CHAPTER 35: Think Fast.

Chin Bada was so devastated when she heard all about what happened. In summary, Crown prince Kyong's men were terrorizing the people at the market square when the prince was absent and they bullied an old man, little Chin Sun couldn't watch them bully the old man and got herself involved, trying to defend him from those people while his family did nothing.

Chin Bada has two cases to solve, first is to find a way to free her daughter and stop Chin Ari from getting married to Kim Kyong but the man is just so wise, there is no way Chin Sun would return home except Chin Ari marries him and it's just a matter of three days.

"Chin Ari, open the door. I'm the only one here, no one else is here with me. I'm really worried please just open the door let me in." Chin Bada pleaded and the door opened.

Chin Ari gave her a very tight hug and she completely broke down. "I don't want to get married to him, mother!....but he has Chin Sun, what if he kills her..?" She rushed her words.

Chin Bada could only pat her and console her but there was no one to console her. She was about to lose two daughters at once. She never imagined being in a situation like this where she would have to pick between her daughters.

Chin Ari or Chin Sun?

She felt weak to the bones like she'll collapse any moment from then. Disengaging the hug, she pulled Chin Ari into the room and locked the door. Chin Ari down on the bed looking sullen.

"Of all the troubles and predicaments we have always encountered, we have never come across such a thick and slimy case like this but the choice is yours to make, not mine. My only role is to support you. Just know that you only have less than three days to make your decision"

Chin Ari's tears worsen, of course she wants to save her younger sister which means she'll have to get married to Kim Kyong, the prince of death. "What if he harms me or causes me pain when we get married, he's a royal, what if he married another wife after me, what if he makes me his sex slave or his concubine, what am I going to do?...I can't"

Chin Bada didn't know exactly what to say. The truth is bitter, obviously. He isn't planning to marry her as his legal wife.

"If that's your decision then you should get ready to face all the circumstances coming your way. No one will treat you like human and at the same time you'll be striving to make yourself worthy, make them all like you. That should be your goal. Don't act weak." Chin Bada could only tell her the truth at that moment. A poor girl getting married into the imperial family is something no one would agree to

"What if he still harms Chin Sun even after I get married to him?" She asked. Chin Bada shook her head, she was sure he wouldn't go back on his words, that's one about people like him. Once they make any deals and promises, they won't go back on it.

The news about what happened at the market square spread round the capital fast like wild fire till it finally reached the palace.

"So now he's after a cheap rakyat." Kim Byun smirked. "Not even a noble with a low rank. What's he up to now?"

At first she thought that Kim Kyong would get married to his father's choice for him, anyways, Kim Hyun hasn't even shared his marriage plans with him so it's understandable if he goes against the unsaid plan.

Although he isn't her son, she won't let him get married to someone from a below standard level. It's a total disgrace to the entire imperial family and a huge insult to her as a mother. There's no way she would permit that.

"Where's Prince Hyeon?" She asked. A sneaky smile appeared on her face and something popped up into her mind. A nice plan. She stood up and left her room quickly before the maid could even reply to her and headed to her son's office hoping he would be there.

There were four guards standing at his door post, he must be inside. Immediately she got closer, the guards moved out of the way and let her in.

"You need to start planning your life instead of doing the Empire's business all day long without even resting." she started well.

"Bringing up your marriage talks again." he spared her a short glance before focusing on his work back. Kim Byun wasn't bothered at all with his attitude towards the conversation.

She made her way forward and sat opposite him on the guest seat. "Your brother is getting married soon....to a lady with no solid background, just some random gutter pick-ups."

Kim Hyeon was surprised by that. Kim Kyong is getting married, that's so surprising. "A lady with no solid background? She isn't a noble?" He asked. Kim Byun nodded in response.

"No matter how her background looks wretched, a married man is more entitled to the throne than an unmarried man, especially if he already has majority access to it. Get married to someone with a higher status and I bet it with you, your stance will be higher than his." she made a point. Who on earth would pick a poor lady with no supportive background to the empire to a lady with a high status in the empire.

Kim Hyeon sighed. "Does father knows about this?". He asked. There is no way his father would know about this and things would still be as easy going as this, although he knows his twin brother to be a stubborn man, he'll not heed anyone's word if it's his decision.

"Why do you think I'm here? He's so disappointed and you know what? He doesn't even know how to approach his best son! What a shame," she hissed.

" Kim Kyong doesn't listen to him or me but I know that you'll always listen to me, you'll get married to the daughter of the So family exactly three days after Kim Kyong's marriage." Kim Byun said firmly. The fact that Kim Hyeon wasn't giving her any reply was enough to know that he already gave her suggestion some consideration.

"I'll think about it." he finally said something.

Kim Byun smiled gracefully. "Think fast. The earlier, the better." with that she stood up. "I'll go now and prepare your favorite food by myself. It's been really long since I cooked something for you." She left his office afterwards.
