Testing the ability

Seeing Dazai tease her, Akane couldn't help but feel annoyed. It made her want to smash something into his face.

Reaching out, a sword handle potruded from her chest as Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi were drawn.

"Say, Dazai. How good are you in dodging? I am dying to try it out."

Akane followed it up with the unleashing of her shikai.

"Go get him captain~ If any of you get hurt, leave it to me or Shinobu to patch you back up~"

Ban jeered, lounging back on some crates to watch the fun.

"Great idea. Let's test some things out, shall we?"

Not waiting for Dazai's reply, who was moving out of her range as he did his best to dodge. At some point he had drawn his weapons as well, a pair of guns, as he used them to deflect the trajectory of the swords.

Sword and gun clashed, as sparks flew unimpeded. Shots were fired, blood was drawn, but the most entertaining was the shocked face of Dazai as the swords left a burning slash on his side, not going out in the slightest even is they touched his skin.

"Oh my, it seems the swords don't count as an ability. Good to know."

While this was going on, Akane's devil fruit powers had returned as well, which suggested that there was some kind of time limit on the ability of Dazai as well.

"I say, it looks a lot like the effect of the sea stone."

Akane stated, as she jumped backwards and sheathed her swords again.

Seeing the swords being put away, Dazai put away his guns as well.

"Next, let's see what happens if you use you ability against Ban."

Ban smirked as he confidently touched Dazai's hand, followed by Shinobu 'helpfully' stabbing Ban with her sword, one that had been convered in a fluorescent yellow liquid. Feeling the usual burst of pain, Ban waited.

As soon as the pain had appeared, it also faded away again. The sword wound closed up instantly as well, indicating Dazai's ability didn't restrict his healing ability.

"Snatch!"

Deciding to try his other ability, Ban smiled filled with glee as a gun appeared in his hand. Seems like his Snatch was unaffected as well.

"So Ban's powers and magic still work. Let's call Soren and Lafitte back. I want to know if it works on Minks or if it only works on devil fruit users."

Akane muttered, as she grabbed her den-den-mushi. Conversing with the little snail, it soon went back to sleep.

An a few mimutes, both Lafitte and Soren had arrived.

The observations continued, as Lafitte's devil fruit ability was canceled as well. His hypnotism still did its job, as Dazai was doing handstands and barking like a dog, just like Lafitte had ordered Dazai to do.

Soren's Electro worked wonders as well, as Dazai was twitching on the ground with a single touch.

This made the effects of the ability a little clearer.

The results were as followed:

It worked against devil fruit ability holders, as it was cathegorized as an ability.

It doesn't work against racial powers. Electro and Ban's magic/regeneration still worked.

The effect of 'No longer human' seemed to have a limited time effect, something that was unusual according to Dazai, as it only seemed to work with direct contact in Dazai's own world.

The time limit was about two minutes. When the devil fruit is awakened, such as Akane's giant fox form, it would last for a minute.

"It appears the degree of devil fruit mastery affects the time the ability 'No longer human' has over the devil fruit user. Still, I wonder if it works against Logia users, as they can make their bodies the same components as their devil fruits. It would be hard to touch someone if you pass right through them."

At her side, Dazai didn't seem to be bothered to find out about the weaknesses of his powers. He was staring dreamily at the yellow poison covering Shinobu's blade.

"I wonder how that would feel as a way to go?"

Dazai muttered as he tilted his head to the side, seemingly deep in thought.

"Now then, the last thing on the list to cross off. To see if Ban's blood has any effect on healing Dazai."

Dazai looked at Akane, as he stretched out his arm.

"Go ahead. It would be nice if it was so easy."

A cut was made, blood soon covering his whole arm.

Ban grumbled as bit but still dutifully gave Dazai some of his blood. The wound of Dazai's arm healed instantly, showing that it had an effect on Dazai. It wasn't that surprising, since the regeneration worked under the abilities effect, but it still had to be tested, as it would be bad to find out it didn't in the midst of battle.

"Great, it seems you'll be a great help in the future, Mr. Sea stone. Welcome to the crew once more."

Akane beamed, clapping Dazai on the back.

Dazai embarassedly scratched his head, wondering if he should be happy or not, considering he had no idea if the nickname he got was offensive or not.

"Now then, you all go do something you want to do. I'm going to visit Sabo. If all goes well, we should be back on the sea in a few days. We've been leisurely enough for the past month. I'm sure that we missed a lot of fun things while we were stuck here."

Leaving the crew to themselves, Akane met up with Sabo again, who was happily sharing the newspaper clippings he had of Ace, which were a lot. The wanted posters, the news about him joining Whitebeards crew, his recent battles that increased the bounty.

"Our brother is working hard. It would be fun to see him again as well, but I'll have to wait awhile for that."

Akane said as she passed the clippings back to Sabo.

"What is your next plan?"

Sabo asked in curiosity.

"I'm going to the territory of one of the Yonkou's. I surmissed that if I make a big enough mess of the New world, Shanks would surely come out. Maybe stealing some sweets from Big mom? Who knows. Visiting Zou would be interesting as well, as Soren wanted to visit his home as well. It's still a plan in progress."

Akane shrugged as she shared her thoughts. While Big Mom was an option, she would avoid Kaidou for the time being. She wasn't sure if she was strong enough to fight him. If she had to believe the stories, then he was a monster in human skin. Toughness of the same degree as Ban, as well as a great resistance against most attacks. Maybe Dazai was a nice trump card, but that had to wait a while.

"Sounds like fun. Give me a call if you need some help. I'm sure me and Ace would love to beat Big Mom down a notch."

Sabo and Akane laughed, both sharing their stories till late in the night, as Dragon and the rest of the leadership would leave the next day. If possible, Akane wanted to enjoy her little brother's company for a little while longer.
