High Guard Kindel

After the duel ended, the royals left the throne room and everyone else was left to do their own thing.

Henry stood beside Gor while the others awardees were talking.

"Do you even know what this means?" Henry whispered to Gor.

"No I don't".

"You have just impressed the most powerful men in the kingdom. Your future is going to be very bright. Do you know who this people are?" Henry said pointing to the Generals.

"Yes, one of them is my father" Gor replied.

"Oh, yes. Sometimes I forget you are also from a legacy House."

"You don't really act like it". Henry said

"How exactly do the legacies act?" Gor asked.

"Most of them are spoilt, particularly the kids, but only few turn out nice, like me" Henry replied.

"That's great, can we leave now? I would like to visit the Princess before I return home".

"Well we can but, I doubt you would ne able to leave easily."

"Why is that?"

"That's why". Henry said as one of the Generals approached them.

Immediately the General got close Henry Saluted.

"Senior Sergeant Henry Laxe greets General Kira Atilah" Henry Saluted.

"At ease soldier" The general said in a flirtatious tone.

General Atilah, was a very gorgeous woman, with a really really alluring figure. Even though she was a general, she didn't look like it and was even wearing a casual black dress underneath her Cape. She also has some make up done making her look more like the usual noble women in the Kingdom, and not a general.

She turned to Gor at tried to get a read on him. Gor stared back at her suspiciously and was getting uncomfortable wirh the way she was looking at him.

"Are all Female General like this. First it was General Zira and now her?"

"So you're Bale's brat" General Atilah said.

"I'm not a brat" Gor replied.

"Oh, yes you are. A very cute brat. You didn't even deem it fit to Salute a superior officer". General Atilah said.

"I'm not a soldier yet." Gor replied.

"Oh... Cheeky now are you." The General said.

"How Old are you?" She asked

"I'm Nine" he said.

"I heard you bonded with the aktel on your mission to retrieve the weapon, I must say, everything I've heard of you since I returned are nothing short of amazing and now I can see why" The General said.

"What!!" Henry screamed drawing people's attention. He quickly covered his mouth as if that would undo his blunder.

"You bonded with the aktel?" Henry asked Gor, "wait what I'm I asking, you retrieved the aktel?"

Gor ignored Henry and faced the general.

"So, what is it to you?" he asked.

"Rude.., but I like you" the general said. "I've decided" She said.

"Decided what".

"You are going to be my daughter's husband" the general said.

Henry and Gor opened their mouths out wide. Few seconds later Henry looked at Gor and told him.

"Congratulations, you're getting married".

"Shut up Henry" Gor replied

"Hey, I'm still older than you, show some respect" Henry said.

"Who do you think you are to decide that Old lady?" Gor said in rage.

"I already discussed with your father, he told me to do as I like, so from now henceforth, you're my son in-law" the general said.

Gor looked at the direction of his father in anger. Bale stared at Gor before looking away to continue his discussion with General Boise.

"I'm going to kill that old man" Gor thought in rage

"You don't have to worry about anything, my family will take care of everything, I'll inform my daughter before I set out back to sea". General Balor said in excitement.

"I'm not getting married to your daughter, or anyone for that matter" Gor stated.

"Shut up kid It's already decided." The general said.

As they were talking, some else joined the conversation

"I can't believe house Atilah would stoop so low, as to get their daughter married to someone with a curse" General Laxe said as he joined the conversation.

"The boy should have been killed from the beginning, not allowed to join the ranks of noble royal guards" General Harvey Laxe said

"Father" Henry said.

It's General Laxe, Senior Sergeant" the General corrected.

"If you have a problem with me then take it up should take it up with the royals" Gor said.

"I have no problem with the royals letting you live, but, it's your father's fault for not killing a parasite like you before you came in to infest the air with your curse. You should have died at just like your brother died".

Gor's mind went a full 360 after he heard what the General said. He wanted to tear the Generals head there and then, but Ares Voice suddenly rang in his head.

"Don't fight him Kid..."

"Why? Why should I allow him to insult my brother?"

Two reasons, one he's definitely stronger than you, you won't gain anything from fighting him. Two, I don't really know what it is, but there's something up with this guy, I can't really explain it but, it's very dangerous.." Ares explained.

Gor decided to listen to Ares and stand down, but not before he said something.

