Killers

The next day came and Ija came to take Thia to the palace from the orphanage to train with the queen. When Thia told Thena how are say went, Thena felt things were going smoothly and she expected the mission to go well. Although they had not been given instructions concerning how the main event would go. They were still carrying out their part. Thena was going to follow Rex and his lovely wife to their home for the day. If she likes it, she would return to the orphanage and tell the Matron of her intention to work with them as an adopted help. After that she would be able to work closely with Rex and carryout other assignments from her end while Thia keeps on getting closer to Ija. It was important to get the royal knight out of the equation since, the mission hinges on Ija not being there to stop them when they come for the Princess.

After Thia and Ija got to the palace, she followed Ija to the the training ground, where they used the previous day. All damages had been repaired and there were more weapons there both real and those used for non lethal training.

"You can wait here for a bit. The Queen will be here shortly." Ija said and started walking out.

"Uhmmm, are you not going to stay?" Thia asked.

"Not today, I have a job to do and that's to guard the princess." She said.

"I thought Henry was with her" Thia said.

"Henry is out today." Ija replied.

"Also I'm her guard, not Henry. He's just like an understudy. I'm her personal Knight." Ija said.

"You don't have to worry kid. You'll be fine." "The Queen won't bite your head off.., I think" Ija said with a smile and left.

Thia tried to say something but she didn't have anything to say to Ija that could make her stay.

"There goes my mark" Thia thought.

"I never really thought this through" Thia thought as she could only sit and wait for the Queen.

After close to Thirty minutes of waiting, the queen Finally walked in. But she was not alone. Along side her was two young boys. Both looked like teenagers. After they got closer, Thia saw them and she recognized the two boys. They were the two young boys walking with the Queen yesterday when he first met her.

"Ija told me their names. Was Jut and Janith?" Thia thought.

"Hello Thia" the Queen said seeing the small child.

"You Majesty" Thia bowed slightly.

"Sorry for keeping you waiting. I had some matters to attend to" the Queen said.

"No worries Your majesty" Thia said.

She looked at the two young boys beside the Queen and before she could say anything, the Queen spoke again.

"These two will be joining us today. Tuk, Tanith meet Thia. Thia this are my nephews" The Queen said.

Tuk and Tanith bowed slightly and greeted the young child even though she was smaller and younger.

"Is Politeness a compulsory thing amongst the people here" she thought.

She was wrong though, the Queen had told Tuk and Tanith to behave themselves and make sure Thia is comfortable around them. She had a plan for the child, and she couldn't let anything mess it up.

After the introductions and greetings the Queen walked towards the place where the weapons were kept.

"You said you're good with the spear right? Thia Queen Vivian asked.

"Yes your Majesty" Thia replied an walked to her side.

"Choose one of the non lethal spears." The Queen ordered.

Thia picked one of the non lethal spears and walked to the center of the training area.

The Queen picked another non lethal spear and stood in front of Thia.

When they were both ready the Queen spoke.

"What are the advantages of using a spear in contrast to a sword?" the Queen asked.

Thia looked at the queen before she replied.

Her weapon skills have been sharpened after months in happyLand and she knew more about the spear and even other weapon than ever. But she decided to stick only to the things her uncle Zinesh taught her. Also there was also room to learn more. They were thought alot at happyLand, but it was still not everything. The Queen's lesson about spirit and nature energy was one of the many new fighting territories Thia was yet to explore.

"Well my Uncle told me spears were better because of their longer reach and flexibility.

He also said something about spears giving more options in battle".

"How so?" the Queen asked

Well for swords you have the cut, slash and stab.

"For spears you have the hit, the cut the pierce and even a.. grab?"

Her words caused a slight chuckle form both Tuk and Tanith. Only the Queen didn't react but in her mind she would have loved to give Zinesh an award for teaching Thia the Children version of damage.

But unfortunately for Thia, the Queen didn't need anyone to tell her she only knew hitting, cutting, piercing or grabbing. She was sure the child knew killing too. The eyes of a killer was one and the same anytime any day. Killer had one thing In common. No matter how much they loved or hated killing. They still could no get rid of the killing instinct in them. Even when they are trying hard not to kill, they still had that instinct to go for the kill.

"Your Uncle thought you well Thia."

"Although he's a bit off about something, the Queen actually replied. There no weapon without it's own advantage and disadvantage. The sword is strong and fierce. It cuts deep, but against a rain of arrows there's not much it can do. Except there's a shield, that on the other hand shatters to the might of a mace. A spear has reach, but that can be taken away if it is snapped in two. An arrow had range but it take time to knock. A mace is destructive, but it has to be very sturdy making it heavy, hereby restricting movements. So it doesn't really matter what weapon you use. The question is are you able to use it to it's fullest?"

"A master archer will probably defeat a novice with the sword, not because the arrow is stronger than the sword. But because, quality sometimes is something we can't win against." The Queen explained
