Chapter 6: The Challenge.

CHAPTER 6: THE CHALLENGE.

Everyone was set to watch the challenge and they were so eager to watch the challenge between the two brothers.

Even the high ranked royals were present to watch the challenge and to even make matters more interesting....it seemed like a life and death challenge which made Kim Byun so worried to death.

Kim Kyong was dressed in his warrior uniform; a golden armor while Kim Hyeon was dressed in Smoke black armor.

Everyone watched the two of them keenly not wanting to shift their focus so they won't miss out on anything, most especially Kim Hyeon supporters, they really want Kim Hyeon to win the challenge because they think he has more entitlement to the throne than Kim Kyong.

On the field, Kim Hyeon refused to lead the attack despite being the one to propose the challenge while Kim Kyong had no good reason to raise an attack as well. After they unsheathed their swords, they stood staring deep into each other's eyes. One was the look of pity while the other was that of hatred and envy.

Kim Hyeon had his special reason for not raising an attack first. Right from the start, during his training process, he wasn't able to grab fast and when he finally started to pick up he learnt it otherwise so he was only good at defending them and attacking at the dine minute.

The noise died down when no one moved an inch between the two. Kim Byun was so happy, she would be forever grateful of the two didn't fight at all.

Kim Kyong, noticing that Kim Hyeon wasn't willing to raise an attack, he sheathed his sword back and started to walk away.

All of a sudden, everyone gasped when Kim Hyeon charged towards his brother but Kim Kyong was fast enough to unsheathe his sword and raise a perfect defense.

*Clash*

*Cling*

The clashing sound of the swords were heard next. At first Kim Hyeon was able to keep himself steady as he was attacking Kim Kyong so fast and giving him an extremely limited time to lay defenses.

Kim Byun was calm while Kim Hyun tensed up a bit. He still had that faith that his favorite won't let him down by losing to his brother.

At first, Kim Kyong wasn't interested in the fight since he wasn't interested in the case but when he saw how determined Kim Hyeon was, he realized he wasn't going just because of the case but to prove to everyone that he is also a worthy and capable contestant for the throne.

He can't have that!

The next moment, Kim Kyong was giving sting attacks from every angle while Kim Hyeon became stuck in miserable defenses.

The young maids became more excited and a smile appeared on Emperor Kim Hyun's face, he didn't hide his pleasure nor did Kim Byun hide her discontent.

While most people were cheering happily, some faces were as black as the bottom of the pot, they didn't like it the way Kim Hyeon was looking at Kim Kyong!.

Kim Hyeon on the other hand was losing focus every minute. He noticed something strange on Kim Kyong's sword . It was like there was current flowing through it. This slight distraction made him gain a few slashes.

But it wasn't severe due to his protective armor.

It triggered Kim Kyong's when he realized that his brother was after the throne to the extent that the untamed beast in him began to unleash slowly. His eyes became odd white and it was more like charges were flowing through them as well.

"Kim Hyeon!"Kim Byun screamed and stood up reflexively when Kim Hyeon's sword got broken by the serene aggressive Kin Kyong. Kim Hyeon fell due to the sudden force that broke his sword.

Kim Kyong's sharp sword pointed at Kim Hyeon's throat, it felt like it would dip in any moment soon but Kim Kyong used his left hand to control his right hand and freed the sword from his grip.

Kim Hyeon was breathing so heavily when the sword pointed so close to his throat but he became relieved when Kim Kyong dropped this sword.

He knew this wasn't his real twin brother but his beasts.

Talking about Kim Kyong's beast side, only few people know about his strange attributes. No one had a beast side of them, all of them are humans.

All the Royals stood up and cheered, while every other person was clapping with joy and amusement, Kim Byun was clenching her teeths so hard.

Princess Lee Joo-mi was so happy, now that Kim Kyong has emerged as the winner once again then there is no doubt that the throne is secured for him now.

Kim Kyong left the field and returned back to his room with his guards behind him but halfway to his quarters he ordered them all to leave.

Immediately he entered his room, he shut the door and started to break everything he laid his hands on. Why is it when he tries controlling the beasts in him that they make it so difficult for him to overpower them.

They really wanted to take control and it wasn't going to be easy for the two sides as none were willing to give up. Right at his door stood Lee Joo-mi, the daughter of the first minister of the capital. She had followed him all the way here just to try and get into his good books and be a possible wife of his in the future.

At first she was shy, her cheeks were flushing red but after she started hearing the sound of shattering glasses, she knew something was wrong with him.

"Prince Kim Kyong, Prince Kim Kyong!"She knocked on the door slightly while hearing his name a bit too loudly but still hit no form of reply.

She checked if the door was locked and luckily it wasn't so she decided to go into his room to check on him. She already heard something related to this from the maids that most of the time, whenever he wins a fight with an opponent, he always goes berserk like this.