"You are right General Gor said. I have a pathetic and incompetent Father who sent his sons on a suicide mission leaving one dead and the other cursed because he was too much of a coward to kill us himself!. I think my father is the greatest scum on earth and that would never change" Gor said loud enough for everyone to hear.

"But despite all this, you're still not half the man he is" General Gor replied

"You brat...." General Laxe said in outrage.

"I don't respect you General, I don't respect any of you. As far as I'm concerned, you're just as worse as Bale" Gor said

Gor left the room and went on to see the Princess.

Immediately Gor left the room General Atilah spoke.

"You legacies a quite a dramatic bunch" She said.

"Shut up Atilah" General Harvey said

"I'm still making him my son in law, if for nothing else, as long as I get to stick it up to you, I'm good" General Atilah said

General Laxe didn't reply and just left the room

"You really should stop teasing him" General Zira said.

"I can't help it, he has that thing that makes me want to teasing him for all eternity" General Atilah replied.

"Are you really going to marry your daughter to the kid?"

"Why not, he's a good Kid" General Atilah replied.

"Good kid, you just met him".

"Oh please, he's just a kid, how complicated can he get" General Atilah replied.

"Sigh, You're crazy Kira, Just tell me whenever you want to tell Milia. I'd like to see her face when you tell her you plan to marry her off to one of the Kindels, and he's youngest son at that" General Zira said

"Who said anything about telling her?" And started walking out.

"Come Z, let's get something to drink" General Atilah said

"Oh, are you paying?" General Zira asked as they both walked out of the room

Gor and Henry were on their way to see the Princess. Since Gor is now the Captain of the princess guards, he would have to be around the Palace more often. His situation was very weird given that he was not a soldier yet, and he never too the knights entrance test, but given the look on his face currently, Henry didn't see this as the right time to discuss those things with Gor.

Gor looked at the medal he was given and stripped it from his shoulder.

"You should do the same" Gor said

"Why?" Henry asked.

"Because we are going to see the princess. Seeing it might make things worse". Gor replied.

"But she already knows of the award ceremony"

"All the more reason not to show up with it". Gor said

"Oh, you're right" Henry replied.

"Are you sure you're nine?" Henry asked

"Why? Were you expecting me to be all stupid and clueless?"

"Yes, I mean no. I mean, maybe."

"I am actually, sometimes Gor said. Don't ever forget, I'm still a child. Those fools in there seems to easily forget". Gor said

"I do have something I'd like to know more about" Gor said.

"And what is that?" Henry asked.

"What are the obligations of a high guard?" Gor asked and Henry looked at Gor with relief. He was glad he didn't allow what Happened earlier to affect him too much. Now he was going to guide him on his obligations as a high guard.

Henry had recommended the post for Gor after the royals asked if he would fill it himself.

The knight had refused the offer feeling that he was too weak to fill such a post.

He decided to recommend Gor instead, which made the royals happy and satisfied.

Henry explained everything he needed to know about behind a high guard and the obligations that comes with it.

"So That's how it is Gor" said after Henry had explained.

Thanks Henry Gor said.

They both finally got to the entrance and when he tried to knock he could hear her sobbing

"How long has she been like this?" Henry asked one of the maid.

"Close to an hour" The maid replied.

Gor went inside followed quickly by Henry.

The Princess raised her head, immediately she heard the door

"Your Highness" Gor and Henry greeted.

"Hey, Gor. The princess said as she tried to compose herself properly. She was a complete mess.

"What are you doing here?"

"I came to see you Princess". Gor said.

"Why?" she asked.

"If you'd like to, I'll escort you somewhere outside the palace.

You've been here for too long. You need some fresh air" Gor said.

"Yes your highness you do" Henry said

"Is there anywhere you'd love to go?" Gor asked.

"Yes, actually But it's outside the capital' the princess said

"Where is that your highness? I'll surely take you there"

"Logas, I'll love to Visit Ija's home at Logas."

"Then I'll make preparations for the journey". Gor said and left.

Henry followed along, leaving the princess alone.

"Are you sure it's a great idea? I mean, she just got kidnapped a week ago."

"It doesn't matter, she needs this and we'll be there to keep her safe. "

"Oh, look at you acting like a true high guard."

"Well as the high guard of the princess guard. I'll be relying on you alot". Gor said.

"Ahh, more work, I'm already missing Lady Ija" Henry said.

"I can send you to her if you want" Gor said.

"More work it is" Henry replied and Gor chuckled.
