Chapter 22 - New Beginnings and Dangerous Plans

"Call me Yong," said Yu Yong, as memories of his past life flashed before him. Now he was no longer the Heavenless True Asura who shook the heavens to the point that even the Immortals had to descend. He was starting a new life.

Curious, Yu Yong asked Ye Meng, "So, how do you know so much about past events?" But Ye Meng's eyes twitched in response. "I'm a scroll fanatic," he said. "Most of my life, I couldn't cultivate, so I just read every scroll or book I ever came across... until this idiot came and lied about me having a godly physique." Ye Meng smacked Xin Yang on the back.

"From my understanding, you do have a certain physique, but I haven't seen it before," said Yu Yong.

"I kind of figured it out, but it isn't because I was born with it. Rather, it's because of a different reason. You'll understand soon enough," said Ye Meng, as Yu Yong raised his eyebrow in interest.

"Oh, seems like you all have some sort of secret," Yu Yong voiced his thoughts.

"Yes, we do. You gotta stay tuned to find out," said Xin Yang as he got out of the room, leaving Ye Meng to explain everything that had happened to Yu Yong thus far.

Meanwhile, Bai Lihua had gone out of the Realm to check things out and came back with the information that every city belonging to the True Pine Empire had wanted posters of them all around.

"The world is on fiaaaaaa," sang Xin Yang as he trained, while Bai Lihua sat there contemplating things.

"What are you thinking about?" asked Xin Yang, noticing that Bai Lihua was zoned out. He sat next to her and began to chat.

"If the whole world hates us for what we did, are we the villains?" asked Bai Lihua.

"Yes," replied Xin Yang.

Surprised by his answer, Bai Lihua inquired, "And why's that?"

"There's really no line between a villain and a hero," Xin Yang explained. "If you save millions of people, you're a hero. If you have a mighty artifact but took it for yourself and didn't give it to some snobbish elder, then you're a villain."

As Xin Yang got up to continue his training, Bai Lihua was left to ponder his words.

"It all depends on how people see you, but the life we are living isn't for them. My life is for myself, and no one can decide what I do. I steal cough borrow from others because I want it for myself, I scam others because I'm dirt poor. I kill others because they think they're higher than me. Everything is for a reason, but hero? Villain? Those are just some titles idiots made up to feel self-assured of themselves. There isn't such a thing in the real world. Not even strength determines who's the last winner. I'd make an immortal's life miserable if he even thinks about crossing me. My goals are beyond anyone's understanding," Xin Yang finished his speech and got back to training, leaving Bai Lihua to contemplate his words.

The next day, Yu Yong, Ye Meng, and Xin Yang were training together. To their astonishment, Yu Yong had already reached Foundation Establishment 5th stage, partly due to his past life's experience, but also because of his body's talent. He was what you'd call a so-called rare orange talent, with an Orange-grade Spiritual Root. How enviable.

Even though Xin Yang had a Green-graded Spiritual Root, his intake of spiritual qi was faster than most Orange-graded ones, thanks to his cultivation manual being more compatible with him.

"We should do something crazy again, kind of like a celebration for our new comrade here," Xin Yang suggested as they rested. Neither Ye Meng nor Bai Lihua were surprised by his suggestion; they knew how crazy Xin Yang's ideas could be. But Yu Yong was confused. Celebration? Crazy?

"How about blowing up a sect?" suggested Ye Meng.

"Killing a Clan's heir?" suggested Bai Lihua.

"Killing a sect's saint and blowing up the sect," they came up with the idea and stared at Yu Yong. "You in?"

As they stared at him, Yu Yong didn't know what to do. What the hell did he get himself into?

"I-I guess so," he said, feeling uncertain.

The very next day, they changed back into their extravagant disguise, including Yu Yong, who was surprised by Bai Lihua's special talent. However, he wasn't that surprised; in his era, talents like these were just a bit rare.

As they emerged from the Void Realm, Yu Yong couldn't help but sigh. This wasn't the world he knew. The peaceful world he remembered was war-torn, with battles everywhere and pools of blood instead of water. Literally everything was decimated. But now, it was just peace, and he'd never get used to it.

Noticing Yu Yong's dazed state, Ye Meng woke him up. "It's not the time to be nostalgic, kid. We have work to do."

Irked at being called a 'kid' by a literal kid, Yu Yong just sighed and moved on. It was time for him to see what this world had in store for him. Would he finally be able to experience the thrill of battle again? Or would the world disappoint him once more?
