Canah of Balor

After Gor the challenge, a small space was created in the center for the duel to take place

Canah Balor, who was wearing her royal knight uniform, stood in the middle for their duel, Gor looked at his father, standing there emotionless, as if it wasn't his son that was about to duel a strong royal knight.

'If he didn't really care, he shouldn't have saved me' Gor thought.

He went to the small space created, the royals were still sitted and the others in attendance were standing close.

"Be careful Henry said, she's of house Balor and like your Family, they also have a bloodline contract with a divine being".

"Really, which one?" Gor asked

"The goddess of light" Henry replied

"Goddess of light?" Gor thought "interesting"

After the two of them were ready, Orion, the kings brother and personal guard came forward and spoke,

"The rules are simple."

"No long ranged attacks, no divine attacks, only physical skills, you can use your gifts, but, only the ones that meet the criteria of physical attacks. Anyone who breaks the rules, will automatically lose and will be stripped of his or her rank."

"Any questions?"

"No" they both replied.

"Goddess of light, what's she going to do, shine bright like a diamond?" Gor thought.

"Begin" Orion said.

Canah Balor opened her two hand and two swords made of light suddenly appeared.

"OH…, goddess of light." Gor thought as he saw the two weapons Canah conjured.

Without wasting more time, Gor summoned the dark blade and was ready for battle.

Everyone was shocked at the ominous blade Gor had summoned and even more shocked that the sword didn't have any form of divinity, but reeks of an ominous curse,

A mix reaction filled the room, to those that were yet aware of the boy.

"You're cursed" Canah said

"Yes my lady, do you have a problem with it".

"Actually, it's another reason to want to defeat you, someone like you can't protect our future" Canah said.

"Then please, defeat me" Gor said. Ready to throw the fight.

"If you can defeat her, I'll give you more access to my powers" Ares said in his head

"What kind of access are talking about?" Gor asked.

"The amour Ija gave you, I'll show you how you can make it part of your curse and how it can make you stronger".

"Then you have a deal" Gor said.

Canah made the first move, she attacked the great speed, moving her light swords to attack Gor.

Gor blocked the two swords and tried pushing the knight back. Canah stood firm, using her physical superiority to stay on top. Gor saw he was not going to get anywhere if he made it a physical battle, he needed to use his head.

Canah kept on attacking and Gor was blocking and dodging each of her attacks.

While the royal knight was meticulous, calculating and swift, Gor was using the same style, his father taught him. He used follow ups, to attack and catch his opponent off guard.

Any time he went in with an attack, Canah easily blocked it and went he went in with the follow up, she was able to see through him and even lure him in.

Their duel had only lasted like two minutes and for Gor, it was a pathetic display, at this point he would lose miserably.

Seeing that his fighting form was not working Gor switched to something else.

When Ares had taken the wheel a week ago, he was still conscious to some extent and was able to observe the battle. He saw the way Ares moved and since it was with his body, Gor knew there was a chance he would be able to replicate those moves.

Gor closed his eyes and tried to remember the way Ares moved, his moves were flawless, unpredictable decisive and most of all, lethal.

Gor attacked Cana again, clashing with her light blades, but this time Gor moved differently, instead of trying to follow ups, he used the style he had seen Ares used back then. His attacks were no longer directed to achieve one objective, instead, his mind played various outcomes of the battle, thinking of what he would do next if she blocked, dodged or parried the attack. And whenever she countered his mind began to comprehend her moves and counter them before she could make any decisive moves. Even when she predicted his next move correctly, he kept on with his attacks giving her so much to think about in so little time. His moves became shaper as they fought making, the Royal knight fight more seriously than she thought she would.

Every one watching the fight stared in surprise as a nine year old boy was sweeping the floor against a fully grown royal knight. It was as if they were watching a dream.

Everyone who thought Canah would weep the floor against Gor were now admiring the boys skills and resilience.

"He really is, your son," General Atilah whispered to Bale who was beside her.

The stalemate continued until Canah decided to switch things up, when she noticed Gor had gotten used to her attacks. She switched the length of the light blades.

Gor, didn't notice on time and when the next attack came he didn't realize her range had increased, as the sword was about to cut him, he dodged in a knick of time but not without a scratch.

Gor looked at Canah and realized why she had been chosen to be the Queens new personal guard. Her strength definitely surpassed his own and she was not yet fighting at full force.

Canah continued to fight, increasing the length of the light blade every second more and more. When she noticed Gor was getting used to it again, she suddenly made her blade smaller and dodged Gor's attack. This left him wide opened and she immediately lengthened the light blade putting the tip on Gor throat ending the fight.

"Lady Balor wins" Orion announced.

The king looked at Canah, and asked

"Would you like me to rescind my order concerning young Lord Kindel? the king asked.

"No your majesty," Canah said shocking everyone.

"I believe Lord Kindel is exactly what the princess needs."

"I'm glad to tell you. Our future is in safe hands" Cana said

"Very well then."

"I lost Gor thought",

"You did well" Henry said and patted him on his shoulder.

"What do you mean, I lost".

"Well, they don't think so" Henry said, pointing at the different faces staring at him in astonishment. They had not expected him to give Canah such a tough time and keep her on her toes. They all felt the battle could have gone anywhere until the last moment.

Gor smiled at Henry, even though that was not the reason he was sad, he still appreciated the knights encouragement. The real reason he was sad was because he lost the deal with Ares, and he would not be able to learn about the way to increase his strength by infusing his curse and the amour Ija made Him.
