling is just too much for anyone could bear.

"Now, since everyone, well except the future groom, is here, it's better that we talked about the engagement. I and the Han elder," old master Fan paused, "may his good soul rest in peace, arranged this marriage in order to strengthen the relationship of both families and also to protect and secure, each other's legacy and prestige. "The Fan family might rely on the Han family this time but this do not mean that the Fan could just let its princess suffer any grievances from others. I don't want to say outsiders as, if this marriage arrangement would become fruitful, which should be, we will officially become a family."

Old master Fan's words touched Fan Xifeng. She looked at him with adoration and the old man met her eyes. Family love and protection is best next to none! Truly.

"Hush, hush, I Su Meixi would even disown her own biological son if he ever betray my future daughter!"

Hearing the sincerity from the Han patriach,the Fan elders and Fan couple were satisfied. They couldn't give Fan Xifeng the freedom to choose her husband freely but at least, they could give her a better husband and in laws that will treat her just like how they treated her like a precious gem.

"Good good! Since that's the case, I insist that both of you stay for lunch and later, talk about the engagement and maybe plan in advance the marriage date. I think the groom wouldn't mind us planning in advance?" Old master Fan said.
