The massacre 9

The Princess being excorted out of the party by a General was a very big deal and most of the guest were beginning to wonder why.

Seeing things unfold as the did, Alot of the guest were also leaving, they needed to know what was going on and staying there further would not give them what they needed. Afterall, the princess being led out of the party in such a manner meant one thing, The party was over.

The orphanage staffs at first were not really sure what to do, until Irene gave them an order. She was worried too, but the best they could do at this moment was clean things up in their end while they wait for new of what was going on.

Zira and the Soldiers she brought immediately went on to escort the princess back to the palace. A carriage had been prepared and the Princess was made to enter immediately and the carriage drove away.

Harry followed Zira not saying anything for a while, until after the carriage left, he decided to ask the question in almost everyone's mind.

"What's going on general, he asked

Zira looked at him for a while and asked a question of her own.

"State your name and rank soldier?".

Harry dared not to disobey an order from a superior in the army and responded

"Major Harry Laxe reporting to General Zira"

Harry saluted.

"Major? Laxe? Are you Harvey's brat? Zira asked.

Harry felt weird being called a but he still replied.

"Yes General." Harry replied.

Zira looked at Harry again like she was trying to Size him up. After a while she sighed.

"Although you're young, you're still a major, and that means you can carry out this mission." Zira said.

"I want you to take the Princess back to the Palace and stand guard there". Zira said.

"Is there something wrong general?" Harry asked trying not to sound frustrated.

"It's the Queen, her envoy was ambushed when she was on a mission and we've lost contact with them". General Zira said

"What"! Harry said in shock

"Quite soldier." Zira ordered with a cold tone.

She gazed sharply at Harry, before bringing out a cigar and lighting it, after which she continued.

"Some of my men are tracking them for now but they'll need help. General Harvey is on another mission, Bale is.., well indisposed, Lord Boise never leaves the king's side until Lord Orion is back and Atilah is still at sea so, I'm the only one available" General Zira said

"I want you to take the princess back to the King."

"And where will the general be going". Harry asked.

"I'll be joining my men in the rescue. The king asked me to personally make sure the princess was safe before going to the field. I've done that so I'm going on to the field". General Zira said.

Harry looked at the situation and found it too weird. First, his suspicions that the princess might not be the real princess, although he was yet to see any proof other than his intuition, second the Queen being attacked now of all times. It's all too convinient to be a coincidence. Something was definitely off and if he doesn't speak up, they might rescue the Queen only to find out they had lost the princess, or worse.

'I have to say something, and if I'm wrong, I'll just have to take responsibility on way or another'.

"General, I have something to tell you" Harry said.

"What is it soldier, I have no time to spare..."

"It's a matter of urgency General" Harry said.

Without wasting time, he explained his suspicions to the General who listened and was shocked by the revelation.

"That confirms the feeling I felt when I saw her earlier. Her aura was a bit weird, but since it had been a while I saw her, I thought it wasn't a big deal" The General said...

"And where the hell is Ija when you need her the most?. When she gets back form where ever the hell she went, she'll have alot of explaining to do." General Zira thought.

"We can't leave whatever that is alone, and we also need to check if your suspicion is true. We can't send a whole unit on just a hunch" general Zira said trying to look for a solution to their problem.

As she was busy thinking this, a hand grabbed her behind causing her to look back.

She wanted to lash out at the person, but was shocked to see an unlikely face.

"What are you doing here?" Zira asked the person who called her in shock.

"I heard what you two were talking about earlier, and I want you to leave the princess to me" Gor said.

Harry looked at the boy with surprised and wondered who he was and why was a boy talking to them in such a manner.

"Scram kid" Harry said in anger.

"Calm down Major, He's not a threat, I think..." General Zira said.

The memories of her first encounter with Gor was still fresh in her mind.

Although Harry thought he was looking at a small insignificant child, she knew what stood in front of them was a monster.
