CHAPTER 20: Who Scared You?

Everyone in the room were in great shock but still the girl didn't realize anything she was still cleaning the water away from her face with her palm. Joon-woo felt stiff and couldn't move nor turn his gaze away. Damn it! If he can't control himself, how can that Cheong Su control himself?

By the time Chin Ari opened her eyes, the first person she saw In the room was Joon-woo, he was standing while the other two were seated. Her eyes widened in shock. She didn't know what to do at that moment but her instincts pointed at the bathroom, she speedily ran back to the bathroom.

"Joon-woo! What were you doing staring at her, that's improper." Ha-Joon scolded her son lightly but she couldn't help but smile in the end. Her cheeks were flushing in excitement and happiness. "Go, leave! You can come and see her in person, later when we are gone." Ha-Joon suggested and Chin Sun frowned at her suggestion.

'Why when we are all gone, what's this lady saying?'... Chin Sun wondered.

Chin Bada was surprised when her daughter ran back to the bathroom and even bursted into tears while giving her mother a thight hug.

Joon-woo who was in the room, heard the her crying and immidiately felt sorry and guilty. If he had just restrained himself and looked away or even walked out of the room when she hadn't noticed him then things wouldn't have gone this way.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying ....did anything happen to you? Who scared you?....is it Chin Sun?", Chin Bada asked numerous questions but she provided answers to non.

After a while, Chin Ari calmed down and wiped her tears away before releasing her mother from the hug. "Calm down now and tell me....what happened?" She asked, this time around in a careful and gentle tone, it was laced with urgency.

Chin Ari didn't say anything and kept quiet. Chin Bada couldn't help but wonder what was wrong but she knew she would find out from her accurate source. Chin Sun.

Chin Ari refused to leave the bathroom which got Chin Bada worried. She only came outside when Chin Sun came to inform them that Joon-woo was out of the room. It was then Chin Bada understood what happened from earlier and she smiled.

"Oh my dear, I'm really sorry, I didn't know that that was going to happen, if not I wouldn't have asked him to come with me, I'm really sorry. How are you feeling now?", Ha-Joon asked.

Chin Ari forced a brief smile and replied."I'm fine now auntie, you don't have to worry about me, I'm okay now."

"What a sweet child." Ha-Joon smiled and pat her cheeks affectionately. She couldn't wait to bring the topic up any longer, she really can't wait to have these sweet child as her daughter-in-law.

After Chin Ari Dressed up, Ha-Joon offered to help her in packing her hair so she took over from where Chin Bada stopped. She really missed doing this things. Ever since her daughter grew more mature, she wasn't able to do these things anymore.

"You have a special hair color and it requires special treatment. There's hardly anyone in the empire who has a white hair like yours." Ha-Joon said and Chin Ari smiled shyly.

"But I know of one person who also has a white hair like yours. Prince Kim Kyung. The Crown Prince of the Empire." Ha-Joon said.

Chin Ari knew she'd heard of the name somewhere before but the point is that she can't remember where exactly she had heard of the name. The maids brought in food for her to eat and after eating she took her herbal medicine. The name was still in her mind. Kim Kyung.

--Joo-Mi's Pov--

I was busy mumbling into my father's heart, complaining to him about how Kim Kyung always act coldly towards me. He needs to know that I can't take it anymore. He should be able to find another way other than me trying to attract him to me. It's just so hard.

"If you let this opportunity slip out of your hands, you'll loose every possibility of you holding a title in this empire and trust me when I say, along side with you loosing the title of the future Empress, you'll loose the title of being called my daughter." His words filled my body with shock. This isn't what I expected to ear.

All I did was complain to him on how our plans were going In reverse and how we'll reconstruct it but all these man could say was to disown me!

"Father!" I screamed, controlling my hurt and anger. "You'll disown me because of these?"

He still didn't show any emotion and focused on his work, seriously!. "You know I always mean what I say. If you don't get married to him, I'll kill you with my own hands cause I don't see your use anymore."

I was even more shocked when I heard that and scared to cause I knows father too well, whatever he says, he meant it. "But fa....

"Do anything! If you have to go to the extreme then risk it!" He cut me off coldly. This time around he was looking deep into my face making me almost puke blood.

"What if he kills me, he is not in his right state of mind lately and...and he just killed a maid...a maid recently." I couldn't help but become scared. I don't want to do this anymore.

The old man gave me no reply before he stood up. "We have to do this strategically. Lately, if you notice, Kim Hyeon has developed interest in the crown as well and he is really a good and worthy candidate for the crown among the brothers so think twice before you make a step and study your true target"

He was able to think fast. He knew that if Kim Kyung should relent a little in his capabilities, Kim Hyeon will out shadow him swiftly and quickly and there is a huge possibility that the crown will end up becoming Kim Hyeon.

I couldn't help but eye her him. I really hate him. All he only cares about is his status and progress, his life and not that of others. He isn't just selfish, he is the word itself!

I clenched her fist so hard to control my tears from spilling, my nails dug into my tender flesh. I was so furious but the old man didn't notice that. He sat down on the mat and drank his hot tea slowly. If only I had that confidence, I would have poisoned him!
